Lovely site, very friendly staff, we had a pitch on the top terrace, with magnificent views over the loch. I loved the showers, with shower and sink inside of one cubicle, so you could do everything you needed to in private! The motorhome service point was the best I have ever encountered, park in the bay, fill with fresh water, empty waste and also a hose to wash down the van, it was fantastic! The lady in the shop was very helpful with local and fishing information. You can fish in the loch and launch boats from thier private slipway. Well equipped laundry, with handwashing sink and a free spinner, which was handy for few small items. As keen sea fishermen, we enjoyed a few hours fishing in the loch, and watching / hearing the seal! Also in Fort William, we went on a boat trip to see the seals which was very good and then caught fresh Mackerel in the loch, which we enjoyed on the barbecue that evening. Dont forget the insect repellent though as there are millions of midges! I have already booked for next year!

Just had third visit here twice in lodge once in caravan.Lodges are outstanding with excellent views and equipped to a very high standard only complaint would be lack of basic cleaning stuff ie only 1 dishwashing tablet provided for a 1week stay !Staff have always been very polite friendly and keen to help.Overall the site is beautiful and obviously well maintained ,would not repeat the caravan stay as although adequate caravan was basic and fairly well used ! Will definitely return to a lodge and maybe even take the tent sometime although pitches looked too small for our large tent and did not see any electric hook-ups for tents.Overall great holiday location.

We have just stayed a week at this campsite and we enjoyed our holiday and even the bad weather (and blown off roof vent) didn't put us off.
The facilities on this site were excellent. The toilets and showers were immaculate and it's one of the best we have been to.
The staff were also helpful too when we had a problem with our electrical hookup and they also let us borrow a screwdriver to put our new roof vent on.
We also liked being by the loch (and so did the dog, he couldn't resist swimming in it) and by the Jacobite Railway (ideal for Harry Potter fans).
The only gripes we had were that the pitches were a bit too small and had hard standing only (no grass at all!). The drainage on our pitch was also non-existant and we got flooded.
We had also noticed that the tent pitches were further away from the toilet blocks than the caravan / motorhome pitches were (which a lot of them had toilets on board).

The site is stunning, the views and the site itself are lovely. They man at the reception when we booked in was helpful and gave us plenty of help in where to pitch our tent.
The shower/toilet block is big. Each loo/shower and sink has it's own cubicle. I think this is a really nice touch if, like me, you like a wee bit of privacy to get ready for the day (putting your face on etc).
Unfortunatly the shop wasn't open when we were there which was a shame. But the shops in Corpach had everything we needed and more!
I did notice that the campervans nearest the toilet blocks were pretty close but I'm not sure if it looked worse because they all had awnings. In the tent area we had lots of room and a few areas to pick from, although one of the areas marked for camping was very slopey.
Would go back but this was the dearest campsite we stayed at.

1st night of our holiday and wow what a beautiful location. Right by the loch and lovely to walk down to at night. Very clean toilets and very informative and friendly staff. Midges were a nightmare but it was worth it for the view - even better first thing in the morning. Will be back!

We stayed at Linnhe Lochside with some friends for a week. It is a beautiful clean site, and very well maintained. Several play areas for children. Clean toilets and showers with the most powerfull blast of water I have ever had on a campsite! Nice walk onto loch with fantastic views. The shop stocked essentials! (even wine and beer!) The laundry room had a play area for toddlers which I thought was a nice touch. The only downside is the midges! They eat you alive! we tried candles, spray and constant smoking. Nothing worked. Also there was a few buses pulling up with foreign tourists on all queing for the toilets and showers. Not sure where they slept but the bus left in the morning again. There is a fish and chip van that comes around the site twice a week but we didnt really enjoy it the batter could be tasted long after the meal was finished. All in all a fab site though. Within easy reach of Ben Nevis, Fort William etc.

Excellent site situated conveniently for exploring the local area. The shower/toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and were therefore immaculate. Each shower cubicle also had a shower basin, and the separate shower basins all had a cubicle each. There was even a bath, although tokens required (showers free). The site was clean and friendly. The tent field we were in had no marked pitches but was flat. There was a second field, which I believe had marked pitches and views of the loch. The shop was excellent as you could order fresh bread and newspapers for the next day. All in all, highly recommended.

We enjoyed this site, we stayed for 10 days in May alongside several friends who had travelled up to Scotland to be with us when we were married at Glenfinnan, a few miles down the road from Linnhe. The pitches are ok, and some have lovely views, the shower block is excellant and clean, we would recommend this site to anyone.

July 2004 I read with interest the reviews posted below and felt obliged to respond in some way. Having toured extensively throughout the Highlands with our caravan for 6 weeks in July/August 2004, we actually found this site to be the worst we encountered. It was in fact a glorified dustbowl, with nice shrubbery. Pitch sizes were far too small - we were situated at the back with a caravan and motor home placed 3 feet either side, facing into our window. It was almost impossible to peg our ROCK pegs into the hard ground, and we actually broke some. The shop was extremely expensive, as was the launderette. The review below mentions unfriendly staff and we couldn't agree more. But he also claims this may have been because he is English. However, if he comes back to the Highlands, he will in fact discover that almost all campsites and local shops are in fact owned or run by re-settled English people. We stayed at 11 sites and never heard a single Scots accent until we came home to the Lowlands. Scary stuff!!!

June 2003 Situated about 4 - 5 miles west of Fort William on the north bank of Loch Eil on the A830 "The Road to the Isles". The site is a mixture of static caravans, tourers and some tent pitches separated on landscaped terraces. The site is beautifully maintained with a childrens play area. A dog walk is along the shingle shore of the loch below the lower terraces. It's quite eerie and also stunning to see how fast the loch flows from the adjoining Loch Linnhe which is tidal. There are many places to visit in this beautiful part of Scotland. The western end of the Caledonian canal culminating in the nine descending locks of Neptunes Staircase, Ben Nevis, and of course Arisaig sadly bypassed by the new road. (It is still only two minutes from the new road).Catch the Calmac ferry from Malaig to Armadale on the Isle of Skye. Possibly the best trip is the West Highland railway train from Fort William to Mallaig through the superb scenery. We've visited this site on previous occassions but have only experienced the notorious midge on our last visit. They still won't prevent me going again.
