The owners of Tower Park did their very best to keep the whole site running during the worst two weeks of weather I've ever experienced in Cornwall. Mopping the toilet floors at 10.30pm, towing more and more stranded motorhomes from the rally field and jump-starting the odd damp car.
The shop only stocks basics, sweets and some camping accessories, although the short walk into the village for bread, milk, bacon, etc, is a pleasant one.
The chip van visits every Monday and Thursday, but I was not overly impressed by their offerings. A deli van visits for an hour most mornings - our kids loved their fruit pots.
We were lucky enough to be sited in the same field as the children's play area (pitch number 4 - EHU and very flat - Sheltered from the westerly gales by hedging and trees.) as this made keeping an eye on the kids a doddle. But beware, with the ups come the downs. The games room and outside sitting area is also adjacent to this field, which encouraged the gathering of younger teens while we were there, leading to enough noise to annoy some people, although they generally disbursed before 10pm.
On the whole, a nice site, well run!
The local pub, The St Buryan Inn, is pleasant and has managed to hang onto it's old fashioned feel (a roaring fire in the tap room on a cold damp August night was most welcome). Prices for the basic pub grub were, I thought, a little expensive though.

Fairly easy to find right next to the village of St Buryan, Tower Park is large (13 acres in all) and flat, with several fields clustered around the central reception/toilet block and small play area. There's also a dog walking field - nice touch.
It has a good noise policy (management reserves the right to evict, etc), so despite being pretty full it was quiet after dusk, apart from the occasional barking child or crying dog.
During our visit, it rained almost continuously and was misty for much of the time (that's August for you), and the fields rapidly became very muddy where vehicles churned up the tracks. In that sort of weather I expect it's impossible to keep toilet facilities spotless, but the showers were also rather weak - presumably too much demand. That being said, we stayed only a couple of days and only used the showers once.
All in all, it seems a very nice, family run site. There's a limited camp shop which does breakfast rolls etc, and visits from a fast food van, but it's within five minutes' walk of a convenience store and Post Office in St Buryan, which also has a pub (not visited - shame).
St Buryan is 5 miles from Land's End, and no more than about 7 or 8 miles from all sorts of other places to go in west Cornwall. Tower Park really is an ideal base for exploring the whole rich variety of the Penwith peninsula.
We'd go back, but we'd check the weather forecast first!

We have just returned from a very wet week at this site but we had a great time.
The site is very prettily located and the owners have gone to great lengths to maintain its simple beauty and are committed to developing it in an ecologically friendly way. The owners are great and very friendly and, despite the terrible weather, the toilet blocks were kept clean and hospitable. Coffee and takeaway bacon sandwiches are served at the little shop in the morning which is also a great help.
St Buryan is very easy to walk to even with small children and has a good range of facilities. It is about a ten- fifteen minute drive from Penzance and Porthcurno.
The local pub was friendly and welcoming (even to children) and serves a good range of food (very handy in the wet weather).
The site was quiet after 11 and campers were very friendly and helpful to each other.
Well done on such a great down to earth site! Would definitely recommend to others and visit again

We returned to this site with a little trepidation two years after our previous visit knowing that it had new owners and they had made quite a few changes. To our delight, none of the changes have altered the charm and character of the site, but rather they have enhanced it. There are now free showers, modernised toilet block and new wash up area. It was busier than our last visit, but just as tranquil and we were very sad to leave. The village shop is as well-stocked as before and the village of St Buryan is really quaint. This is such a perfect base for exploring whether on bikes, foot or car. We even managed to cycle to Lizard Point and back in one day from there. The new owners said they wanted to run a traditional style campsite and encourage walkers and cyclists, and they were considering offering a pick-up service from trains and buses. Their efforts and enthusiasm deserve every success.

