June 2004 Did not enjoy the site at all and left after only 2 days. The toilets are at the top of a very steep hill and need re furbishing. There was only 1 washing up area and very little hot water. The shop was OK but very expensive. That said, the surrounding area is very pretty and Kippford itself is well worth visiting.

September 2004 Went to this site in September, so wasn't too busy and we could pick our tent pitch. Very reasonable prices for such a nice site. One of the best I've been in. The food in the Mariner pub was great. The staff on the site very helpful and friendly. the surrounding area is really nice with plenty of interesting places to go to. If you're stuck at night you can always go to the cinama in Dumfries, especially once the nights are darker.

June 2004 Lovely clean and tidy site, we went as a birthday celebration in June 2004. Toilet/shower block is clean and tidy (key entry only), area to wash pots & pans, laundry area etc. There is a small shop on site so you can gather any essentials you need. All pitches we saw had electrical hook-up.
Site is situated on a hillside so to get to some of the static's higher up is a bit of a walk - but the view at the top is wonderful. Only a short walk to the harbour front at Kippford. There is a wonderful little pottery shop right next door to the site with the majority of the items being made on-site.
Would definitely visit here again but wouldn’t go during the school holidays. Our first night was also the final night of the school hols and we were surrounded by 3 families with lots of children. Nothing against them but we certainly didn’t get the peace and quiet we had expected and our pitch was right up in the corner so we were more or less sandwiched in. However, once they had gone it was so peaceful and we really enjoyed the rest of our stay.
Only downside is that most of the tent pitches back onto the main road so there is some traffic noise during the day and early in the morning as delivery vans speed past the site, but you get used to it after the first few hours. Our pitch was quite small and uneven so found we rolled down the hill if we turned over during our sleep but think they had been so busy it’s the only one they had left.

July 2003 This is a simply wonderful site. It's very well maintained and the toilets, showers are spotless (and free). Small yet with two toilet blocks and seperate swing park, adventure playgrounds which the kids loved. Short walk to nearby fishing village of Kippford, pubs are fantastic, overlooking bay. Been back a couple of times and will visit again. Site shop very friendly and will freeze ice blocks for free. Down sides? not many, it's a bit hilly and I'm sick of them being fully booked 'cos they've turned me down twice this year and it takes ages for them to reply to e-mails! Overall 9/10.

October 2003 I would highly recommend this site, especially if you want a relaxing peaceful holiday. This is a good sized park, with some small playparks for the kids which, for where we were was in shouting distance. The reception staff were very nice and helpful, especially when I had to go in repeatedly for directions.
It is close to 2 towns just a 5 minute car ride away, and Dalbeattie is about 10 minutes away and you can get refill gas canisters there, though I am not sure if there are any available closer to home but Dalbeattie is where we went and they were reasonably priced. There is a shop available on the site, though in my opinion it is maybe a little on the high side for prices, but not as bad as some places I have seen, but it is adequately stocked with the essentials that anybody may need and gets amongst others organic bread, rolls etc delivered regularly (I'm pretty certain it is a daily delivery but I'm not a 100% this is so).
There is a laundry room, with washer, dryer and iron available for a small charge and also an area for washing up dishes. The bathroom facilities were very good, kept very clean and the showers were also very good, loads of hot water, a definite thumbs up. There is fishing nearby, some free and some not, though I do not know the prices. The prices for a pitch in my view were extremely reasonable, we were £10 per night, though this was without an electric hookup and that was for the pitch, me, hubby, kiddie and the 2 dogs, so I thought this was reasonable. There is a wood nearby and a long patch of grass nearby for the dogs and plenty of rubbish facilities available in case any dog does have an accident.
In the town of Kippford there are a couple of pubs that are child and dog friendly and also serve food, we went to the Mariner and the food was lovely, though we felt maybe a little over priced, it just over £6.00 for a beef curry for hubby and nearly £2.00 for a bowl of soup plus roll for me, though I feel I must say the food was delicious. Where we are you can get a pub main meal for just under £3, so maybe we are spoiled, lol.
So to sum up, I think that Kippford Holiday Park is easy to get to, good value for money and provides a lovely, peaceful atmosphere for a relaxing holiday. I would give it 8/10.
