This a lovely small and friendly caravan site. The owners are extremely friendly and try to accomodate any passing campers-(even during busy Bank Holiday)
Very basic facilities but always clean.
A few children on the site who were playing on bikes and exploring the site.
Lovely pub over the road and nice canal walks as you step out of the site entrance. The Lancaster Canal boat company offer free canal trips every Sunday.
Kendal & Kirkby Lonsdale only 6 miles away. So many things to do whilst staying here.
This is our 3rd year using this site-cheap, cheerful and clean-reluctant to go elsewhere.

Just come back from a weekend at Little Acre. We spent the Aug bank holiday there, I organised a camping trip for 8 tent pitches and a tourer, this was booked in Feb with the owner who kindly agreed to take the advance booking. The owners daughter who runs the site thought our tents were too large and made a strong point of it! The entrance to the tent and tourer field has quite a narrow gate so beware if you have a large outfit, the owners were very impatient with my husband and quite rude when he went in slowly putting him under even more pressure. The shower trickled hot water and was inadequate for the number of people on site. They do not cater for children and "no ball games signs everywhere", what do children do all day on a field with space?? I didnt feel welcome at all. On the plus side the sites in a lovely location with free canal boat trips on Sun and bank hol 11am til 4pm, and the Crooklands Hotel is across the road which does nice pub food.

This site isn't a member of caravan and camping club - just a listed site - it's only £12 a night no matter how many of you or what you are in. I would say it's no more than three minutes from the M6, a good stopover. No shop or shop you can walk to but there is the pub. There's the canal for fishing but nothing much for kids to do - no play area or anything like that. Facilities basic but clean. Showers cost 20p. Wouldn't spend more than a night as nothing for kids - no bike trails / play park - just the field - I am sure it said no ball games either.

Have been to this site several times during 2006 and find it a well cared for site. Hard standing for tourers with electric hook up. The owner Mr Parker makes you very welcome and is very helpful. I will be returning several times in 2007.

This was my second trip to Little Acre and I love it! It is very basic, so no good for newbies I fear. The site owner is very welcoming and obliging - no 'must vacate by noon' rules here! The tenting field is small but has lovely views and the small size means that you are never far from the loo (always a concern of mine!). The facilities are basic but work fine, although it was a little surreal to step out of the loos at 3am to find a lady standing there in her slippers with a mop and bucket (the housekeeper out of Father Ted springs to mind!) The Crosslands Hotel across the road is a lovely pub that is all lit up at night. We haven't eaten there but the food certainly looked tempting. You can have a drink outside if the weather is ok - otherwise there is a snug interior waiting to warm you up.

I went looking around the area to find a site for a rally I am booking for the August bank holiday weekend. I found this site by accident, it is only 10 mins away from the M6 so an excellent stop over for visitors to the North. The site is owned by Mr Parker who lives on site in the bungalow. The site is very well cared for, the touring pitches are on hardstanding with electric hook-up, he also has a couple of seasonal tourers. He has a flat tent field which has its own shower/toilet and washing up area, he is in the process of putting a new shower in and it looks like its going to be modern. There is also another toilet/shower block at the other side of the touring field. The site is close to the canal so lots of lovely walks, across the road is a large hotel/pub which does meals. The location is excellent for the Lakes and the seaside,Kirkby Lonsdale and Skipton not too far away. The site is a member of the caravanning & camping friendly club but takes non members too.
