A warm welcome at reception.
The site is split into an upper and lower level. The upper level contains the toilet/shower block and a few hard standing pitchs.
The lower level is more extensive and open and contains further hard standing pitches as well as extensive flat grassland areas for camping.
The River Spean runs adjacent to the site and offers magnificent walks along it's banks. Dog owners are made welcome.
A very short walk, or cycle, into the village will reveal two hotels (with restaurants and bars) and a small village shop.
Overall, a really pleasant little rural site nestled in the Laggan valley.

We have just spent a really great couple of short stays one going up to Skye and the other on way back, the site is so handy for the Highlands and Fort William, with a really lovely couple of owners,
Every thing is clean tidy and great loos, we will be back that's for sure thank you. Set on the banks of the river Spean and only a sort drive to Spean bridge the walks are great, Fort William has every thing needed for Banks food fuel and whisky.
Such a friendly site and ideal for campers.
Dogs are welcome on leads just as should be and the walks along the river bank with your dog is very rewarding, try it you will not be sorry I promise. Ray Kay and Rusty.

An excellent campsite with good, clean facilities in a lovely location. Just off the main road and down a quiet wooded lane.
The site borders the river with walks along the bank. Good area for walking, cycling or just exploring the region. Plenty of choices of pitches in two fields, one of which is by the river bank.
The staff were very helpful with good local knowledge and lots of information was available in reception.
The site is away from the main road and is promoted as a quiet site and indeed it was very quiet.

Lovely site. Several areas for pitching. We were near river under trees, despite many rainy days the ground was well drained. Pitches close to shower blocks.
Good showers, warm water. Plug socket in shower room for hairdryer, site owners will also charge things for you overnight - we left our camera batteries & mobiles with them. They also have a selection of books & games to borrow. Fridge freezer for free use, also washing machines - but didn't use as only away for 4 days.
It's about 30 mins drive from Fort William. The train station is 5 mins walk. Pubs about 10-15, though you have to walk quite a dark lane to get to the main road at night, so take a good torch!
I fully recommend a trip to the parallel roads up glen roy & not just because we stumbled across a film crew filming 'Salmon Fishing in the River Yemen' with Ewan McGregor!
All in all a lovely spot and great site.

Just returned from 8 nights. Mr & Mrs MacDonald were very welcoming. The site was fairly quiet which was exactly what we wanted
The toilets & showers were very good, the showers had lots of space so no wet clothes & towels. The only thing we could fault was that the hot water was turned off at 9pm
Plenty to do in the area & loads of pub food (but rather expensive)
A large Morrisons in Fort William filled all our needs plus reasonably priced fuel
The Roy Bridge VG grocers & the Spar in Spean Bridge had a supply of most things you may need
Will certainly go again if in the area

Very friendly owners (nothing is too much trouble) spotlessly clean toilets and showers, excellent amenities and very, very peaceful.
Two hotels and shop 5mins away, Fort William 20 min drive,Spean Bridge with Spar shop and pubs and hotels is a 10min drive, railway station 300metres.
River walks, forest walks and beautiful mountain scenery and not forgetting the wildlife, deer, ducks, woodpeckers, nuthatches, finches, tits, buzzards, eagles.
If it's peace and quiet your after then I recommend Bunroy caravan park.

