We used this site as a one night stopover for our return journey down South. Warm and helpful welcome by the owner despite it being a busy Friday night with all the weekenders arriving. The site is easily reached off the main road and is the 2nd of the 2 sites tucked away by the river. We were given a pitch backing onto the river which was nice and quiet, handy for all facilities. The toilet/shower block and washing up/laundry area were one of the cleanest/best we used on our 2 week trip.
We did not walk into Dunkeld from the site as we had called in on the way to the site for food etc but there is an easy walk taking you under the A road.
Would use again as a stopover.

This is a great location, both for those staying in the area, and those overnighting en route to/from the north of Scotland, and a lovely riverside spot. This was our second stay here - the first early in the season, this one in full school holiday mode, but the staff were endlessly patient and helpful both times. We pitched down by the river amongst the tents where there was more space for our trailer.
The toilet block was immaculate despite the numbers using it, and there were plenty of bins and recycling facilities. The site road was narrow, with tent pegs and dogs close by, and no turning point at the end, so getting in and out takes care.
The 1-mile walk into Dunkeld is lovely, along the riverside and safely under the A9, with a good array of hostelries at the end of it. Take a torch if returning after dark.

Have visited this site twice great location dunkeld within walking distance along the river great walks and cycle trails a visit to the heritage was great especially after some rain the waterfall is great. Toilet and showers are kept very clean.Recycling facilities. Dunkeld has a good chip shop,co-op and a few shops. Only downside all pitches are on grass and can get very wet. No playpark for kids.

Site is on a lovely location but unfortunately is neither Tent or Children friendly. All tents are squashed into a tiny secluded corner of the site. I was surprised just how many were squeezed in .What made it all the more frustrating was that the caravan areas of the site were spacious and in fact big areas were unused.
It was frustrating that the kids on the camping area had NO area to play in and yet the caravans had large open spaces.
The walks/cycle route along the side of the river tay was lovely and the facilities on the site were in good /clean condition.
Overall though this is not a family friendly site( for campers at least). I am sure that people looking for a quiet caravan holiday in a gorgeous location will enjoy this site.

We spent 3 nights on this site in early May.
Arrived on site and were allowed to select our own pitch. We picked one next to the river. Unfortunately this meant we needed blocks for the corner steadies, which we did not have but the site was able to provide.
The site is an old farm which gives it a personality of its own. Very charming.
There are few facilities on site. Immaculate toilet block with good showers. There was also a laundry / dishwashing room which we did not use but noted there was a good tourist information area in there for anyone who does not know the area.
The location of this site is perfect for anyone wanting explore the surrounding areas. Located just off the A9 it is good as a base for exploring far afield by car / bike but for those wishing to explore on foot it could not be better. The Hermitage, Birnam Hill, the Tay River and other connected walks are less than half a mile away and you can walk to Dunkled without having to cross the road - there is a walkway beside the river.
Good site. Fantastic location.

Just returned from this site and stayed for five nights in our tourer. Very impressed with this clean and well maintained site. Pleasant welcome on arrival and was helped to push the van into position. Although no kids playpark and nothing on site, this is compensated by the fantastic walks to Dunkeld and Birnum, as well as the picturesque woods of the Hermitage Trail, with breathtaking scenery and waterfalls. Definitely be going back

Just returned from 4 nights at this smallish site which mostly caters to the caravans with 2 main areas and a largeish green space in the middle. Recycling was encouraged. Paper, Cardboard,White, Green, Brown glass and aluminium. Tent area was small as said in the other reviews and it seemed to have a slope to most of the pitches. Surrounded on 2 sides by the river which was quite noisy due to the heavy rains. My son loved trying his hand at fishing and on our last morning he caught a small brown trout.
Toilets and showers were clean but I think it would probably get very busy if the site was full. Dish washing was inside with 3 good sized areas and a laundry area with sink and a single washer and drier. (£3.00 per wash and £2.00 per dry via tokens from the owners)
One thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned is that the railway is just up on the hill and creates some noise. It was certainly noticeable but not especially intrusive. If it is 100% peace and quite you are after this may not be your first choice.
We had an enjoyable stay but might not be our first choice if we go back to the area.

Found the other people on this site very helpful as only taken caravan out once before this trip. No play park for kids but they enjoyed themselves. Shower area very clean and warm, pitch wasn't the best but ok (most were better) very close to river, shallow where we were but a bit deeper at other places around site (need to watch small kids as ours fell in!), but will be going back soon very nice site.

Stayed at this site a few weeks ago and just got round to leaving a review.
Tent area quite small and no real view, however if you like camping next to the river you can get a nice spot here.
The weather was not great on our visit and at one point we thought we might need to move our tent as the river had swollen so high after very heavy rain. The site was quite busy and our tent is quite big, so a tip would be if you have a big family tent go early as you cannot book ahead on this site.
Toilet and shower block quite good, good hot showers and found it very clean. The shower area can get busy in peak times so best to go early or leave it til after 10 in the morning.
Nice quiet site and had no problems with noise. No shop on site either but Dunkeld and Birnam is not far away.
Positives - shower and toilet block ( as above), quiet site
Negatives, small area for tents and no real view.
Overall would go back at some point

Hi all, just thought I would leave a quick review. I have just spent a very relaxing couple of days at this campsite, the toilet/shower block is one if the cleanest and warmest ones I have come across in years of camping. Theirs not a on site shop which isn't a problem as Dunkeld is only 5 mins drive away or a 10 to 15 mins walk.
There are lovely walks along the river which are right on your doorstep. What else can I say the owner's where friendly and helpful I would highly recommend it, looking forward to my next visit.
