What a delightful site - the organisation of the campsite itself with the pear tree screening, the surrounding beautiful mountain scenery, the clean and immaculate facilities, the site's convenient proximity to Abergavenny itself and lots of attractions within driving distance, e. G. Wonderful castles.
The owner and his lovely family made us more welcome than at any other site we've been to, and were very helpful and knowledgeable with local information. As two 'Seniors' in a tent we were only charged £10 a night during the week - incredible value!
The site is still very new and in the developmental stage and it will be even better when the proper washing up facilities with good hot water are added, and hopefully the proposed 'Ladies' Room' with a plug for a hairdryer, something I really missed!
Also there is as yet no dedicated large open space for older kids to play football etc, but I'm sure Jim will have that in mind as his own young children grow and want to play with other older children camping on the site.
As others have said, a little shop selling milk and bread would be nice, but there is a convenience store just 5 minutes drive away, so for us it wasn't a problem if we needed anything.
We arrived on a Sunday evening and the campsite was just as we like it, very quiet and stayed that way all week. Friday evening saw more campers arriving, and we left earlier than planned on the Saturday morning due to some very noisy campers next door waking us at 5am by driving the 50 yards up to the facilities! However, we would love to stay again some time in the near future.
One other point, don't put the Post Code into your satnav to find the campsite or you'll end up at a field gate in a very narrow lane somewhere nearby, and have to do a difficult turn round. Follow Jim's instructions on the website instead. I do think the campsite needs clearer signs to find it, as the lanes around it can be quite confusing.

A very nice site with some stunning views of the surrounding hills and countryside. The toilet blocks are clean and tidy and have a washer and 2 tumble dryers for hire.
The owner is very friendly and helpful and goes out of his way to ensure you enjoy your stay. The metered EHU is a great idea and ensures that you only pay for what you use and gives great value for money.
The golf course next door is handy with an 18 hole course,a driving range and a pitch and putt facility and also a public bar all within walking distance. There is also a pick your own fruit farm adjacent.
The town centre is about 2 miles away with plenty of shops and restaurants and pubs along with Tesco. Highly recommended.

This site is little Gem. It's different and innovative. Only been open for a year and it is already excellent, but that's only the start. Jim's plans for the development of the site will take it so much further.
Each pitch is enclosed by pear trees with electric, water and drainage. The facilities are kept spotlessly clean.
You will not get a more friendly welcome at any other camp site. Nothing is to much trouble.
Did I mention the views, stunning.
Only paying for the electric you use, means about a £1.50 charge for a long weekend stay.
I shouldn't be saying all this as I wanted to keep this site secret, but if ever there was a site that deserved praise it's this one.

Stayed here after reading the good reviews but quite disappointing.
The site has a lot of work left to do, the shower blocks were new but not finished and the toilet floor was always soaking wet and flooded. Could not fault the cleanliness.
The pitches are sloping and a little scruffy. Cars seem to drive around a bit fast. As said, the owner is a nice bloke but I felt a little bit in your face and made you feel a bit uneasy. He constantly sat outside the reception and shower block and was saying he knows how long people stay in the showers for and how many times a day they shower!
All in all, ok site that needs finishing, but will definitely not be returning.

Falcon Aztec Tent
A little bit tricky to find this site but the views at the site make the extra effort worth it.
This was an old pear farm and they have thinned out the trees to make pleasant if not a little too regimented plots between the trees.
There is a slight slope to the whole site but nothing too drastic for camping on although the site seems more swayed to caravans.
The owner lives on site and was always very polite and available and although when we visited it was not 100% finished without any hot water available to wash your dishes.
The wash block is huge and very modern and clean with more than enough toilets and showers and the pay as you go electric facility is the fairest system I've ever seen.
Abergavenny is a 5 minute drive down the road and well worth a visit to walk around and explore the indoor market.

Spent three nights at this site with two children. Lovely pitch and fabulous views. Very welcoming hosts. Showers and toilets v clean. Free showers and access to freezer very helpful. No hot water yet connected to washing up facilities and at busy times the one washing up sink may be insufficient. A quiet peaceful site which the kids really enjoyed. All in all though a really pleasant site that I would return to.

