 It was our first time camping, so had no expectations. We had a great welcome from the farmer who directed us to the field, told us to pitch where we liked and gave us the relevant information.
The ground was muddy with lots of ruts, though we managed to find level ground. The site was very peaceful and relaxed.
There is a lovely babbling stream running down the side of the field, unfortunately the source of fearsome midges.
The ablutions are not for arachnophobics, basic, in need of a spring clean but they were not filthy and there was plenty of hot water.
Close to Machynlleth and very close to the CAT making this campsite ideal for visiting this very interesting and worthwhile centre.
For the two nights we stayed, it met our needs adequately and made for a great start to our touring holiday.

A beautiful medium sized campsite set in the valley of the river Dulas/Dovey. Friendly hosts and close to the centre of alternative technology. Facilities are sufficient, unless you are used to 9 star facilities. If you like 9 star, stay in a hotel. Marvellous walks and great for mountain bikes. A rare chance to have a camp fire. This site offers real camping. River, woods, walks, birds, peace, tranquillity. If you want marked out pitches and a warden, go somewhere else.
