 We visited Cefn Cae camp site for 5 nights over the Easter holidays in our small caravan. It was exactly what we had hoped for. The camping field is in a lovely setting, on a working farm with sheep, lambs, chickens and the odd pheasant! it is surrounded by public footpaths that criss cross the fields and surrounding hills. It is surrounded by beautiful dry stone walls. Our 4 year old loved going for an early morning walk in his pyjamas and wellies to explore the surrounding country side! The facilities are great - two large shower and toilet units in a newly converted outbuilding that were always spotless with free hot showers. This building also housed washing up facilities, a washing machine, fridge freezer and microwave.
Rowen itself is a beautiful little village. The Tŷ Gwyn pub is within easy walking distance. The food is basic but good, and the beer garden with its trees and small stream is perfect for an early evening drink and game of hide and seek.
We had a fantastic relaxing holiday that was made even more so by the warm welcome from the owners and their young children. They were always happy to help and made us feel at home. We will definitely be back and can confidently recommend this site to anyone looking for a relaxing quiet break in the country.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this campsite and loved it! The site is a small site with 10 pitches, perfect for what we were looking for. A great - get away from it all - place to go.
The facilities were clean, two shower rooms with toilet, plenty of room to change and the showers were free and hot. There is a big field next to the camping field where our two children of 9 and 8 went to play, loads of room for them to run around and explore.
There are walks around the campsite and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The views from the campsite are great. There is a pub within a 2 minute walk, serving great food and a lovely, idyllic beer garden where the kids can play and paddle in the stream. There is a small shop within walking distance down the road selling the essentials.
On travelling to the site - look out for the signs as they can be easily missed. Once you reach the pub, Ty Gwyn, turn immediately at the side of it.
Overall we were really pleased, as this site is a real find. We will definitely return as its a great place to get a real change of scenery. We have been camping for a few years now, and for a new site, everything was catered for. We felt this one is definitely worth a visit.
