We have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Garden caravan site and my other half has not stopped talking about it! It is in a beautiful location, peaceful, and very well looked after. The owner is friendly, everything is very laid back.
When we arrived we just picked the pitch we fancied and paid him when we saw him.
Plenty of room on the pitches and TV points which we find is a must in Norfolk as reception is very poor in some areas, just remember to take your aerial lead.
There is no play area for the children but as we visited out of the school holiday period there were only small child about who seemed happy to play with their own toys.
A wonderful spot to enjoy your holiday, we would go back at any time, as far as I can see there are no negatives!

Just spent another week at this lovely, peaceful site. Weather was warm, sunny but windy, the wind did not bother us though as the site is set in a beautiful old walled garden.
The dog walk is a wood which our dog loved. She would have been happy walking around it all day. Beautiful beaches, dog friendly pubs, lots of places to visit, good walks.
You can also walk from the site to Syderstone using the field tracks. We did manage to get a TV signal but don't think they have switched over yet.
It was lovely listening to the birds in the morning. Hope to return later in the year if not definitely next year.

Lovely site, well laid out and well kept. Just enough attention to feel wanted but not at all intrusive. Honesty box for fridge and freezer, used the freezer for ice packs. Comprehensive tourist information and leaflets in office. The toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and showers were clean and roomy with no risk of wet clothes!
Centrally located for all sides of Norfolk, Wells, Sandringham and Cromer, and even Norwich within reasonable driving distance. The electric hookups & TV were there if needed. We camped in pitch 3 but did not think about which way the sun comes up.
Lovely in afternoon but shady in mornings which meant the tent took longer to dry when leaving! Would choose different pitch next time if possible for that reason.
However the pitches are all well spaced, plenty of room for car and tent. The shelter of the wall was good for windy days. Woodland walk was well used and grass was well kept, seemed to be cut after each person left.
Rated at 8/10 for facilities as nothing apparent for children which I suppose some would like but actually it had all we needed; a calm peaceful well kept place to relax! Oh except for the birds and that is hardly a negative!

Just spent the weekend here as we were visiting Burnham Market Horse Trials. This is a small lovely pretty site. It's all very relaxed as when you arrive you just look on a board to see what pitches are free - all pitches have electric and TV hook up - very useful if weather bad or children bored.
There is a little office with info on surrounding area which houses a freezer with ice creams in and a fridge with farm eggs and cold drinks, these you pay for by using the honesty box. I also used the freezer to store my freezer blocks in.
Warden came round later to take my pitch fees and was very friendly. The toilet block was very clean, warm and spacious as both myself and my 7 year old fitted into the very hot shower together - also a bonus if you are camping with a child on your own.
You will need to take most of your provisions with as the nearest shop is in Docking, Burnham Market is also quite close and I can recommedt the butchers.
There is room for the children to play but no playground, so equipment to keep them amused would be a good idea. I enjoyed the relaxed surroundings and walks that can be taken in the woods, also excellent for dog owners.
I must say that the birds are quite vocal! but that goes with the territory. We had excellent weather for our first trip out of the season and would definitely use this little gem of a site again

Just spent 7 nights at this lovely secluded, peaceful site. It was lovely to put awning up and down without any wind. Cannot wait to go back. Reading reviews beforehand - shops no problem - Burnham market lovely butchers, bakery and fishmonger only about 5 miles away lovely for couples perhaps children will get bored. Our golden retriever loved the dog walk. Pubs were great most welcomed dogs.Beaches - Brancaster & holkham - wells great. Bird watching fantastic. Hope to go back in spring.

Secluded location campsite approx 8 miles from Fakenham and 4 miles from Docking.
Nice peaceful sheltered setting approx 30 pitches with electric and tv point dogs allowed and very nice wooded dog walk.
Facilities on site include clean toilets, showers and washing up area.
Eggs ice creams and drinks available in site office (pay in honesty box).
Very laid back and friendly owner
Nearest shops etc in Docking(shop & chippie).
Larger shops and take aways in Fakenham.
Excellent base for touring north Norfolk.
The only negative is a few pitches are on the small side.
Would use again

What a lovely campsite this was, set inside a walled garden surrounded by a wood. Only 30 pitches 95% of them level. There was a well kept toilet block with the biggest toilet cubicles and shower cubicles I have ever come across at a campsite. In the corner of the field was a shed with info on local places but also a fridge and freezer for people to use, a fridge with drinks and eggs in for sale and a freezer with ice lollies in for sale, all with just and honesty tin to pay for them. The phone was the same just put your money in the tin.
On arrival you just set up and then the owner came around the next day for you to pay. He would walk around most days just chatting to people and was very helpful and friendly.
On the down side there was no shop near by only a small spar in docking about 4 miles away. But the campsite setting and friendliness made up for this downfall. Well worth a visit and would definitely go again.

All in all a good 1st trip out for our new tent. Our party was 2 adults, one 2 year old and a 5 man tent. Camp site is pretty with high walls, trees and flower beds. Both hook up and non serviced pitches for tents. We pitched on a serviced pitch and had both power and tv connections.
Most pitches are a little sloping, so pick well when wanting to pitch a tent - no so much of an issue for the caravanners. Site has clean toilet block with 2 showers, 2 toilets and wash basins in each. The site was about 30% full so never a problem waiting to use anything.
There is also a laundry room and washing up at the main block and rubbish collection points with drinking water at 2 locations. Eggs, ice creams and use of a freezer ( for a charge ) also available.
The 'dog walk' was a trail through the farm woods and on leads as there are free range chickens who pop out at you in the wood! Our little boy loved them. Only took us 20 mins with a toddler, so not very long walk.
Less positive points the site is far away from everything. We could not find the shop in Docking so had to go to Burnham Market for a local shop. Nice place with post office, pub, shop, off licence and fish mongers.
When in a tent the bird noise (roosting) morning and night is very loud - really nice for us but kept our little boy awake at night and woke him up at 5am each morning. Talking to the caravanners they didn't have a problem with it.
The pitches seemed to us to be close together but as it was not very full this was not a problem.
Nice site all round and peaceful. Would we go back? maybe but the driving to get to places did make trips out, days out rather than a few hours. Owner was nice and you are pretty much left to get on with it. It was nice for our little boy but bigger children may find it a bit dull if they are not into playing in woodland.

The campsite was very clean and tidy, but unfortunately well away and isolated from shops - nearest supermarket Fakenham around 16 miles away. The woodland walk was disappointing, only small and dogs had to be kept on a lead inside the wood. Showers adequate and basic laundry facilities. The whole area was unfortunately very anti dogs very few places allowing dogs in anywhere and long trips out mileage wise to get to any attractions.
Holkham beach very nice and dog friendly but still an hours drive away. Syderston has a very nice pub and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. The site has eggs and ices and brochures for places to visit. £17.50 with electric we thought was expensive for the facilities on offer.

We booked our pitch here, being advised by the earlier reviews, yet our experience was nothing like our fellow campers.
We were greeted by the owner in anger over the noise of our dogs, they were greeting fellow campers, which spoilt our weekend before it got going. This was followed by some fairly restrained conversations during our stay.
However, the walled pitches area is pleasant, with well manicured grass and carefully tended flower beds. The toilet block is an old outbuilding, adequate, but could be better for the price.
If you like tea rooms, as we do, then you will not be disappointed. We enjoyed several and wished we could have gone to others.