I've just come back from a two night stay here with my 8 year old son. I had only booked for one night but we enjoyed ourselves so much on the first night that I booked for another. The site is spotlessly clean and really peaceful. It's surrounded by the Skirrid, Sugar Loaf and Blorenge mountains so would make an excellent base for hikers. I'm a keen hiker myself and was itching to get up them but I thought it was slightly too ambitious for an 8 year old! The toilets/showers were excellent. I know some people disliked the push button showers but we didn't really find it a problem, although it is a bit awkward when you're trying to shower yourself and a child. The site owners are very friendly and my son had a great time playing with his kids. He also made other friends on the site and it was easy to keep an eye on him without having to constantly follow him around to make sure he was safe. The only thing I would like to suggest is a small shop on the site selling basics like bread, milk, newspapers etc. I think the nearest shop is a couple of miles away so the site owners would probably make a nice little profit if they stocked some essentials. Apart from that I would highly recommend the place.

What a wonderful site,we decided to try this site at the last minute with my parents camper.
The site was well maintained and owner more than helpful to help with anything.
Each pitch is divided by pear trees and there is a shale hardstand, every other pitch has water with electric on each. They do have free internet but limited at the moment (in process of upgrading to give better signal). Shower bloke new and well maintained, they door is key coded overnight and they give the code on arrival. The electric is on a meter we only used £3 for 3 nights but could be more if everything is electric hook up. This is cheap compared with other sites that charge anything from £2.50 per night upwards.
They have a good selection of information leaflets about the surrounding area, golf club with in walking distance for a quite drink, no food in evenings and looked very basic. Just 5mins by car in to Abergaveny and only £5 for taxi in evening when we were there. There some lovely traditional pubs and Indians to eat in.
We intend to return soon,we were going to return with our trailer tent but we have just upgraded to a folding camper so it will be a definite return more than once with only being an hr from home.
There are some lovely views and walks, such a peaceful setting to chill and unwind, the site has much more to offer and will in time but this is a new site and with time and patience will be excellent place my only fear is that it may get popular and no longer be peaceful. This will not stop us going though.
This site is excellent value for money and they intend to keep it that way after speaking to owner, they care about who is visiting and that they enjoy there break with them.

Just returned from 3 night Easter break at this site with 2 Children (15 & 10) and 2 dogs.
Lovely site, easy access off the main Hereford road, well laid out with excellent pitches - enough room for car, caravan and awning side by side and still plenty of room to the front for those with more than one car. All pitches have chipping hardstand, easy access to water and drainage (water tap every 3 pitches) and are separated by a row of pear trees.
This is a new site and as such the facilities are all in great condition. The toilet block is clean and tidy with plenty of showers, sinks etc and all free. There was a problem with the hot water during our stay, it seems that if one of the showers are left on it drains the system leaving no hot water - this happened twice during the weekend but I am sure they will fix the problem in time.
Ideal location for exploring the area with Abergavenny town centre only 5 minutes away by car where you have all the shops and pubs you will ever need.
Having 2 dogs we inevitably like to walk and just 200 metres down the hill from the site entrance is a local public footpath which cuts through the golf course left or right. The views are stunning.
Although this is an excellent quiet site it could have benefited from a small on-site shop selling essentials such as milk, bread etc. The nearest shop, which is a Premier, is appox. 2 miles away. This isn't a problem for car users but could be for walkers.
The staff were brilliant and always had time to help. We had a water leak which blew our electric sockets in the caravan the first night. The owner was only too happy to help and even offered to lend us extra extension leads so we could power off another junction box.
All in all a recommended site and will definitely be returning sometime soon.

Just returned after the Easter weekend. What a wonderful gem of a site and only twenty minutes from home.
The pitches are spacious and I love what Jim has doe with the pear trees around them, the will be wonderful when they are grown.
The site is immaculate, and the toilet and show block spotless. Electric is on a token system when we arrived I purchased three 1 pound tokens fully expecting to need more throughout the weekend, we ran a radio, charged phones, boiled a kettle and used a heater during the night and still had two pounds left, it's an excellent way of getting value for money on the electric and a real sign that they are not ripping you off. I was fully prepared to keep my 2 pound tokens for Whitsun, but they insisted on refunding me.
We don't have children but there was an organized Easter egg hunt on Saturday and on easier Sunday Jim put up a bouncy castle where I believe his own children played with the visiting children, it looked like they were all having a blast.
There is a shop only a few minute drive away, and Abergavenny has Waitrose and Tesco, there are lots of pubs within a short drive but we were happy to enjoy this wonderful site and BBQ.
