This is a lovely little camp site.

The booking process was very straight forward and we received the code for the gate. Nice secure camp site. We camped in the smaller field by the hedge with a view across the valley. I had a lovely intimate feel about it. We waved at the owners but didn't meet them as is the relaxed nature of the site.

There are 3 showers and an additional loo. I did queue at peak times for the loo as if 3 people are showering there is only one ladies loo. The washing up facilities, rubbish disposal are fine and I also saw a freezer but we didn't use it.

There is a fantastic pub just outside the gates. Cider, ale and excellent menu. Suggest booking if you want to eat as it gets busy. There is another pub in the village - we didn't eat there as it looked a lot more expensive.

Lovely walks nearby and many red kites. A peaceful, enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Nice site with great views over the countryside. Saw red kites flying overhead. Clean toilets, showers and elsan point. Good sized EHU pitches on grass.

Nice dog friendly pub right next door selling local ales and ciders and also fresh eggs. We didn't eat there but the menu looked good.

Friendly site owner although we didn't meet him until the last day, as you just pull up and pitch where you like on arrival if you have paid up front.

Don't have children but it looked very child friendly with plenty of space for outdoor games and pigs and chickens on the farm.

Didn't have a chance to explore the area or village as the weather was wet when we were there for two days.

Would visit again if in the area.

A nice small camp site with fantastic views over the chilton hills very clean and tidy, quiet during the week gets busy at weekends but the site copes with the people only three showers but always good amount of hot water. Very central location for exploring the area close to the M40. The owners leave you alone to enjoy your holiday but are really friendly when you meet them would recommend this site.

 Facilities were always spotlessly clean

Andy and his team were extremely helpful and friendly

The pitches were a very generous size to ensure privacy

Beautiful views of the Chilterns and very quiet and peaceful

Easy access to the M40

Very easy to get to places of interest such as Henley and Marlow.

Dog friendly

Lovely site, very peaceful, showers and toilets very clean, well kept field, and very welcoming owner, just one point. There was no site notice at the entrance and because the entrance was like a house entrance, we overshot it. So a camping park sign would be a help. If we are in the area again we will most definitely use it again.

I am going to agree with the last two reviewers.

This is a very pleasant site set in beautiful countryside and adjacent to a pub that sells real ale from the cask - it has a beer festival next weekend. A ten minute walk downhill brings you to the delightful Three Horseshoes with the best pub garden I have ever visited.

The local walks are excellent and plenty of red kite spotting below Bledlow Ridge. Do visit the church of St Marys Radnage and take in the wall paintings which are unique.

The site is well kept with the grass cut short. Units are well spaced out but was a busy week-end as there were two large family reunions.

The basic facilities consists of 3 bathrooms containing shower WC & hand basin plus hand dryer. A separate block contains toilets for both men and women. Electrical hookup are available on most pitches but please note hardstanding pitches are in short supply.

The owners are reputed to be friendly and helpful but we didn't see them which enhanced the relaxed but secure atmosphere of the site.

Would recommend this site

This is a very pleasant site set in beautiful countryside and adjacent to a pub. Entrance to the site is via a key pad operated gate(entrance code supplied prior to arrival)

The site caters for both caravanners and tent campers.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and well organised having an online booking service.

Would recommend this site

Very friendly site. Good facilities and a great location. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking again for next year. Booking online was really easy and the emails from the site were very clear and informative. The pub next door was a great bonus with a warm welcome, great food and real beer.

Just got back from a 3 night stay at this site. Sadly I would not choose to stay here again.

After receiving a text with instructions on how to find the site and a code for the security gates all seemed good. On arrival we had the option of choosing where we pitched so we chose the second field which had beautiful views, grass seemed well kept and there seemed to be plenty of hook up points, unfortunately it went downhill from there!?!?!

The fence to divide the second field in half is literally falling apart with a massive section missing and when one of my children lent against it, it nearly fell over. The outside wash up area is probably the worst I have seen (luckily as we were in a caravan we used our own sink - which we don't usually do, but these were that disgusting we had no choice) The poor people staying in tents had no option, the sinks were dirty and full of food debris and were not cleaned the 4 days we were there, there is no overhead cover so if it's raining you will get wet, there is a fresh water tap adjacent to the sinks. As you walk past the run down stable block you are faced with a a building housing the 3 shower cubicles and next to this is a tin shed with one ladies toilet (no hot water) and and mans section with 2 toilets and urinals. The showers are probably the worst I have come across, apart from being filthy with so much mold and built up dirt on all the showers taps etc there is a mop bucket with black water in that you're supposed to use - honestly it was disgusting, there are no female sanitation bins, one shower cubicle didn't have a mirror, the flow of water is so slow it takes forever to wash and the water fluctuates from freezing cold to boiling hot - unsuitable for children. Apparently there is under floor heating - I cant say I noticed this the floor was usually wet and freezing cold.

