Just got back from spending 6 nights on this site. Its one of the best sites that we have stayed on. It is an Adult Only Site which was a bonus for us.
On arrival your name is on the gate with your pitch number, so you just drive on and set up, (makes a change not to be ask for money as soon as you turn up!) It is a very well kept site and the pitches are very generous,
The shower and toilet are basic but very clean. The owners sell free range eggs and home-made fruit cake etc, of which the money goes to local church. All the produce is First Class.
North Walsham is only a 5 mins drive to buy supplies etc. We found a good beach at Cart Gap, which was very good, Penny our cocker spaniel like that part of the holiday the best.
Will return to this site

What a lovely site this is. Very well kept, and very spacious pitches. TV reception was very poor at the time we visited, especially along the top edge of the site under the trees. This may of changed now due to the digital switch over, but be prepared. Shower and toilet facilities were basic but clean.
The owner is very relaxed about collecting your money, it took two days to pay our fees! It was lovely to visit a site where there were no children screaming, and apart from a little road noise, the site was very peaceful.
We also had our dog with us, and although the site enforces a 'keep dogs on short leads' policy, they have a paddock on the edge of the site, which they allow the dogs to be exercised in off leads when the horses are not there.
We will definitely be returning to this gem of a site, it is a great base for touring many parts of Norfolk.

Great little site. Totally uncrowded, quiet. We chose it because it's adults only. Nothing against children, it's just that Claire works in a primary school. A change is as good as a rest.
Toilets and showers very clean. Lawns nicely cut and cleared. Owner, June Hannant, makes and sells marmalade and brilliant fruit cakes and sells eggs, to raise money for local church.
A nice walk into North Walsham via Mill Lane, not much traffic. I made it a tad over 2 miles to the church.
We made an attempt to walk to the beach near Bacton/Keswick. According to Google Earth, a tad over 3 miles. No footpath and lots of traffic, seemed too dangerous. We passed the turning to Mill Road, about 100 yds, turned round and decided to walk to North Walsham via Mill Lane.
We got a bus to Mundesley, £3:40 each, return. Beach was very clean and very uncrowded. We went during Easter holidays, midweek, weather was unseasonal, extremely warm and dry.
North Walsham has a good number of local shops and at least 3 supermarkets. A good number of restaurants, fish and chips etc.
We would definitely return to this site.

The site was lovely and tranquil. Everyone there was very helpful and friendly and helped us out when we had a few issues with our caravan. We was on pitch 4 which gave us a lovely view of the whole site and the countryside around us. There was no mud patches and plenty of grass all around us. The toilets/shower was very clean and well maintained like the whole site.
Thank you David and June for all your help especially in letting us stay later which was a great help. I would recommend this site to anyone and everyone looking for a quiet, friendly and helpful holiday.

We found that Stoney brook was a small but friendly site with all the facilities within easy reach, they were well maintained and were cleaned on a daily basis. We found that most of the other campers were not only friendly but very helpful and were told by them that as it was a small site it was advisable to pre book a pitch, which most of the other campers had. We intend to make a return visit in 2011. We also feel that the tariff is very reasonable for the area and would recommend it to anybody who wants a relaxing holiday as there are very few rules. North Walsham is a very nice little shopping area with shops that cater for every taste. The seaside is just a few mins drive from the site. Finally we would like to thank David & June for making our holiday so enjoyable

