First visit to this lovely site with great views, kite spotting was a joy every day. Well mown fields which stood up very well to the very wet weather. Some electric hook-ups available otherwise batteries charged at a very reasonable rate. Basic facilities, toilets and shower good and cleaned very well on a daily basis. Free use of fridge/freezer very useful. Lots of lovely dog run space in the fields and great walks nearby. The owner could not have been more helpful.
Local shop very handy also a couple of eating establishments. Llanidloes a lovely little town has futher facilities should you need them. Though near to the main road I cant say it disturbed us at all and the occasional overflight by jets was very interesting, never seen such a close view of the underside of a plane in flight. We will be visiting again soon.

Stayed here for one night and loved it, lovely little campsite situated just off the river wye, very quiet on the site,
toilet block situated just at the bottom of the field with 2 quite spacey rooms. Just around the corner is the shower block which is just off the garage adjoining the bungalow. £1 for a lengthy shower, very nice! All kept nice and clean, and with use of a fridge for free.
Cost us £5 to stay the night, very cheap. I do advise to take citronella candles as we were a target for the midgies, ouch!
Other than that we very much enjoyed our stay

This is a pleasant enough site, and the owners are friendly. The shower room/toilet are basic but clean. Scenery nice.
However, it is only 500 metres from the A44 and there is traffic noise at night.
It is supposed to be a hideaway c/l with a maximum of five units, but there were 9 there at one point, separated from the 'other' part of the site, where there were more units that were obviously there for the season, by a low wire netting fence. There was a constant flow of units in and out, it seems to be a stop off point for holidaymakers going to and from the coast, so the description, hideaway is, I believe, slightly 'flexible'.

A very nice, simple site that has the basics and is peaceful. The site is windy near the bottom of the field (closest to the toilets), although I did go during one of the wettest summers we've ever had! Further up, there are more trees, and presumably, more shelter.
There are two toilets which have lights and are plenty big enough to have a wash down/change in. At the bungalow (where water is) there is also another toilet in the shower room. The shower room is clean and large. Showers cost £1.00 and give 9 and a half minutes worth of hot water.
At the bungalow, there was also a fridge/freezer for campsite use (very useful) and the site owner had local produce for sale at times (lettuce, tomatoes and lovely home-made cakes).
Field, despite lots of rain, was not water logged. Ground is quite rocky, which made pegging out a bit tricky. Noise-wise there is not much. You can just hear the A road from the site, and occasionally there were military craft flying by, but after dark it was very peaceful.
Location wise, the site is close to Rhayader, Llangurig and Llanidloes. Site is relatively easy to find: there is a sign 100 yards ish before the turning. The turning is quite sharp, so slow down!
I was in a three person tent and paid £5 a night - bargain! A great site and one I have recommended to others.

If you are looking for a peaceful site look no further.
Two main camping fields which were flat and well mown. A third was a little rougher but seemed popular with some real back to basics campers.
Very quiet site, probably only 5-10 cars came up the lane past the site all day.
Two toilets - one does have a light. Old but clean and more than adequate. Shower at the house but we didn't use - however owner advises brand new and piping hot.
A 2 minute walk from the site is a beautiful little river where you can walk along the shingle (key from the site owner).
All in all a really good site - no electric but this was more than made up for with the peace, quiet and the site of Red Kites circling the site for most of the day.
If you are prepared to forgo electric for the odd night give this site a try. At £6 for caravans and £4 for motorhomes its very good value for money.

Very nice simple site. The toilets are located in the trees, on the left hand side as you enter the site. They were clean and the field stayed relatively mud-free despite the recent rain.
The owner lives in the bungalow over the lane and is very friendly and helpful. The drinking water tap is located in the hedge on the left of the drive, just past the bungalow. It had frozen in the cold weather but she was more than happy to fill our Platypus bladders from her kitchen for us.
And the price was only £3 for our small tent with the two of us in it.
We only stayed on night so can't comment on the local facilities but there was a pub not far away.

This is a very basic site with toilets no hot water and no lights in them, the shower works on £1.00 coins. But if you want a very friendly small site that is very well looked after, that is level and quiet then this is for you.
The biggest thing about this site is the price £4.00 per night for a big tent bargain !
We would recommend the site to all.