The chemical waste is an outside toilet right next door to the ladies green tin shed - not very pleasant or private, and we still haven't found the waste water disposable point.

There is no play equipment for children i. E climbing frame / goal posts - so kids were quite bored and had to improvise and use our chairs.

One family staying with a dog decided not to clean up after it so the mess was left on the floor (this isn't the sites fault), but still thought I should mention it especially when children are running around playing.

After receiving our text with instructions we presumed at some point we might see the owners. This never happened for the 4 days we were there the only people we saw were other guests and someone in one of the outbuildings working with lawnmowers, I find that quite often it's the staff / owners who make you feel welcome and relaxed. I have never been to site and never seen them. Very strange.

All in all this could be a brilliant little site, however in it's current state I am afraid we will sadly not be returning.
Management response:
The fence to divide the second field in half is literally falling apart with
a massive section missing and when one of my children lent against it, it nearly
fell over. This fence was damaged a few weeks before, due to recent storms we
did have to wait just a couple of weeks for supplies but it has now all been
fully replaced.

The outside wash up area is probably the worst I have seen. We have added
a picture so as people can make up their own minds on this one!

The showers are probably the worst I have come across, Again we have added
a picture so people can judge for themselves.

There are no female sanitation bins, We've been here 7 years and all that
time there has been one in each shower room and one in the ladies loo too. They
were present during your stay!

One shower cubicle didn't have a mirror, You are quite right, sadly it got
broken by a very recent visitor by accident, it to has now been replaced, sorry
it took 2 weeks, we assumed five others available may have been OK.

The flow of water is so slow it takes forever to wash and the water
fluctuates from freezing cold to boiling hot - unsuitable for children. It was
found that the valve was only just open. Sad you did not tell us. Our text
number is outside the showers! We do also suffer from low water pressure at some
points and new main in the road has been quoted for and is awaiting
installation.

Apparently there is under floor heating - I cant say I noticed this the floor
was usually wet and freezing cold. After inspection we noticed that one of
the shower rooms was not working, now fixed, the others however were all fully
operational.

The chemical waste is an outside toilet right next door to the ladies green
tin shed - not very pleasant or private, You are the first to object to this,
OZ Clark, Paul Daniels, and Hugh Denis did not complain.

We still haven't found the waste water disposable point, I would say I'll
tell you next time where it is but maybe not!!!

There is no play equipment for children i. E climbing frame / goal posts - so
kids were quite bored and had to improvise and use our chairs. There are
playing fields a few mins walk up the road, these have football, rugby,
basketball pitches and swings, climbing frame, and slide, they are listed on our
web site and we would have told you had you asked. Also we have a massive meadow
where most children have hours of fun playing and improvising, Sorry but neither
we nor the local planners would wish to spoil our beautiful countryside with
Goals, perhaps Butlins may have proved more your thing.

One family staying with a dog decided not to clean up after it so the mess
was left on the floor (this isn't the sites fault), but still thought I should
mention it especially when children are running around playing. It would have
been good if you had informed us, we would have cleared it up immediately. You
did not advise us at all, but thought you should mention on here!

After receiving our text with instructions we presumed at some point we might
see the owners. This never happened for the 4 days we were there the only people
we saw were other guests and someone in one of the outbuildings working with
lawnmowers, I find that quite often it's the staff / owners who make you feel
welcome and relaxed. I have never been to site and never seen them. Very
strange. The site office is open every day, there is a sign as you enter
saying please report to reception, you choose to not come and see us, sorry we
don't go knocking on peoples doors as that's not what everyone wants. It is a
small family run, non commercial farm site, fabulous views, clean facilities
(see pics) and a Pub next door.

Sorry you had a bad time, but please don't come back expecting Butlins! as
that's not what the vast majority of our visitors want!

Best Regards, Andy

Really love this campsite! It's quite basic but that's part of its Charm! The loos, showers and washing up areas are perfectly clean but quite basic. We go there for the views, they are absolutely stunning! I could just sit back and look at that scenery for days! Lovely environment. Will definitely return!
