Small family run site in a well kept walled garden surrounded by trees. 30 pitches in 4 areas separated by trees and shrubs, all with electric hook ups. Gate in wall leads to walks around the woods outside for dog walking. Reception has fridge with cold drinks and free range eggs and freezer with ice creams for which there is an honesty box, you can use the phone for a donation too. Plenty of tourist info leaflets and list of pubs serving food/ take aways.
Spar shop 8 mins drive away in Docking. Office is not always attended, but sign tells guests to pitch where they like (numbered pitches) - if you want 2 or 3 pitches together they may reserve pitches for you, just ask.
Toilet blocks very clean, 2 free hot showers, 4 loos and 3 separate sinks in ladies (handwash provided). Washing up facilities and laundry room with iron and board. Site almost full when we stayed but not noisy as everyone respected site rules. Would definitely recommend - hope to return soon.

What a lovely site. I agree with previous reviewers - the site is basic but with spotlessly clean facilities. The owner is a really nice guy - cheerful and welcoming and my two kids and I really enjoyed ourselves.

The site is very isolated ao you need a car to get to the villages for pubs etc, also, King's Lynn is a long way to go to buy any kit that you've forgotten to pack (always a feature of my first trip of the year!) and there isn't really anywhere nearer.

Charge is per person and very reasonable. Best of all, no extra charge for the pup tent that my daughter sleeps in.

I'll definitely head back soon.

Have just returned form our first visit to Garden Caravan Site (seven nights).

The site is easy to find and is tucked away behind a collection of farm buildings. The approach is narrow but easily negotiated.

The site is very well-kept with, as the name suggests, a garden 'feel' to the place: surrounded by a tall wall with lots of trees and shrubs. There is a slight slope in the middle of the site but enough flat areas for tents.

Reception, such as it is, contains a freezer and fridge from which (free range) eggs and ice creams can be purchased - leave your money in the 'honesty box'. There are also the usual tourist brochures as well as information on local pubs.

The facilities are adequate rather than exceptional although there is plenty of hot water in the free showers. There are only two showers (in the gents) for the whole site. However, I only had to wait once throughout the week - including a Bank Holiday.

The owner is a cheerful chap, always willing to stop for a chat, who encourages you to pitch first and then pay when you're ready.

There are no facilities for children i.E. Play area, pool, etc. And the clientelle was mostly middle-aged during our stay.

The site could be described as isolated as there are no shops or pubs within walking distance. This does mean that it is very quiet and peaceful.

There are good walks from the site taking in fields and forests although we didn't venture too far as the weather was awful!

A short drive will take you to Docking where there is a fish and chip shop and shops. We would recommend the Railway Inn for good food.

In summary: a quiet, well-maintained and friendly site mostly suited to those looking for a place to relax and tour the area.

This was our first weekend away with our four kids in a tent. We arrived on the fri at 6pm and pitched our tent where we wanted (this is what we was told to do on the phone) which was fine. We only had one other tent join us the whole weekend which was great, although the rest of the site had lots more on it. The owner came and greeted us but it wasnt til late on the sat night that he asked us for any money.
Everyone was very friendly and it felt a safe place for the kids to wander around. They really liked playing in the woods which was a stones throw from our tent. The woods also gave off some fantastic noises at night! two showers, clean and plenty of hot water, we never had to queue. Three sinks for washing the dishes. Glass bins provided and rubbish was always under control.
Beautiful, peaceful site. No over priced shops, amusments, or childrens play area, but we all loved it and if our kids aged 10, 9, 7 and 5 can keep themselves amused there then anybody can!

Another year gone, another review! Still a fantastic site. Only 3 visitors on the site - so nice and quiet. Don't let this put you off though, evidently over the Easter weekend they were full. Lovely and clean facilities and very safe for the children. Watch this space for feedback on our visit after Easter next year.

First time ever away in our tourer and we could not have picked a more lovely site to set up and learn the ropes. Owner very friendly and easy going and made us feel more than welcome, there was no rush to get us off at the end of our break.
Site very clean and very quite!
Will certainly visit again!

This is a small tranquil site with few facilities but a wonderful place to visit if you like peace and quiet. A very basic shop sells ice creams but the honesty box on the counter sums up the laid back and welcoming atmosphere of the site.

The site was very well maintained and is set in a beautiful walled garden of the adjacent farmhouse. There didn't appear to be any rules and our children happily created their own entertainment by playing cricket and badminton. Unlike other sites the daytime peace prevailed into the evening and there was no noticeable noise. Lots to do in the area, visit the Burnhams, Holkham Hall (free) and Holkham Beach. Overall we had a great short stay and would definitely return.

We have just got back from this campsite - and I would like to say how fantastic it was. My wife had phoned through on the day of arrival, and the owner explained that tents pitch on the left of the site, just as you enter. When we got there - we could pitch on the inner part of the site with everyone else. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

There is some nice hedges and shrubs all around the site - making it feel like you are camping in some kind of secret garden. We even ventured out into the wooded area at the back. The toilets and showers were adequate - as was the washing up area, with them all having sponges supplied to wipe down after use. The pitch we stayed on didn't have electric hook up - but there was that option if we wanted it. Our pitch was nice and level - but some of the others had a gentle slope to them.

There is a little cabin with a freezer to freeze your ice blocks, with a rack of information about the local area, with menu's for the local takeaways. There was facility for recycling your glass bottles etc - with the bin area always being remarkably free from rubbish.

If you are going on a Friday night, and plan to have fish and chips from the next village - get there before 8.30pm, as this is when the chippy shuts.

The beaches of Hunstanton, Sherringham etc were not far away. We would definitely consider going back to this campsite - it was very tranquil and quiet. My boys loved seeing the rabbits run around the front of the site.

Do not go to this site if you are looking for a rowdy site - with adventure playgrounds for the kids, and a shop that sells everything as you will be sorely disappointed - as that isn't what this site is about. Take some books and relax in the tranquil settings!

What a nice site, excellent amenities, plenty of electric hook ups for tents and caravans. You can get fee range eggs at the camp shop office. The site is enclosed by walls and trees, and there is plenty of room between each pitch. You don't have to pay for a shower, only 20 pence for hair dryer. It is a secure site, and the owner is a helpful, easy going sort of guy. Will I be going back, you bet. What a great site

Totally agree with everything the last reviewer has said - We arrived at the site on Easter Monday when most people had left or were leaving - It is a perfect place to chill out - It's close to the North Norfolk coast and has a good dog walk around the wood at the rear - Friendly owner with a laid-back attitude - No rush rush to get you off the site when you leave either - The only observation I will make is that if the site is full, I would think you may have to queue for the showers - We'll certainly be going back.

The site was listed as one of the ten best on the Tiscali home page recently.