Tower Park is centrally located right down in the toe of Cornwall so two to five miles from all of Sennen, Treen, St Just, Penzance, Mousehole, Lamorna, Porthcurno, Minack Theatre . Sennen between two and three miles at a guess. Flat sea in one direction and surf in the other! Short stroll into the village with pub that does food, post office, very good convenience store. Easy drive to St Ives - we drove to Lelant and then did the last bit along the coast by train. There's a local-ish dog kennels which does day boarding or longer if, like us, you have the dog with you but still want to visit some of the less dog-friendly surfing beaches.
Lovely owner-managers who had only taken Tower Park over this year and were busy improving an already decent campsite and impressing their personality on the place.
Good standard of freshly decorated loos and showers. Plenty of hot water in teh showers which were coin in the slot this year but there are plans to do away with these gadgets for 2008. Laundry and indoor washing up facilities. Good sized flat pitches. Small play area for the littlies in full view of one field of pitches - the site is divided up by long established hedges and trees into four or five separate fields which have different characters eg one has play area, one is a rally field, one has a very good dog walk. Good campsite shop serving cooked breakfasts. TV room. Games room with table tennis and pool. Highly recommend.

At the height of summer this was a very peaceful spot to base ourselves for the week. We were camped in 'Church field' where you can see St Buryan Church, it was sheltered with lovely hedgerows. There was another larger field on site that seemed much more windy and another that had a children's play area which I would have found too busy, so something for everyone. The toilets and showers were basic but we never had to wait too long. I do think that two sinks for washing up is too few. However, the owners are friendly ( they let us wait after the chucking out time for our tent to dry after we got caught in a downpour when we were packing to leave. Having checked out larger sites nearer Sennen ( where I would have liked to stay to be in walking distance of the beach) I think we made the best choice with this site - they very more exposed, busy and charmless. Agreeing with the previous post, there is a brilliant local store amazingly well stocked and a local pub that provided us with pizzas after 9.30 when we were too tired to cook. This is a very convenient spot for buses running up to the Minack, and in the other direction, lands end. Very highly recommended.

Just arrived back from two glorious weeks camping at Tower Park. This site is easily one of the very best I have ever visited, and the location is simply the best. The countryside and coast nearby are stunning, and there are white sand beaches within a few miles of the site. Even at this busy time of year the site looked immaculate and was very well cared for. The owners are really very serious about the service they are providing, and the facilities were all in working order and clean. Even after this summer's heavy rain, the ground was firm and presented no problems for us. The owners were very friendly, and helpful from beginning to end, so it is easy to recommend Tower Park. If you love Cornwall, you will love Tower Park. The site's reputation is clearly international, as while we were there there were many foreign campers. You have to pay 20p for the showers, but they are always hot. There are undercover washing up facilities, and also a washing machine and dryer. We had an electric hook-up pitch, and the connection point was located very close to our tent. The site is well equipped for children, there is a small play area, a games room and a TV room. Our three boys loved the place. It could not have been better. The only minus point I can think of is the rule concerning the locking of the site entrance gate at 11pm. We have three young children, and we took them to see the fireworks at Flambards theme park in Helston. We didn't get off the car park until ten twenty, so it was a rush to get back. You can park outside of the site barrier, but we use our car battery to power the tent lights, so that would have been awkward. Fortunately we made it that night. My main issue with the gate rule is one of safety. If an emergency was to occur, then it would be necessary to find the owners in order to exit the site after 11pm (We camped in South Devon last year and had to get to A&E after midnight). I have been on other sites with similar security, but they all offer some form of gate key to guests. This obviously means investment for Tower Park, but in my opinion it is well worth it. Otherwise Tower Park is pretty much perfect, and we will be going back! I cannot recommend this site enough, if you want to visit West Penwith then Tower Park is the place you need to stay. Many thanks to the owners, for a holiday we will always remember.

A lovely site run by wonderful people. The site facilities are excellent, especially the shop which sells great bacon butties in a morning. Plenty of hot water in the showers, you get a good soak for your 20p! Although we didn't take kids, there is plenty for them to do, including outdoor play areas and an indoor games room. We will definitely be back soon.

This is a fantastic spacious site which is incredibly clean and tidy. Each pitch is spacious. The staff are very friendly and will provide you with information on tap. All the amenities are immaculate and are cleaned regularly. There is a small play area a games room and a small shop selling essentials. The site is within walking distance to village so is handy for the pub, post office and convenience store there is also a petrol station/garage in the village. Being so close to the village it is also handy for public transport. Highly recommended and thanks for a great week.
