We stayed for 4 nights over the October half-term school break and as previously mentioned the site and toilet areas are immaculate.

Whatever the hard standing is made from it gets everywhere so take some outside & inside mats.

Small gripe - our friends came to meet us to go out in our Motorhome for the day and they were charged £6.-- £2 each and £2 for the car a bit steep I thought.

No kids play area as a previous post mentioned and you can hear the drone of traffic from the A55.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this campsite, and will agree with all the reviews. The site is fantastic, very spacious, excellent facilities and great location. Showers and toilets immaculate, situated in a new shower/toilet block.

We had an electric hook up pitch, and there were 5 families who stayed with very young children, the quietness of the site was ideal for all of us.

There is an indian restaurant, fish and chip, kebab and pizza takeaway shop, pub and Spar about a 10 min drive from the site, which is ideal if you arrive after work on a Friday night!

Only complaint I did have was that the grass was too long on the field, but was explained by the owner - a caravan rally was due the following weekend and he was expecting about 38 caravans so wanted to keep the ground from being churned over too much. Normally the grass is short. At this time of year the ground was wet of a morning and night from the dew.

There are no facilities for the children, but as the tents are pitched around the edge of a large field, they had the middle of the field to play football and cricket without affecting other campers.

Excellent ground for tent pegs, went into the ground easily but had a good grip as my husband battled to pull them out again!

All in all a wonderful site, and excellent location. Will def be visiting again.

Lovely location, set in the North Wales countryside with views of fields and hills. Absolutely lovely clean toilet and shower blocks too - virtually new!

On the downside, do try and make sure that you get a hard pitch as you will be on a fair incline if you get one of the grass ones we did. Also, I've never seen caravans rammed in so tightly, unlike other sites I've been to that retain a feeling of spaciousness when full. A very close view of the rear window of the caravan in front of us is all we got.

A couple of things to remember when visiting the loos and showers - there is ONE toilet roll just inside the entrance so remember to grab your loo paper BEFORE going to your cubicle. Also, the owner will not buy soap for the sinks in there. We were told, in a very condescending manor, 'It's on order' when seasonal customers informed us that they couldn't ever remember seeing any. When we suggested that it was surely not hygienic doing this with swine flu about etc. And voiced our displeasure then the soaps miraculously appeared! They weren't replaced though :o(

Also, the roads are not tarmac so if the weather's dry then expect a fine covering of dust over your car and caravan upon your departure.

We stayed at this site for 4 nights, and had a very pleasant time, the field we stayed in was very spacious not over crowded and the ground was level and drained very well.

The price wasn't too bad either for 2 adults x2 kids and a dog, with tent and electric hookup 20 quid a night.

We found a mcdonalds and spar shop approx 3 mile drive away, and there are villages/towns either way on the A55 not far a drive away, sadly nothing much is walking distance, unless you fancy a good trek.

Would have been nice to be able to walk the dog off the site, but much care was needed to keep an ear out for any vehicles driving on the small windy country roads.

5 pound (deposit) required for ablutions

Take your own toilet paper,

Nice people nice site.

Ohh and if you have a caravan, watch for the height barrier because a really nice caravan drove into it, which wasn't a good start to there holiday.

P.S didn't find the kids play park as advertised.!

Loved this site. Quiet and rural. 3 fields with caravans, some stay all season, and a rally field which takes tents. Some hardstanding and some grass in tourer area. Toilet block looked brand new and very clean. Loo roll is outside the loos so remember to take some in with you. I forgot nearly every time !Barrier to enter has to be raised to let in caravans only 6 foot 6 inches when shut. Friendly staff. You need a car for this site.Cost £ 34 for 2 nights in high season. Would come again.

Excellent camp site, not many tents there when we first arrived but it got busier the next day, still plenty of room for the kids to play though. Showers and toilets where really clean. We stayed for 3 nights and found it a good base for days out. We would definitely return here again although it was a bit expensive to say there was nothing on the site.

Very nice tent field well laid out with electric hook up points all round, very clean toilet and shower area. Spent three nights from 19/7/09. Hardly any other tents on site. No shop or pub on site and the nearest village was a long walk off.

Only problem was the farm across the road, which has a dog that did nothing but bark and howl all night long, and I mean all night.

Our first visit - we pitched in the rally field, and couldn't believe how well the ground drained when it rained - no mud anywhere. Toilet/showerblock and washing-up area were spotless, and hot water plentiful. Got into the habit of taking our own toilet rolls on visits to toilet block, as the only dispenser is outside the cubicles. Yes, the hoarse cockerel is there, but that's just part of the atmosphere!

Just spent the weekend at Penisar, we needed to find an easily accessed site as we were taking two grandchildren, and one isn't a good traveller, so we picked this one based on other reviews.

Paid £48 for two nights; (expensive for us) for two tents, one gazebo, this was for 4 adults, one 7 year old and an under three (who went free). Pitches were flat and roomy.

Loads of room for the little ones to play, ball games, frisbees, big bubbles etc

Quiet location but got busy, but not kept awake by anyone, we did however got woken up on Sunday morning before 8, as its a 12 noon depart and some campers had lots to pack away.

Clean and tidy right across the site, toilets and hot showers good, but remember to take your toilet roll, £5 deposit required for the key

Great fish and chip shop in the village of Dyserth ( four minutes away by car)

Sainsbury's is 15 minutes away, out on the Rhyl road.

Only issue was the height barrier, we were using a high mini bus, couldn't always get off site when we wanted to as the barrier was down and the office closed, site staff suggested we use their car park outside the office and barrier which worked fine.

All in all a good weekend, staff were really helpful and polite, would recommend this site to anyone with little ones who needs a good clean and flat site.

A very nice and clean site located off the A55 at junction 29 so easy access to all of North Wales.

All the showers and toilet blocks were clean and spotless at all times.

There is no shop on site so stock up with provisions but there is a Asda , Morrisons and Sainsburys store at Rhyll and a Costcutter at junction 27 A55 , locally the Spar shop down the lane is handy for emergency shopping.

We would recommend a visit here and we will return in the future.