We camped here the third week in April, and were very lucky with our weather! We only had light rain the morning we left. However the clear sunny days did lead to cold nights.
The site is easy to find off the main road - turn off opposite the Stronlossit Inn, and follow your nose.
It took us half a day from Lancashire to get there so it's well within reach of northern England.
The site is large but due to tiering and use of trees, it looks quite cosy. The welcome from the owners was warm and friendly; we received a handy sheet with a map of the site and were advised where to pitch.
The camping area is a very flat well kept field which is served by a good solid road of chippings. You can therefore park right next to your tent, and have no worries of getting stuck on the field. Down one side of the field are hard standing pitches for caravans and motorhomes, all with hook ups. These are well spaced and uncrowded.
The field itself was uncrowded but at times we were the only tent there. The rules about noise were barely required - usually there were no lights on in other tens or vans far after sunset.
There was at least one stand pipe 30 seconds walk away, plus a couple of midgeater machines in evidence - luckily it was too early in the year to test them.
The site has about 100 metres of river bank where you can sit and watch the water and spot toads and stuff swimming around. It's deep enough to paddle in, and you could launch canoes from here with no difficulty; the water looked low and calm during our stay but obviously after heavy rain this will change dramatically.
The views are great - slightly affected by the trees along the river and the lie of the land, but you can see Aonach Mor quite clearly. Very very beautiful!
The toilet and amenities block were fine - basic but spotlessly clean and well maintained. We appreciated the fridge especially. The showers were hot but a little underpowered, and the toilets didn't seem to be heated. I think a wooden duckboard in the showers to keep feet off the cold tiles would be a good improvement. Otherwise - all facilities you'd expect were there.
The nearest pub is literally 5 minutes away (the Stronlossit) and it serves both fine beer and good food. We never went down to the hotel (another 5 minutes walk) as we were happy with the friendly staff at the Stronlossit. Most main courses under £10, and a couple of drinks were just over a fiver.
There is a small village shop - you could manage all week from it - but Spean Bridge 5 minutes drive away offers both a Spar, plus the best fish and chip shop I've been to for a long time.
In terms of things to do - well you can't move for hills and mountains if you like walking and climbing. We had three days out on Munroes; if you're not a walker but want views, try the gondola at NevisRange. We also visited western Loch Ness and the Highland Wildlife park at Kingussie - both pleasurable drives on scenic A roads.
There are no playgrounds or paddling pools for kids - but if your children prefer to make their own fun, it's a great place for them to run round and explore.
Overall - we'd love to go back for more, and recommend this site to anyone who wants a quiet well kept site, and who doesn't need to have their kids entertained for them. The best site I've stayed at!

Spent our first ever family camping trip on this site over the weekend for three nights. Lovely site and location.
Very well run with friendly and helpful owners. The site is well kept, set out well and nice and flat for tents.
Short walk to toilet, washing area which were kept clean and tidy all the time. Hot water always available for shower or cleaning dishes.
Lovely river walks around side of site for dogs or a spot of fishing. My eight year old daughter loved the place.
Excellent base camp for visiting main points of interest on west coast of Scotland.
Had a fantastic weekend and will definitely be back.

I visited this site for a week at the end of June. I found it to be friendly and very well run. The toilets/showers were in excellent condition.
There was a nice lake behind the field we chose to pitch up in; this also formed part of the designated dog walk which I enjoyed even though I didn't have my dog with me!
The site was very peaceful and there were no problems. Everyone stuck to the rules. I don't recall anyone ever having to be told to quieten down.
There is a laundry room which consists of a dryer and washer (these are coin operated). Included in this room are also a fridge and freezer which is great, free, service for your ice packs.
I found the location to be an excellent base for sight seeing if you don't mind the odd half hour drive. The best place we visited was Nevis Range which is about a 10 minute drive from the site and features Britains only mountain gondola system. The site is also a 20 minute drive from fort william and there is also a shop/pub in walking distance. This is an excellent site with plenty of attractions within easy reach.
The reception has boardgames and books to use which is a great idea.
There is an external wash/vegetable preparation area but I only used this to wash the pots as I was concerned about preparing vegetables in the outside what with the midges and all! There is also a roof over the sinks so you are kept dry if its raining.
I also noticed a train station right next to the campsite entrance though I never used it so don't have much information on this.
The only downside really are the midges which were out in force all week! As others have said Avon skin so soft is great though I did still get bitten. One of the locals did, however, say they are worse than ever at the moment!
Would visit this campsite again without hesitation.

Visited mid June for one night, very good site which was quiet and tucked away down a track off the main road through Roybridge. It was not busy while we were there and the toilet and shower block was clean and well maintained. The block is a few minutes walk from the main camping area.
There are two pubs in the village, we ate at the Stronlossit Inn which is at the top of the track leading to the campsite, the food was decent as was the service. Overall both pub and campsite are recommended.
