This is a beautiful location right next to Loch Leven. We stayed for three nights and experienced scorching sun, wind and rain. Rock pegs are a must as our plastic ones bent and one even broke. We pitched on the lochs edge hoping the wind would deter the midges. The first night there was no wind and we were eaten alive despite Avon skin so soft, insect repellent and citronella candles. Antihistamine tablets helped minimise midge bite symptoms. Toilets were clean but basic. There is only one washing up sink. Kinlochleven is 3 miles away local shops there were expensive but Spar in Glencoe was slightly cheaper. The Clachaig Inn just outside Glencoe serves a great bowl of soup. I would definitely return here as the view is awesome, but I would try to come early in the season to avoid the midges.

This has to be one of the best campsites I've been to in Scotland so far. The scenery is fantastic, the facilities are clean and tidy and the price is great. There's no shops within walking distance but Glen Coe and Kinlochleven are just a short drive away, and public transport will drop you off and pick you up from the campsite enterance. We used this site as a base of operations for our walks around Glen Coe and Glen Nevis.
Can't wait to visit again.

This site is excellent, my wife and I spent our honeymoon here and had a lovely time. The scenery is lovely, the site is clean and very picturesque with good facilities and toilet blocks etc. The only downside is that there is nothing at all within walking distance. Initially we decided to take turns driving so we could go out in the evening for a drink, unfortunately my wife simply wasn't happy driving on the exposed roads. However there is an excellent bus service, once we discovered this it made our holiday perfect. The bus timetable is available from the campsite reception and the bus can be hailed from the site entrance and will drop you off there too. The 44 bus runs from Fort William to Kinlochleven and back and stops at all the villages, the service is practically hourly and it's only 1/2 a stop to kinlochleven in one direction and 1 1/2 stops to ballachoulish in the other, both villages have nice pubs for food and drinks and the locals were very friendly. The bus service is one of the ones subsidised by the Highland council and is an excellent service that should be supported. We only had problems with the bus 1 night as there had been an accident on the road and the bus couldn't get through but a friendly local gave us a lift to Kinlochleven as he knew the bus was off and the service was resumed by the time we came back.
Beware of the Midges, but use some Avon Skin so soft or DEET or mosquito nets and they are easily manageable.
We will certainly go back there as it is a very nice site that is perfect for going on to further in the highlands or just hanging round the site and fishing. You probably want some good strong pegs though as like most highland sites the ground can be a bit rocky just under the surface, it's generally not too bad though and certainly no where near the worst I've seen.
We would highly recomend this site for all, it's even Dog friendly, we would have taken ours but the drive was simply too far for her.

First time camping with a family of wife and three monsters (aged 7,5 and 2). Stopped off at site on way to Skye. Excellent facilities. Owner was very friendly. Wide open spaces for monsters to run around. Small stoney beached area where a fire was lit on the evening to try and keep the midges away. Shower block/ tiolets and laundry area very well maintained and clean. Situated close to Kinlochleven and Glencoe visitor center. Excellent location for walks up to local hills.
All and all, an excellent night and we will visit again.

We thought we would stay here and save a bit of money but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong the views are gorgeous, and the fishing was good for hubby but that was about it. They had a lot of rain and all the ground was very wet and boggy so it was all getting traped in and out the van. When we went to pick our pitch we had to find one that hadn't been used as a toilet for dogs. We went for a walk with our pup along the beach I picked up my dogs business as I always do and picked up several others so my hubby could find some where to fish. My pup had to be carried as dogs were left off their leads and just roaming about the site. The chemical disposal point was a little hole in the ground open for all to see, where you had to aim the opening of your toilet very carefully so not to spill it .Went to empty the waste water and the drainage unit had a crack through it so as you were pouring it was seeping back through the crack. This site definatley could do with some tlc and some definate upgrading If it was improved I would return for the views and the fishing

Just returned from a FANTASTIC weekend here. The scenery from this sight is just magnificent. It is right on the beach of Loch Leven where you can enjoy lighting your own campfire. BRILL. The men in our group had to buy a fishing rod, as when we got there they were so disappointed that they hadn't packed them. They successfully got a Mackerel for breakfast. The shower and toilets are in a portacabin and are basic but clean. For dish washing there is only 1 sink, so you may have to queue for a while when it is busy. Not a problem for us as we just boiled water and washed dishes beside our tent. There is also a laundry that had 2 washing machines and 2 large tumble driers. A burn runs through the site too, which I know, had we taken them, our kids would have loved. Only downside - MIDGIES - just go prepared and you will be fine. Definitely wouldn't put us off going back. Pitch price for 4 adults sharing 1 tent for the 2 nights = £24. VERY reasonable. Out of 10 I would give it a 9.

Absolutely beautiful location, possibly the loveliest scenery of any site I have been to. Clean basic facilities. Loved, loved, loved it and will definitely be back! We were right by the loch edge which was an added bonus! A few midges but not too bad. Good location for driving about Glencoe, Fort William etc. No shop but village only a few miles away with shops, pub. I cannot wait to go back!