This site is a lovely tranquil little place with woods nearby with way marked walks but I'm afraid from the off our holiday was marred.
I had this site booked for well over a year and I was looking forward to it so much.
Our friends went a day earlier than us but wouldn't have stayed if they had been on their own.
When they arrived they found, they had been allocated the worst pitch on site, there was no grass it was all mud. The owner said it had been like it all year, someone had used a non breathable ground sheet. Our friends asked to move but were told that the other pitches were booked up, even though throughout the week some became vacant.
It seemed the obvious thing to use that pitch for short stays and let it rest some of the time. The owner told them to move down and park the van over the mud, but it was such a large area that when their neighbours arrived they were not best pleased as they were squashed in a corner.
Our pitch was only a little better and we had to place the caravan over a damp bare patch, the grass is not very tight knit in this area and soon gets muddy in the awning when it rains. We didn't use a groundsheet at all as we didn't want it to get it filthy.
Ask to be put anywhere but pitches 4, 5 or 6 along the back by the trees the grass seems to stay very wet all the time, the other pitches appear to be lovely.
The toilets and showers on site were were hot, and kept clean by wardens who were caretaking as the owners went away on the Sunday.
There are some quiet roads here and there but the road past the site to North Walsham is narrow and people use it like a race track, we had taken our bikes but didn't use them.
T. V reception is very poor so you will need back up.
The beach at Walcott is lovely and part of it is dog friendly, there is an excellent chippy there.
The nearest pub is the Bluebell though not walk able, serves nice meals although a little pricey. The Duke of Wellington at Bacton has live music, serves meals and has a regular carvery.
To sum up, I would recommend this site, it is inexpensive, for the most part tranquil and very tidy but I was very disappointed with the condition and position of our pitches despite having been booked for so long and the fact that they wouldn't let our friends move.
Owner's response: The complaint about PITCH 5 being muddy has been resolved by removing tree near pitch. Very wet month when Janx was there.
Complaint about bare patch on PITCH 6: Previous visitor on for 3 weeks with breathable ground sheet which was inaffective. We could not offer other pitches as all were pre booked.
Re the narrow road. Our site is a lovely location in the country with a (two-car width) country road past the site. About half of our visitors bring bikes and use them. TV RECEPTION. Satellite reception is good. Some large trees have been removed to assist in other forms of reception.

What a fantastic find. Such a beautiful and peaceful site. We found that most of the people there were regulars, most were very friendly and couldn't help you enough with information etc.
Very Dog friendly and the owners really took care of the site. The toilets were clean and there was a mop provided for you to wipe the shower floor with, which most people used.
Owners also sell their own eggs (well their chickens) and the hens are roaming round free all day (Dog owners please take note, because ours was straining at the leash)!
Bacton woods is nearby and in the evening there is a paddock where you can take your Dogs to exercise and for the last wee of the night! There are so many beautiful places nearby, we even managed to find parts of the coastline where Dogs were allowed on the beach. Can thoroughly recommend 'Overstrand' which is a beautiful sandy beach.
We shall be returning in the near future, it is very inexpensive and a wonderful place! If you want sheer peace and tranquillity, we just cannot recommend this enough!

We stopped at this site for 6 nights. It was absolutely brilliant. We have never seen a site so clean and tidy. The field is immaculate it is a shame to drive cars and caravans over it!
The owners are very nice as well nothing is too much trouble. With lots of lovely scenery we will be going back even though its 200 miles away. The owners clean the toilets themselves and a good job they do. And the 12 hook-ups are very wide apart so no chance of being too close to the next caravan.

We have just spent a delightful 5 days at this site. The owners met us on arrival and were very helpful and pleasant. The site is very nicely landscaped with lovely views over the surrounding countryside.
Being an adults only site it is very peaceful and quiet, allowing opportunities to relax.
The toilet block was always very clean and there was lots of little brochures there about the locality.
The water tap was up a slight slope, which made it easy to push the full container back down to the caravan.
There are plenty of electric hook-ups.
North Walsham is very near - by, and it has several good shops and also a Sainsbury.
It is only a short drive to a beautiful beach and is very close to Cromer.
We would recommend the site and will definitely be back.

We are at the end of a 10 day break with our friends at this lovely site. On arrival one of the owners came straight over to meet & greet us (as he did with all arrivals), and told us of the site layout and local amenities.
As described, it is on a gentle slope, which is a good thing as we've had plenty of rain during our stay. I must say that the site has very good drainage. A slight uphill walk to get the water and an easy down hill stroll with a full barrel!
The toilet & shower block is at the top of site and the path to it is illuminated with solar lights in the evening. There is only one toilet and one shower in the gents, and two toilets one shower in the ladies. We always found the toilets and showers to be clean and tidy. There is no extra charge for the showers and they are powerful and hot (very nice after a long day out).
The owners left fresh free-range eggs outside the toilet block with a honesty box to pay for them.
The location of the site is brilliant for exploring this part of Norfolk, with loads of interesting places to visit.
On the whole, Stoney Brook is a peaceful relaxing site with pleasant views over the surrounding countryside.
Highly recommended, and excellent value for money. Even Norm liked it! we'll be back!
