Biker friendly site, the new owner was very welcoming and stated that the campsite and facilities were in line for refurbishment. The facilities are adequate but do need upgraded. Only 10 minutes walk from Thurso town centre, the views over the bay to Dunnet Head are also a big plus with easy access to the Orkney ferry terminal.

I stayed here 3 nights in late August. Hardly anyone on the site yet what a view! Straight across the bay to Orkney. Made the mistake of pitching right up to the cliff edge side which meant people often walked past with dogs in the evening.
Plenty of facilities in the town which is a short walk away or shopping at Aldi just over the road. The warden who was very welcoming ,is only on site a few hours. If you turn up just pitch your tent and see her later. Washing and showers are very good and the site is great value for money. The Orkney ferry is only 10 minutes cycle away.

Cheap and cheerful site. Very basic facilities, which the price reflects. A little noise from main road, but nothing too bad. Would chose this site again, because of its price nothing else. Does need money spending on it, but staff were really friendly.

I stayed two nights over the first May bank holiday with small tent and myself.

Situated perfectly for ferries to Orkney and general touring in the north of Scotland.Very handy for Thurso town centre.

The warden was very helpful but was only on duty three hours morning and evening.

Shower block and facilities adequate but nothing special.

This is a site that has seen better days and is not a patch on a number of nearby sites.

Very noisy due to adjacent main road and the fact that the local youngsters were using the site as a playground. No sleep at all, first night.Off site noise until after 0400 the following morning!

Money needs to be spent on this site, which look dismal at the moment.

For the time being at least, I will not be using this site.

Located on the coast (rocks not sand) off the main road into Thurso from the west.

Clean and adequate facilities - plenty of showers (free).

Lots of hook up points, area reserved for tents only.

Restaurant on site but it closed at 6:30pm on the night that we stayed.

A bit pricey at £13.50 (inc hook up) for a camper van but a nice place to rest and watch the ferries go to and from the islands.
