I took my 3 kids here for a couple of nights and they loved it! (As did I).
The site is small and basic but had all we needed, (A place to wash-up, toilet block and a shower). Being next to the cows was amazing! the kids especially liked seeing the cows in the field each morning.
There are shops etc in Charmouth which was ten minutes away in the car. Not to mention an ideal base camp for fossil hunting.
The owners are very friendly and so helpful.
Will definitely go back here!

My husband and I stayed here just recently along with our 2 dogs. We had mixed feelings about this campsite - we really liked it's quiet location and small but roomy pitching field. The field views were very pretty and it was nice watching the cows in their daily routine. However the cows did attract quite a few flies and the facilities were not good - the shower was a very cold dribble and there was no toilet paper in the toilet until we complained and no light in the toilet which made it a bit tricky when going to the toilet at night! We didn't mind too much as we like to camp wild sometimes and we only staying 3 nights here but having said that we did pay £13 per night and did expect facilities that worked!
"Owner's comments: Hi there, very sorry to hear your stay wasn't up to scratch and would like to take this opportunity to rectify that! We have replaced the bulb in the loo a simple thing in the end - although I did call out the electrician as it is quite high up and I didn't know what was wrong with it! The shower has now been replaced it was an intermittent fault so I would go up turn it on and it would come hot and so I assumed people were having problems on how to work it so I put up new instructions! My son in law is a plumber and he came out after work and took it apart only to find the heating element all furred up and so that would explain the hot cold and loss of pressure! We have moved up the boiler from the mobile home and it is now working on gas via a thermostat so hot showers all round again! I would like to offer you a chance to return in September or later when our new all singing and dancing shower block will be finished with washing up area and vanity area. Also the diner will be back up and running for meals, breakfasts and site events like family bbqs and cheese and wine evenings curry nights etc So please do come and visit again to give us the chance to show you our real hospitality and what we are about. Hope you can make it"

This site is small and rather smelly being just a roped off corner of a large cow field. There were a lot of flies buzzing around and in the heat of the summer the smell was bad.
We found the portacabin facilities to be damp and we were unable to get the shower to work other than with cold water. We spoke to the site owner who blamed it on children messing with the dials although these were high up and not easily accessible to even small adults. She advised us she is making the site adults only as it is not suitable for children and there did seem nowhere for them to play. As stated before the site is small and the vans are rather crammed in.
The site is in a lovely part of the country however the access with a caravan was hair raising - they are the narrowest country lanes we have even been down and went on for mile after mile. It took a good 25 minutes to get back to the main road for Lyme Regis so wasn't as handy as we had thought when we looked on the map. The nearest shop was at Charmouth - a 30 minute drive away.

We were very disappointed with this site - it was basically a very small bit of the cow field and smelly with lots of flies.
The facilities were also very smelly - the shower never worked other than a cold trickle, the lights didn't seem to work properly.
There was nothing for the kids to do and in fact there were lots of notices about telling us to keep our kids in order which we do of course. But ball games were banned and there was not enough spare grass anyway for them to play even badminton on.
It was not cheap and was n the middle of nowhere. On the map it looks handy for Lyme Regis etc but in reality the 4 mile drive takes 20-25 minutes down country lanes.

Lovely location although the roads were rather hair raising being small and winding for miles with very high hedges - we drove in second gear for ages beeping at every turn so not as handy for everywhere as we had thought it would be.
The facilities were tired, didn't use the shower as it was very smelly and we only stayed one night before moving on.
The site was tiny and so the pitches were small, we prefer more privacy and were paying a lot for not much really as we don't need electric.

We stayed here for one night in mid-September 2007 while cycle-touring. The site wasn't marked on the map, we were just fortunate enough to happen upon it between Shave Cross and Whitchurch Canonicorum. It cost us £6/night to stay there with our two-man tent.
Facilities are basic, just a toilet and shower and a tap in the field. We were the only campers there. The field was easy to pitch on, and we found it to be a pleasant little spot with pretty views towards nearby hills.
The location is quite hidden away so there are no noises from people or traffic, but our sleep was a bit disturbed due to a couple of owls holding an animated discussion outside our tent, and it also sounded like there were kennels nearby as there was rather a lot of barking. It seemed to settle down after a while though.
The owner was very friendly and chatty and we had a very pleasant stay.

Lovely peaceful hideaway site,in beautiful surroundings, sitting and watching the cows go in and out twice daily for milking at the farm was very theraputic!. Esther and Mike (owners) very friendly. Approach, even with their advice is via mainly single track lanes for about 3-4 miles, and you need to be careful, also access gate needs careful negotiation with longer vans, however, all this said, it will not stop us revisiting soon, as the peace, quiet and location in general, more than compensates. One toilet, one shower, located in new portacabin, clean and tidy and close to all pitches. Ground is a little uneven and grass was a little long, but E & M very relaxed about where you pitch. Shops, pubs, beach etc all within 15 mins drive, loads of excellent walking through the beautiful Marshwood Vale.
