What a hidden gem,a lovely site with beautiful views, cross the road and you are on Loch Sunart. The site has a well stocked shop for basics, make sure you stock up well before arriving, there is no club and the nearest pub/restaurant must be 3/4 miles. The site was quite once the kids went to bed, Most pitches (tent) were level although one or twowereona slightslope, the site did not have set tent pitches you were free to choose your own pitch.
The toilet/shower blocks were always kept clean which was surprisings as it rained for 5 days, there is a resident warden who we found helpful.
The site has its own slipway and is free to use, this was well used by those staying at the site.Rates I felt were very reasonable,EHU for tents were limited so you are advised to book in advance.
Great location and under a hours drive to Lochlihnne and theferry crossing to Mull,£30 for car 2 adults and 1 child.
If you want to book a pitch for the season (tin tenters) it was £650 incl electricity (Apl-Oct) and £100 winter storage.
All located in one of the last unspoilt areas of Scotland!

Situation stunning. Toilet/shower facilities just adequate for the size of the site, but all kept clean with plenty of hot water. Site staff extremely friendly and helpful. Shame that the shop / reception doesn't sell alcohol, because the nearest pub / restaurant is 2 miles on a single track road. Ideally the site could do with more lighting as it is limited, espcially when your coming in half cut at 2 o'clock in the morning having walked back from the pub!

The campsite is on the loch and wonderful views to wake up to.The facilities are always clean with plenty of hot water, this must have been a challenge as it rained 5 of the 7 days we stayed there. Shop stocks basic foods, bread and papers, there is also a slipway to the loch. I think this site is a hidden gem located in a beautiful area of Scotland. The only downside is the mossies although we used clearlites with some success. No noisy neighbors during our stay, the site went quite around 22.00.

What a brilliant site this is. Fantastic views over Loch Sunart and the surrounding area. Pitches for campers / caravans are hard standing and level. Facilities are modern and clean. Well stocked shop on site. We only stayed for 1 night on our way to Lochaline ferry but, would definitely return for longer stay. Midges were about but the breeze off the Loch kept them at bay. All in all a top site in a top location.

Good views of the Loch from this site, only downfall was that our pitch was close to the road which was quite busy, we arrived early evening and they arranged a pitch for us without hesitation. The toilet and shower facilities were second to none and did not cost a bean. They are well ahead of any other site I have visited with regard to the motorhome, they have a drive over point to fill up with water, empty the toilet(well away from the clean water but close enough to the drive over point not to break your back) at the same point you open your waste taps to empty nthe grey water, brilliant its quicker than a macdonalds takeaway. The site was reasonably priced but you would pay a fortune for the view anyway.

Stayed here for a week. Nice tidy site (20 miles down a single track road) in an idyllic spot right on the shore of Loch Sunart (take lots of tent pegs). Facilities good with free showers, handy shop, good restuarant and nice pub. Only downside we could find was no childrens play area, so all the kids (our included) run about the caravans and tents. Midges not really a problem as wind never dropped in the open camping field. Nice chippy and bakers in Acharacle about seven miles west. Excellent forest walks and wildlife hide all within five miles. No spiders in the toilets/showersas previously reported.

July 2004 We stayed here for a night whilst on a tour of the highlands. The site is in a lovely lovely location, overlooking Loch Sunart and the mountains beyond. The wardens were extremely helpful and very friendly. Lots of electric hook-ups available. Toilets were clean but, lots and lots of spiders hanging from the ceiling which freaked my 5 year old out so much, she refused to use them! We pitched quite close to the road, which was extremely quiet after the road was the loch. Only major issue here was with the dreaded midge who were out in force! But the view from our tent in the morning made it all worth while, priceless.

June 2002/3 Probably the best site in Scotland that I have visited.
THE BEST THINGS - landscaping - you are not crammed in - the tranquil views of Loch Sunart - thoughtful staff - well managed - good location for walking and fishing
FACILITIES The showers and toilets are clean and in plenty of supply - so no queues. No need for coins unless you are drying you hair. You may also wish to take note of the noisiest sparrows in Scotland who live on the roof.
Good launderette and reasonably stocked shop with a fridge for your ice blocks. Manned by very friendly staff.
The bar and restaurant serves food of both good quality and value. It is a good idea to book and be aware that it shuts on some evenings.
THE WORST THINGS - midges - be aware that this is not a good location in gale force winds as it is on an exposed headland. When we were there, all the tents were flattened to the ground except ours and the caravanners had to strategically manouvre their units to avoid the blast. BUT do not let this put you off - just check the forecast. - moronic drivers on the main road

June 2003 5 star site, the scenery and position of this site was second to none, peaceful and relaxing, we took our 2 dogs and went with a couple with 2 children, we sailed on loch sunart alongside millions of midges, although to be fair this did not spoil our holiday, the pub on site was excellent as was the food, homemade receipe for midge repellant 50% baby oil + 50% dettol in a spray bottle does the trick, although you do smell a little afterwards!

June 2003 We loved this campsite. We have two small dogs so being adjacent to the loch was excellent for exercise. The site was immaculate; showers and toilets always spotless. Warden was very friendly and seemed pleased to see us when we arrived without a booking and was always friendly whenever we changed our ice blocks. Loads to do within easy reach by car or foot or bike (even boat). We camped in a tent and loved our stay - small bar at the golf club was a nice bonus if you fancied a cold beer before you drank the ones in the icebox. Excellent.
