Arrived week before Easter with big tent, very blustery, enough to bend a pole, however family owners took pole away to be straightened, very helpful. This is a family owned campsite with clean toilets / showers and plenty space for all units, good play area for kids. We will def return.

Have been visiting this site for years and both ourselves and our children love it. Plenty of space for them to play and the beach is on the edge of the field. One bay sand the other good for crabbing. You can watch the ferries going and coming from Holyhead to Ireland and the RAF base has the occasional fighter jets low flying overhead. The two draw backs are the less than adequate toilet facilities and the long narrow lane that you have to hold your breath while towing down for fear of meeting another caravan as there are two sites off the same lane until it forks towards this one. Chinese at Valley crossroads used to deliver and this is a godsend as you do get fed up of the trek to the shops although there is a shop on site.

We were lucky to have a good five days in what has been a terrible month for rain. It did rain, but overnight, and the ground was firm after, so drainage must be good. The site is a bit exposed as it's on a peninsula leading directly to the beach so it got quite windy. Good for water sport activities (a lot of people had boats, windsurfers etc). The site boasts a history back to the 1950's and I think some of their attitudes still reside there. There is a takeaway. But it shuts at 5:00. There is a swimming pool. But it costs £1.50 adults/£1.00 kids per visit. There is no provision of a weather forecast either, which I find unusual these days. Make sure to book for the local restaurant or you'll get short shrift from the 'dragon' maitre'd. Shower, toilet and dish washing facilities are poor compared to what is generally available these days, particularly the toilet/washroom. Nevertheless we had a good time and I would go back and put up with the shortcomings. The staff are friendly and there's loads of room for tents and for kids to play.

Lovely site with nice views and a great beach (the wave that comes in as the 'fast cat' decelerates for Holyhead harbour and the faces on the people trying to launch boats/jet ski's is fun!)
Facilities fine, play area nice, grey water drain on the pitch a bonus. Chemical Disposal point under cover but a bit grim looking.
high security with proximity tags etc.
Swimming pool paid for separately but at £1 isn't exactly extortionate!
One point is its down lanes then down its own (very long) single track drive. I was very glad we didn't meet a caravan coming the other way! Bear in mind this was my second towing experience with a van so I may be a bit sensitive!
Nice site, access though fine was a bit nerve wracking for a novice with a 20 foot van on the back!

I love the site been loads of times but afraid I wont be going again. Through no fault of the owners or the site I am afraid I can no longer stand the horrendous winds that I have encountered on 3 separate occassions. First time it totally wrecked our awning and 2nd and 3rd times I lay in bed at night scared silly wondering if the awning or in fact the caravan would make it through the night. Of course I know there is always a breeze on the coastline but there is a difference between a breeze and very very bad winds. It is for this reason alone I will not be returning. Apart from that the site is lovely, views gorgeous and the williams family very very nice

April 2005 Spent a lovely week at this camp parked on the headland with wonderful views. Excellent shop on site , friendly people, facilities superb. Launderette, washup room , toilets etc Very quiet in the week. lots of vans left on site together with boats so noisier on weekend. No problems with dogs on this site. While we were there they were tarmacing roads putting in security gates etc generally seem to be spending a lot of money. We`d definately return.

Just spent 7 nights at this site. Very clean toilets, showers etc friendly staff, good shop. They were improving roads putting in new security gates while we were there Views terrific but very quiet even at the weekend when families arrive with children and there were quite a few boats.Evidently a lot of tourers are left on site all season as everyone seemed to know everyone else. Would certainly return.

August 2004 This is the second year I have been going to the site. I fully recommend it. Theres loads for the kids, games room and pool plus the beach and the games that are put on over the summer holidays.
The shop this year has massively improved, and there is loads more, I have been in several times and they always seem to have what I need.
The owners are really friendly Bill and Rob are always on hand to help with any technical issues such as electrics not working on my caravan.
I read some of the comments before posting this message and would say that the experience of one person in 2003 is one I have NEVER experienced at this site, you couldn't ask for more, the views are great, my kids have plenty to do, theres a shop on site and the rules are clear, firm and everyone is friendly. Overall a five star rating.

August 2004 Spent the weekend here with friends who recommended it. Clean, quiet, good facilities but could do with more. Great for kids - they loved the play area. Controlled entry to site. Site rules fair and firm.

June 2004 We originally visited this site two years ago and decided to go back for a weekend this year as we found the site to be very tranquil. Our first weekend visit this year was with friends who were considering buying a touring van and wanted a weekend away to see if they could 'hack it'- they did and took delivery of their van this week. We left our van in the storage area (cost of £1 per night) and went again the following weekend with out two grand-daughters (12 and 16 years old) who thought the site was magical and keep asking when we are taking them again!
The road to the site is narrow - but although our van is big we didn't find it too bad - been down worse roads. The site is spacious and the owners do not allow children to be unruly - otherwise the who family is turned off the site. The views are spectacular and the bays on either side of the headland are very different - one being full of shells, the other having clean, soft sand. Walking across the sand to the other side of the bay takes you to rocks which, when the tide is out, can be climbed over to gain access to another bay - even less crowded than the first. From here you can walk up onto the road and follow this back to the campsite - well worth the aching feet!
The owners and site staff are very obliging and helpful and we will be going back again - even though we have a 3 hour journey to get there - it is well worth it.
