The toilets and showers in Church Field are much improved. The cliff ladder is decidedly dodgy - great care needed and use backwards like ladder! One look and we went to beach via West Runton or Sherringham! The cliff top is still open with no fencing and a bit loose in areas - care is needed. Large play area in neighbouring field to run riot chuck balls, stomp rockets etc without annoying neighbours. View is amazing.

july 2003 we attended a barbeque here a few weeks ago put on by the young owners of the camp. They supplied at their own expense, all the food and drink, along with karaoke, party games and even a miss beeston regis competition[ with a twist! namely only men could enter!!]
my husband george put on my best briefs and bra stuffed with toilet paper! he came second! the camp raised £500 for the local church sited right next door!
what a day and what a lovely place to visit! situated on the cliff top with lovely sea views this really is a great place to stay! the toilets area bit basic but i was told that a new toilet block is being built for 2004.

May 2003 Close to Sheringham - 10 mins walk. Access from the campsite to the beach is treacherous down a ladder and not recommended. The pitches are large and well organised. If allocated Church field - check the facilities because there was only a portable toilet/one shower when we went. Good and very reasonable shop on site.
The site is not fenced by the cliff edge so not ideal if you have toddlers but older children were okay.

May 2003 This was a favoured site of ours for many years, but no longer. It has changed over to a mainly static campsite with huge prices to boot. The tiny area for tourers has a portable toilet block with only a few cubicles, up steep steps (not for the arthtitics amongst us) and then you are expected to go through into the static area to use three grotty showers and appalling toilets. Not for the faint hearted. they most certainly do not support touring caravans and tents any more.

last visit 2001 We found this site by accident more than 10 years ago after a failed attempt to get to Wales. The site was basic, but well positioned. It was a cheap and cheerful place to go, value for money. We went every year for 8 years or so, it was great. Patricia who owned the site unfortunately passed away, and the site got new ownership. The owners were young with flash sportscars, the site got a new sign, a new site office, and shiny new prices to match. It became one of the most expensive sites in the area, but if anything, the facilities deteriorated abruptly. Suffice it to say, we never went back. It's a cheap and cheerful site, with 5 star prices. Be warned. (PS the rickety stairs often wash away, and then the only beach access is via Seringham)

august 2002 the site is excellently situated with impressive views on the cliff tops. A slightly tiring and dangerous ladder to the beach but worth the risk. The shower block is disgusting. It needs drastic change!

july 2002 This is a very, very basic site (i.e no pub, club, pool, etc) Ladies showers were by token and were rather grim (flipflops recommended), toilet block non too clean. Shop tiny, very little stock. Dishwashing area grotty, with only cold water. On the plus side, the beach was nice but the site is on a cliff and the only way down is by wooden steps that were more like a ladder. Not for the elderly, young children or those scared of heights! The walk to Sheringham over the hill was very pleasant. We did wonder what we paid £15 a night for.

We camped in Aug 01 and found the site to be good, very spacious. One bonus is direct access to the beach via (very rickety - but we managed with a group of young kids) steps. Shower facilities OK as was the shop. 15 miute walk to Sheringham via fields or beach and 90 minute walk to Cromer along beach.

This is a very nice cliff top site, with direct access to the beach (rather steep) the only thing that lets this site down are the toilet and shower facilites, not enough for the size of the site.
