A nice site in a lovely location, good facilities and helpful staff. Both toilet blocks clean and there was plenty of hot water. It is just across the road from the large lake where there is a beach with hire boats and wonderful views. It had been raining a lot before we got there so we chose our pitch carefully although there are not many hardstandings and the grass pitches are sloping. A Dutch motorhome arrived after dark and parked on a wet pitch, in the morning he was up to his axles in mud and it cost him his front numberplate and part of his bumper when they towed him off. The reception tried to allocate us a pitch but I said I would choose my own as many were muddy and had little grass this late in the season. They are putting in some level hardstandings at the bottom of the site, these will be popular if the weather is wet
We cycled right round the lakes and saw some pretty villages and small beaches, nice easy cycling as the tracks and roads are level. The area seems very cycle friendly with marked cycle ways. There doesn't seem to be any shops nearby but there is a small shop on site where you can buy essentials. We only spent two nights on this site and I felt that this was enough, probably a good site for people with children as there seems plenty for them to do.

We stayed here in July of 2010 and it was our first holiday in France. We had a fantastic holiday the site is quite a small site perfect for small family's very good facility's toilets are cleaned twice a day to a very good standard pitches are very good size and the site had a really good family atmosphere .Staff are very friendly and helpful. The site is a little out of the way so not a lot to do unless you travel. The only complaint we had was being next to a lake was mosquitoes there were loads of them. The pool area was very good kids loved the slide. The restaurant was just a snack bar very basic. All things said very good site and we will use this site again as a stop over site as we plan to travel further down next year we had a fab time.

We spent a very enjoyable two weeks at this site, which we chose due to it's distance from Calais (4 hrs) and because we hoped the lake's beaches would compensate for not being on the coast.
The site is a mix of people heading south/north and staying for one/a few nights and those staying for longer breaks. During our time on the site it was roughly 1/3 English, 1/3 Dutch and 1/3 French.
The quality and size of the pitches does vary, although the vast majority are on the large size. All have their own water supply and EHU point, which our UK cable fitted.
We were closer to the older of the two toilet blocks, which was perfectly fine whilst the new block is certainly smarter (toilet seats in the gents).
Our boys (6 & 8) loved the swimming pools - indoor and outdoor with slides.
There's a small, well stocked (for its size) shop on site, which is tad expensive as you'd expect. Other shopping options are a big Leclerc on the edge of Troye, 8 to 8/butchers at Lusigny-sur-Barse and an ATC at Vendeuvre-sur-Barse. In terms of size/convenience to the site the ATC is probably the pick of them, although it does close for lunch.
We spent most of our time messing about in the pool or in/on the lake. The beaches at Mesnil and Geraudot have both got swimming areas with life guards. At Mesnil you can hire pedalos, electric boats (1.5 hrs is fine) and kayaks. We never really investigated the sailing options, as it looked like you needed a formal certificate to get a boat.
We played a fair bit of tennis on the courts at Mesnil, which you hire for e5/hr at the tourist information office.
We also had a cracking day out at Nigloland and spent a couple of afternoons at Grimpo Branches - a Go-Ape style place just outside Lusigny.

I used this site with my partner and 4 kids (ages 12,12,8&7) and would definitely recommend it if you like a smaller site with a relaxing atmosphere.Pitch sizes vary but are more than adequate. Our stay was probably helped by 10 days of fantastic weather. The pools although small were never overcrowded despite a full campsite and the flumes were also a hit with the kids.
The toilet facilities are first class and cleaned every day.The shop is basic as is the bar/restaurant but sufficient. The lake directly across the road now has sailing, canoeing, pedaloes, fishing and you can swim in it too in a roped off area with lifegaurds on duty. 2 excellent attractions within 30 mins drive are Negloland theme park and Grimpobranches (an aerial assault course through the trees)
If I have to add a negative (in my opinion) the surrounding area needs to develop just a little to offer the odd shop or souvenir stall to the campers but all in all this is a nice site in a beautiful setting

We stayed at this site for 3 nights on our way south and were so impressed we came for a further 6 nights on our way back. The new shower block is superb and kept spotless by the staff who clean at least twice a day.
The restaurant is a bit expensive but quite good. It has more of a feel of a cafe than a restaurant. There is a very nice restaurant about a mile walk along the lake which is very good. The Pizza place across from the site is also good but expensive. You are paying for the location. Staff good and friendly.
There is an indoor pool as well as the outdoor one in case of bad weather. Very large Le Eclerc supermarket on the way into Troyes which is easy to find but is about 20 kilometres away. Does have a cafeteria which is cheap and very good. Lots of cycle paths around the lakes and Port Deniere is worth a visit.
Can make the site from the ports in 4 hours by car (obviously longer if you are towing. Ideal stop on the way south or north coming back. Camping cheque site in low season

Toilet block has been upgraded this year - no 'continental style' ones now - although they seem to have bought the wrong size toilet seats - they slide when you sit on them - gives you a bit of a surprise the first time.
Site now has a restaurant in the bar, good food reasonably priced - large salad is very large-, if you order pizza for more than 2 takes a while to come as the oven only does 2 at a time so you get served in relays. All staff really helpful and facilities spotless - they were cleaned at least twice a day.
Lovely area, nice gentle stroll along lakeside takes you to a restaurant which looks like a greenhouse from a garden centre but serves fantastic food and have spectacular views of the sun setting. ( Shame I can't remember its name - it began with an M ). No local shops but site has small shop and bread can be ordered daily.

Wonderful place. The site had just opened as part of Kawan so I guess there had been some changes when we came upon it. I'm sure you need to book now.
We enjoyed cycling around the lake (my kids 10 & 12) Didnt visit Troyes but would plan to do it again.
Brill slides kids loved playing in the water. We were on route but would detour to come again.
Downside is that mozzies rule here.

We used this site for 2 nights on our way south. It accepts Camping Cheques in low season and is quite easy to find, once you are at Mesnil St. Pere it is signed so you can't go wrong. It is on the opposite side of the road from Lac d'Orient which is a very large lake entirely given over to wildlife, which is good, but if you expect to swim or sail in/on it, you can't.
Recrption is welcoming, English spoken well (one lady is English), there is a well stocked shop, bar, bread ordering. Nice outdoor pool, which we didn't try as the weather wasn't great. Wi fi access.
It has the usual hedged/treed pitches which are quite large and perfectly ok. There are 2 facilitiy blocks, one only has 'hole in the ground' type loos, which surprised us, as this is a new site. The children's' play area was next to the access road and unfenced, not good.
I would recommend anyone staying here to visit Troyes, it's a wonderful city with many medieval buildings. There is an E. LeClerc hypermarket at the roundabout which you will come acrss on the outskirts, also has the cheapest fuel but there is a garage on the main road about 2 miles from the site, in the direction of Troyes.
