We've recently bought our first caravan, after decades of tent camping.
We chose this small farm site because it's only 30 mins from home.
It was our first trip in our new van, and we classed this weekend as our ' dummy run'😀.
This site is exactly what it says on the tin- a working farm surrounded by open fields.
At £12 per night it represents good value, and that price includes your EHU.
The site is right next door to the farmhouse, and a small unfenced pond.
The owner of this site, Allan, is an absolute gentleman and helped us enormously.
We didn't have a handle for our roller water carrier, and he actually went into one of his barns and found one for us. , adding that we could have it because he had plenty of spares!
How many site owners would do that?😀
The toilets are very basic, but functional, EHU points are plentiful, and fresh water and chemical disposal points, all perfectly fine.
Site is Handy for Southport, and Chorley, and is 5 mins from the M6 junction.
You get what you pay for with campsites, and if you pay £12 pn, you get basic facilities, which is all you really need.
No tents here- caravans and campervans.
We will return here, and cannot praise the owner enough.

Travelling north to Scotland we planned to break our journey here. Just off the motorway so very convenient.
Upon arrival, it was pitch dark, blowing hard and the rain was coming in horizontal!
Approached the hard standing and unfortunately mis-judged the approach allowing a front wheel to sink into some soft ground. No way out of that under our own steam. Adam then appeared with his tractor, attached a tow and quickly rescued us.
Later on as we were settling in, Adam appeared again with a bucket and mop and commenced to clean our motorhome where all the mud had been scattered along its sides. Still blowing hooli and raining. What a great and very much appreciated service.
Moss Lane has basic facilities (Water, Electric and waste disposal)and has a beautiful small lake with lots of wildlife; ducks etc.
If the wx had been better it would surely be a very pleasant place to stay. Once again Adam, thank you so much for all your kind assistance. S & B 'Bailey' 75-4 Motorhome

Very basic facilities but very clean. You get what you pay for.
Lovely size hardstanding pitch, which due to the rainfall we were extremely thankful for.
Very friendly staff.

Lovely welcome from Alan on arrival to us & two dogs.
Showed where everything was, the facilities were basic but not charged fancy facility price.
Would definitely go back to this lovely little site.

Love this little site. Super clean. Great spaced pitches. Really friendly owners, Alan & his wife Brenda. Always go out of their way to help you.
Lovely wildlife. Pretty pond with ducks & moorhens. Fields all around.
Facilities are basic, but it’s what you pay for, all you need is there, so that was fine for us.
A really peaceful place to stay & we’ll definitely be going there again.

We stayed here as a convenient stop off on our way south on the M6.
Unfortunatly it RAINED the whole time, but the hard standing pitch gave us no trouble.
We had a lovely welcome and it was a fantastic price at £12. The loo block is small and rough round the edges, but everything we needed and we were quite happy with it.
I'm sure that in better weather I could have been more impressed by the surroundings, the pond and the fields, but we never ventured out of the van.

Ducks and daffodils. This is a beautiful campsite, with very clean facilities and well maintained pitches.
A working farm be sure of a visit from ducks and cows, and a chat with the friendly owners. Situated close to a shop, cafe and pub.
Will definitely return here.

Although I had lived nearby for a number of years, I was totally unaware that this gem of a site existed. It is less than 5 minutes drive from Junc 27 of the M 6 (towards Parbold), turn right after the church.
The site is surrounded by open countryside but is only a 15 minute drive into Wigan and less than 10 minutes from Standish which has several supermarkets, fast food outlets and fish and chip shops.
Although the facilities are dated they are kept impeccably clean and the weekend we were there the site was quite full. Many of the people on site are regular visitors and some vans appear to be seasonal.
We will certainly be using this site whenever we are in the area.
