Just stayed at this lovely campsite over the weekend. A great find, stunning views of the sea, and mountains behind, lush green meadow and very under used so lots of space.

The site is all on a hill in both fields but level areas can be found. The toilets shower facilities are basic but very clean with hot water and well attended to, with loo role and soap etc. The farmer is a warm and helpful amn who deserves lots of business.

Local shops and a pub are approximately 1 mile away in either direction. Cost only £5/Adult £3/child and £2/car.

The views are what make this place, there is an incredible open view of the sea to one side and a mountain on the other.

Being neatly in the middle of the sea and the mountains does mean that the site is on a bit of a slope, however, and the wind got pretty terrible on our last night. We had to weigh the tent down with rocks.

The owner is great and very trusting; he didn't charge us until the last day.

The beach is within walking distance and it's a really lovely beach with nice sand. Also there's a really good walk around the mountain that overlooks the campsite with incredible views of the sea. To be honest I'm pretty surprised that in that scenery the only thing there is a little low-profile campsite, I would expect developers to buy up the place and turn it into a touring park or something.

There's not much in Penmaenmawr but there is a Spar.

Campsite stayed pretty quiet too although to be fair we were there in the week and not at the weekend. Leaving on Friday, quite a few other people turned up but for quite a while we basically had the field to ourselves.

Really good apart from the wind.

Me, my husband and our kids aged 9,6 and 4, stayed here for 3 nights. One of our reasons for choosing this site was based on the reviews we had already read on here, and I can only agree 100% with what has been previously said.

The owner was very friendly and we didn't have to pay until we were leaving. Rates were pretty good too - £5 for adults, £3 for kids and £2 for a car per night!

The views were fantastic, we opened our tent to a mountain view and if you looked the other way, a fantastic view of the sea.

We camped on the 2nd field as recommended on here, and although not perfectly flat it was fine. The kids loved all the space for them to run about and going to see the horses.

The shower block was fine - clean and working, which is what I expected as a first time camper. There was a dishwashing area at the side of the toilet block. The only downside was that, from where our pitch was we had to go downhill to the toilets, which meant uphill all the way back, but that was just down to where we had pitched and we will know better next time!

Another thing to consider when pitching is how open the space is. We pitched right in the middle and when the strong winds hit us on the third night we were wishing we had pitched close to the bushes.

The local area was really nice. In the village there was a SPAR, a chippy, post office and a bank, amongst other things.

I would recommend to anyone visiting, to go to Conwy for the day. Lots of things to do there, crabbing, boat rides, castle and Britains Smallest house!

In all, we had a great break and would definitely come back again!

As first time campers with 3 young girls we were thrilled with this campsite. The views were absolutely stunning with the Bay of Conwy below us and the mountains behind. Although facilities are basic they are very clean and the showers hot. You have to look around for a flat pitch and I recommend the top field.

The site owner is a lovely gentleman and made us very welcome.

The kids loved their stay here and found rope swings in the trees and horses in the fields next to us.

We will most definitely be going back soon.

We parked at the top of the second field. Fantastic views looking out to sea and the mountains behind.

Facilities at the campsite were poor though- only cold water in the sinks and the showers did not work properly. One day the shower went from luke warm to boiling hot. My husband gave up as he could not get any warm water. It also meant we had to boil water for washing dishes.

There is a very good restaurant in Penmaenmawr called The Gallois but you might need to book in advance. Also a good chippie in the next village Llanfairfechan with a pub opposite.

Some lovely walks nearby.

This campsite not having its own webpage made it very quiet and less well known

When we stayed there were only 2 other people there. As soon as we drove in we were greeted by a nice man who told us we didn't need to pay until morning. I thought it was really nice of him to trust us and not treat us any different as we are a young couple.

We found the fields a little too sloped for comfort but it actually made it easier to literally roll out of bed in the morning.

The toilet blocks were clean and well lit and bins were always empty. Although they could have done with using a wet rag and wiping up all the cobwebs off the roof lol. The showers though were so lovely, proper electric shower with temp control like you get at home.

The one thing though that will make me go again and again and again was the view. I cant describe how amazing it was. Its the nicest campsite I have ever stayed in. You could see miles and miles of sea and Puffin Island. Even though it rained all through our stay, it was a wonderful place and I'll be going again in August.

I forgot to mention, that behind you is snowdonia so you see huge mountains right up to the tent and every so often a few sheep walk past.

I recommend this to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

I was told I was the first camper this year as it had only opened on the 20th March. I camped on the first field and found it incredibly uneven. I camped at the top of the field by the hedge where it wasn't as bad. The facilities were a little dated but clean & well looked after. If possible I would try & camp on the 2nd field where it looks a lot more level.
The views are probably the best I've seen from a campsite in a while. Sea view, mountain view & a great view of puffin island. Prices I thought were very reasonable for a coastal site. Overall, I would definitely camp there again.

This site has a fabulous setting. The elevated position offers stunning sea views and the location is truly rural, the working farm is at the foot of a range of coastal hills.

Facilities are basic and at the time of our stay, clean and regulary maintained. A downside of the location is a sloping site, although flat areas can be found. Our pitch was on the lower of the two feilds and although sloping we were able to get comfortable, the higher field looked to have more level areas - Have a look around before you pitch.

Shops, Pubs etc. a 15 min walk away. Some late night noise; didnt affect our pitch but could have been a problem if closer. Our children, 7 and 3 had a good time able to roam and remain in view the large open feild. Good mix on site, small hiker, larger family and trailers tents.

We are a family of 5, consisting of my husband and I and three young boys aged 6, 4 and 18mths. The sort of campsite we look for is one with plenty of space, quiet, with basic facilities (to ensure quietness). This campsite fulfilled this superbly. There are two large fields to camp in and the site seems quite quiet but not dead. There is a toilet/shower block split off for male and female, cold water taps to fill water containers and a washing up sink. The facilities are basic but adequate, and the fields are slightly sloped. The view is breathtaking though, as it is slightly inclined above the bay you get a full panoramic view of the bay, with Puffin Island and Anglesey in the distance.

The owners are friendly and helpful and offer free ice pack freezing if required. The only downfall of our stay is we got inundated with a plague of flying ants when the weather hotted up, which did just seem to cling to the outside of the tent. This could have been due to the positioning of the tent, which was pitched at the top of the first field in the right corner. We were near the bushes and would try a different pitch next time, maybe more centrally located in the field. Despite this we really enjoyed our stay and would return there.
