To Find Site:- From M5 at junction 18 take A4 towards Bristol City Centre. Once under the Clifton Suspension Bridge watch out for signs for SS Great Britain and follow these to campsite which is on the same road.
Baltic Wharf is a small open all year site next to the Floating Harbour in Bristol. There are only 48 pitches all of which are on gravel hardstandings. Non-members are accepted. It is a very popular location so advance booking is usually required. Some pitches will accept awning but not all. Electric point are convenient to all pitches and are rated at 16amps using CEE17 blue connectors. They also have TV connections but you need your own cable or be prepared to purchase one from reception. The toilet block is near the site entrance and up to the usual CC standards. It also contains a covered washing up area. Next to reception is an Information Hut with lots of local information. Site wide WiFi is available and time can be purchased online. There are no play facilities or dog walk at Baltic Wharf. Being a city centre site there will be some noise but it does not become intrusive.
The beauty of this site is that the centre of Bristol is not far away with its massive choice of eating establishments within walking distance. Alternatively it can be reached by bus or ferry but best to check operating times if a late return is likely. There is a pub next door to the campsite that does food if you don’t want to venture far. The SS Great Britain is a short stroll from the site. The Clifton Suspension Bridge is also only a short distance away. All shopping needs will be found in Bristol City Centre although there is also a convenience store 5 minutes along the main road from the site.
The Caravan Club have recently announced that this site is likely to close because the local Council want to redevelop the land. However it should remain open at least to January 2015.

We have visited this site on more than one occasion and we have never been disappointed. It is a short walk to the main shopping area of Bristol and also convenient for the museum on the harbourside and the main Bristol museum. You can catch a bus nearby that will take you into the centre of Bath. The site is quiet and well run. It is by the side of the harbour so has some great walks.

First time on Baltic wharf caravan club site, as we members of the caravan club. On arrival in our motorhome, where we were told by the wardens where to pitch up, with etc. hook up and we were near to the toilets showers & washing up facilities. Very clean all round. We were also given a key to a back gate, which leads on to the wharf, along the river, only short walk to pubs, shops. Very pretty place. Will be going back in the next few weeks. Very quite on site, very friendly people. Loved everything about the site. Mr & Mrs hill. Of Tewkesbury.

We arrived late at 19. 30 and found all the details of our pitch with keys etc hanging on the special board. All the usual high quality from a caravan Club site with spotless loo's etc. Although a small site the gravel hard standing pitches are more than adequate and we had no problem manoeuvring with our small car on the back. You also get a key that lets you out of a special gate at the rear of the site that leads straight onto the wharf which is lovely. There is a nice pub a few yards down on the wharf called the Cottage Inn which does decent grub. When it comes to leave make sure you get offsite by Mid-day or the warden gets a bit hot under the collar!

We stayed here for 1 night and arrived just after 5 pm when the office had shut. All of our pitch details were on the board with details about our pitch, security passes and keys for the facilities block. I was also greeted by one of the managers who reiterated what was on the paperwork.
The facility block was as usual for caravan club sites excellent.
The site is all hard standing, gravel pitches. They are organised in small areas of upto about 6 pitches or so.
The site is located on the edge of the city, we did not go into the city but I understand that it is a short walk or you can catch a bus outside the site.

Visited here for the first time over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend staying for 4 nights.
We arrived after reception had closed but had been pre-allocated a great pitch with full instructions and keys to the facilities block and gated entrances so it didn't matter that we'd missed the wardens.
Our gravel pitch was fairly level right next to the service point with a clear line of sight for our satellite dish with no obstructing trees so we were very happy. We could see that some pitches would have had trees obstructing the dish so I guess it might be worth a mention to the site directly at the time of booking if this is important to you.
Facilities are the usual standard of Caravan Club sites and were spotlessly clean and adequate in size as we never had to queue for the whole time we were there.
This site is all about it's location which is fantastic for a city break. You have everything you need on your doorstep and it's never far to get to where you want to go.
We used the pub next to the site a couple of times and had great food there. Bristol is full of great bars and restaurants catering for all kinds of tastes so there is always going to be something to suit everyone.
There's fantastic shopping in Cabot Circus and the surrounding area with loads of places to grab a snack to keep you going. I think worthy of a mention would be Browns Bar & Brasserie at the top of Park Street which has a great atmosphere and also the Severn Shed down on The Grove, Harbourside which serves some great food.
We had a fantastically enjoyable weekend and will definitely be returning to this great site. The only problem and slight criticism would have to be that having looked at availability for the remainder of the year. Well there isn't any! So if you're planning to use this site, book well in advance or keep your eyes peeled for some last minute cancellations if you're lucky!

This site is situated at a convenient location for a city break in Bristol.
Through the back gate (locked at all times) is a lovely area by the river. Good pub food is available just a few minutes walk away along this traffic free, riverside area and in the other direction, you can walk or cycle into the city.
The toilet blocks are the usual caravan club high standard.
The site is quite crowded and the pitches seem closer together than usual on a caravan club site.
There is a high boundary fence making the site feel quite secure for a city location.

We only stayed for one night but we love this camp-site, it is in a great location for visiting Bristol, although we didn't use the showers the facilities were clean and tidy. It is about a 20 minute walk to many restaurants and bars - Za Za Bazaar, Lloyds No. 1, @ Bristol, The Thekla Museums etc. You can leave by the back gate and walk along the quay, in summer you can get the ferry to the centre. We will definitely be going back in the future.

What a great location just a short 20 minute walk into the centre of Bristol with all the shops, bars and restaurants you could want, quicker if you time the small ferry boat outside the camp rear entrance.
Caravan Club site offering usual high standards with very friendly staff. Free view reception fine with sat users equally satisfied. Small site with no facilities for children.
Great for visiting SS Great Britain you can walk to it in 5 mins
One downside was some idiot broke into the site during our last night took cordless drill from one caravanner, bottles of wine and clothing from the awning of another van, I suppose its the price you pay for the location.

A very well situated site, close to the city and in easy reach of all attractions. Tight pitches, with the look of a municipal car park, but clean and tidy. Services and facilities all well maintained.
Biggest bugbear is the security of the site. Notices on the gates inform you that there is a high crime rate, theft, in the area however although the gates are locked at night during the day the site is wide open.
The result was we were burgled along with at least half a dozen other units at night when we were asleep, all clothes, old boots, rucksacks taken from our awning. Other people lost tools, gifts, wine, etc.
So take care, only stay on this site if you feel able to take the risk.
Wardens were sympathetic but of no use in dealing with the situation; they insisted they had good relations with local police but achieved no response. I sorted my crime report and forensics examinations directly.
Another note is wasteful use of water on the site. Each night the warden uses gallons of fresh water from a high capacity hose pipe to water the flower baskets; costly, environmentally wasteful!
As you can tell, I'm not a fan of this site!
