Similar review to Rolo9009. Spent the Easter weekend at this site and found it to be a real gem. We were on the opposite side from T1 and found the pitch to be ample for my Bear Lake 6 tent with plenty of room to park the car at the side.
The toilets were very clean although I thought there was probably one short of each facility, that being shower, toilet, urinal and pot wash, although I never had to queue as I'm an early bird.
The surrounding area is great with plenty to do for shoppers and walkers. We went on a trip on the Settle to Carlisle railway through spectacular countryside for a reasonable £21.20 each return.
The chip shop in Settle is very good as is the Royal Oak pub. A good steak was devoured at the Falcon Manor hotel situated at the other end of Settle from the campsite. Watershed Mill is also worth a visit as is Skipton with it's shops, market and canals.
Overall a great place to visit if you've not been before.

Just returned from this site having spent Easter weekend there. On arrival we were given a pitch that was already taken, slight hiccup, they told us the wrong pitch, quickly rectified and off we went!
We had EHU and were pitched on T1 which was not overly big, would have struggled if we'd have had our bigger tent. I think there were some bigger pitches at the other end of the EHU field. I think I would mention if you have a larger dome style tent just to be on the safe side. T1 was right in the top left hand corner with lovely views of the site and of the wonderful scenery.
The toilets were lovely and clean and plenty of them. There were three showers (in the same block) which again were clean and had constant hot water. The site was busy but never had to queue for a shower at any time. (I believe the same for the gents).
There is a pot washing area within the shower block, only downside I would say is that there are only two sinks, a few more would be handy when the site is so full.
The site is within walking distance to Settle centre which is not huge but has some nice shops. There is a Co-op where you can pick up conveniences should you need them.
All in all I would say this is a lovely site, reasonably good value for money, very clean and some lovely walks around the area.

We stayed 3 nights during the week before Easter. Attractive site with good facilities, tidy and well kept. Large grassy areas with picnic tables and children's play equipment. Good level hardstanding and grass for each pitch. Plenty of toilets and hot showers, which were clean and heated.
Open site with views. Short walk to Settle where there are several tea shops, pubs and range of shops.Footpaths in several directions from site. Good access to many walks in the area including Pen-y-ghent and Ingleborough.
We would visit the site again and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this area.

Had a great weekend. Plenty of toilets, showers were hot and it was clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. This was a quieter time of year and our experience may reflect that. I have booked two more visits on the strength of our first visit.
There were two children's playgrounds and I was able to stipulate a site which had one in view of our caravan.
We chose a pitch with electric hook up and no water although there were pitches with both.
There is some beautiful surrounding scenery and wonderful walks or drives.

This was planned as a longer stay over the Royal Wedding weekend. Of course we had not factored in school holidays so being positioned opposite swings and a climbing frame was not ideal for 2 quiet adults.
This was worsened with the arrival of a family to a caravan on a seasonal pitch with 3 children who seemed to have no respect for other people's space, and a mother who also had no respect - using a mobile phone within feet of our sleeping area!
Of course, we had a great weekend with our first ever visit to the Dales. Great weather but windy! Found some great pubs and real ales previously untasted.
And like another reviewer I would highly recommend the train trip to Carlisle not only for the train ride, but also for Carlisle itself, and a visit to Hadrian's Wall.
We got to the site after 6pm but full info on our site location was provided, and paying the bill next morning was to a warm and helpful welcome.
The location is only a couple of miles off the A65 so convenient after a long drive - and if like me you are not so keen on negotiating narrower roads with a tourer.
Back to the site - the toilets & showers were always clean, mostly available even though the site was full, and warm.
No problem with digital TV - once I could see a neighbours aerial direction, so good pictures of the Royal wedding.
Going back to my first paragraph, it is not the sites fault that the neighbours were noisy, but on site we did not experience the quoted peace and calm of North Yorkshire until Monday evening and Tuesday morning. Then most of the other visitors had returned for work and school leaving a totally different site. It is clear that seasonal pitches have been spread out with just enough room for tourers in between at weekends and holiday times.
For the price (the highest we have paid in the last 2 years) there is just enough room for a caravan and awning, but in respect to the next pitch, you end up parking your car across the front of the caravan. It was just too crowded, and this site will not be my first choice on future visits to the Dales.

