This is a lovely peaceful, pleasant site surrounding a lake which is ideal if you want peace and quiet. Although there are only a couple of toilets and a shower, this was fine for this small site, they were clean and appropriate to meet our needs.

We had a choice of pitch and chose a grass one on this occasion however I would check the weather forecast as there might be difficulties driving off the grass pitch if there is heavy rain.

However since it's a working farm and the owner who is a lovely man would be able to tow you off I am sure. Its inexpensive, £12 a night including electric and it's near to the motorway.

Not sure what the surrounding area is like as we did not venture from the site, but we will definitely use this site again.

Just returned from a weeks stay and found this a very pleasant site with all that I personally look for.

Toilet block is basic but very well looked after and the owners very pleasant and approachable. Handy for shops in Wigan, Ormskirk and Southport.

At £10. 00 per night I can't afford not to come again

We wanted a site near J27 M6 and chose this private site over others due to it having a shower block (others didn't). We made the right decision and will return when same requirements arise.

Grass well mown and flat hard-standing. Showers were good, although block not at all up to other more expensive sites.

We found the site well positions for Martin Mere wetland trust - we had a great da
y there.

This is a great little site - very well kept, spacious, and informal. The owner is most helpful and very friendly.

The facilities are basic but anything anything else I think would take away from the charm of the place. I've only given 6 for site facilities as they are basic but very clean.

Also, a 6 for children because whilst I think it's child friendly ie a lovely pond to play around and lots of space for games, I know some parents would be concerned because the pond isn't fenced and there is a working farm yard close by.

I would definitely recommend this site.

Lovely small basic site up a farm track just off the Motorway but within easy driving distance of Ormskirk and Burscough and Southport. Very friendly and helpful owner accommodates approx. 5 to 10 units.

Hardstandings now in place with hook up for £10. 00 per night and nice grassy areas - but so picturesque with open views and a pond which the owner of the site will allow you to fish free.

Two showers and two toilets under construction and a place to empty your chemical loo. Will definitely be going again soon. Very popular with one night stop overs as only 3 miles from Junction 27 of the M6 motorway.

Only downside if you have a family is not really suitable area for children as pond is not fenced off and it is a working farm but for adults it is excellent value

This is an un-affiliated 5 van site with plenty of room, hook-ups and choices of pitch. Currently there are no hard standings but there are plans for them this year. The owners are very welcoming and friendly, during my visit there were two 'regulars' staying, one had been using the site for over 30 years. It seems most bookings are return visits and word of mouth, they don't seem to advertise at all. Very peaceful site will views across fields and a small fishing pond (free).

There are very basic (but clean) toilet and shower facilities, provision for recycling and an honesty box next to the supply of fresh eggs. Charge has just gone up to £10 pupn.

The site is easy to find and close to J27 of the M6. Second right off the Southport road, and about 1 mile along, turn right into farm lane immediately after council depot on the left. The drive is about 200 yards to site on the right before you reach the farmyard. Post code took me right up the drive into the site on my Sat. Nav.