We arrived at this lovely campsite for 2 nights.
You get your own little pod (grass area), depending on the size of your tent. The warden suggested to get a fob (£10 refundable deposit) for the barrier, but we didn't use it as the barrier were active 8am while 8pm.
No where to exercise the dog, you need to drive to get to areas to walk. It rained all the weekend but we still enjoyed, we went to visit ingleton waterfalls (20min drive)
They have got a shop but doesn't sell much, your best off walking 5 - 10 mins down the road to the garage.
Showers were adequate, free and hot. Only problem there were hair dryer facilities but they wasn't in use as the tube was broken.
Apart from that it is a lovely campsite to be on, and will go again.

We stayed for a week at this site, arriving on a Saturday. The field for tents ('the meadow') slopes quite a bit, but we got used to it after a couple of nights, and after adjusting the position of our tent slightly!
Unfortunately there was a large group of people (7 or 8 tents) who all knew each other close to where we were told to pitch, and we were kept awake until the early hours of the morning by them drinking and shouting on our first night. The site was much better during the week though, once this group had left, and was generally quiet after 10pm.
Toilet / washing facilities were adequate and clean, with free hot water and good showers, although the hair dryer in the womens toilets was broken. However there are only 2 washing up sinks, which meant queueing on occasions.
The site was well maintained and attractive, and the surrounding area was lovely. The site was only a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of Settle, which had plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants to choose from, as well as a large supermarket.
We would definitely visit the area again, but wouldn't stay at this site, mainly due to the slope and noise at weekends. It would be fine if you wanted to stay up late and then lie in, but not if you want to be up early to go out walking. The site seems to be popular with groups of families holidaying together.

Drove down a very narrow lane to get to the site, which HGV's and other campers come down and it was horrendous! Arrived and was charged for 2 children even though the lady on the phone when booking said she would only charge for one, so the nights there did cost extra. We then found our pitch which was on a slop and we almost burnt the clutch out.
It was terrible. The location of the pitch and the view was great, but reversing the van up a hill nearly killed the car.
Good location and Settle is lovely but not a great deal to do. You need to get out and about if you want to see more as its a quite town.
Nice site but wouldn't stay again due to the slopping pitches.

Have just returned from a two night stay, easy to find, met with fairly pleasant reception, given map to find my spot which was a caravan space with electric, and left to own devices. Sloping site though some areas have been terraced for level sites. Showers/toilets clean and adequate. Two play grounds, one at the top of the site and one at the bottom. No football rules, dogs must be kept on leads (though there are some who think these rules do not apply to them). Dog owners be warned there are no real exercise areas. I was given instructions for a walk to the river but this turned out to be down the driveway of a mill/factory and was dark, narrow and lonely. Lots of walking to village etc. But this was down a lane frequented by articulated lorries. But no place to let your dog off the lead. Nice, clean site spectacular views but I think the price per night is a little expensive.

Booked in efficiently and with no problems over the telephone, at a cost of £15, for a 1-night stay in a 1-man tent with no electricity hook-up.
Arrived about half an hour before official check-in time of 1pm, but no problems. Reception were not particularly welcoming, but certainly not rude. Given a basic map and rough directions to my pitch.
Drove there (watch for the speed bumps!) and pitched tent. Camp appeared large and well-maintained, although my pitch sloped.
Signs clearly said 'no ball games' but a large football match involving about 20 unsupervised children was taking place, and my car and tent were hit a number of times by the ball. On approaching the Warden about this, was told she would 'have a quiet word' with the parents.
Children were running around a lot, with lots of shouting, crying and laughing, and often wandered into other people's tent areas. However, all was quiet by 10pm and not a sound all night.
Picnic bench used was rotten and very unstable, but the other facilities (toilets, showers, bins) were adequate.
Location is very peaceful, but with the small town of Settle nearby (2 minute drive or 20 minute walk).
In general, this was a nice area with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere but spoilt by children!
