Lovely site, owners VERY helpful. Even have maps that show you the local walks which is VERY useful if you don't know the area.

Very good location for a visit to Abergavenny or Hereford.

My only negative is that I thought it would have been better to have put the VIP area by the river rather than the dog walk as there was quite a bit of road noise and I doubt the dogs would worry about that lol

Even with that I thought it was great and not enough to spoil my visit.

Be careful with sat nav. If you miss the turning at Usk it will take you through some very small lanes.

I am sat here on my fully serviced pitch in the Adult Only part of the site. We arrived earlier this afternoon to a very warm welcome from the owner. Had a choice of almost any pitches as it is quiet at the moment.

The site is nicely laid out and there is a good spaceing betweeen pitches. I am overlooking a little wood that leads to the river usk. Overall I would say this is a really nice site well placed for biking/walking. Close to Usk (4 miles) and Abergavenny and Monmouth. Both of these towns offer large supermarketss etc.

My wife and I are new to the caravan experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pont Kemys Caravan Park.

All pitches on level ground, some on grass, some on loose gravel. Very quiet although we must add that the children had all gone back to school.

A dog exercise area where it was very safe to spoil them and let them roam off the leads. Spotlessly clean everywhere. We found the site suitable as a base for our passion of walking.

Did not eat out as we enjoy the BBQ. Will definitely return.

This is a well established campsite with immaculate facilities and friendly staff. We were positioned right on the river so the views from our tent were fantastic, and all pitches were sectioned off by well maintained trees and hedges making even the pitches in the centre of the field fairly private. We were originally booked to stay for 3 nights but we extended this another night because we were enjoying ourselves so much. The site has a well stocked shop and we were allowed to use the freezer for both freezer packs and food which was a bonus. The only disappointment was to find that the Chainbridge pub was closed and there are no other pubs close by although if you are willing to drive there are some excellent pub/restaurants in the area - I recommend the Cripple Creek Inn. The campsite is also very well situated for days out to castles and towns. We will definitely be going back again.

This is a truly wonderful site.

We have just returned from 3 nights camping at Pont Kemys and we were really impressed.

I found Pont Kemys through UK Campsite by accident really! We were planning a trip but didn't know where or what we wanted to do/go. So glad I clicked on the map and looked at Pont Kemys. I contacted them via email, and even changed my dates a few times but always the response was direct and friendly.

We arrived at 1pm and were shown our pitch - right next to the river! It was perfect, I think we actually had THE best pitch on the whole site!

The reception and shop had everything you'd need. Maps, leaflets, eggs, milk, BBQs (for when your Tesco one doesn't light!)etc and the help and advise given by the owners was wonderful. A visit to The Big Pit is a must- it's free and you get kitted out with miners hard hats and torches and get a guided tour down the mine! It was a wonderful experience.

The site is clearly a labour of love. The facilities are spotless and the overall site is immaculate. The toilets and showers were so clean and there was always plenty of hot water! Also the water pressure was fab!

We were right next to the river with loads of space and privacy. The site is split into smaller areas by hedges but maintains an open feel. There was a dog walking area and adult only areas too. Think we were in the family area. But there weren't many children running around!

We didn't walk anywhere from the site. Unfortunately the Chainbridge Pub is closed down which would have been nice but with Usk 4 miles and Abergavenny 7 miles, nothing was that far away! We BBq'd most nights (we asked the young chap from reception to fetch us some bricks so we didn't burn the grass and he duely set of in the buggy and returned with them for us)but we did venture into Usk on Sunday eve in search of 'dinner'. The 2 smaller supermarkets were open and there were many fancy looking pubs. We opted for Chinese and took it back to our riverside location!

We will be returning to Pont Kemys again, and probably again after that!

The site is set in the most beautiful countryside and well laid out with separate areas for adults only and camping with no dogs. We have two dogs and and a soon to be four-year old but were not made to feel like outcasts.

We were given the impression that care is taken to situate people according to their needs. We were situated in a grassy area surrounded by hedges quite close to the amenity building (essential for a little one).

We were not disturbed by other regular visitors to the amenity block due to the carefully laid out hedges and trees. The dog walk took us through a little wooded area that opened out into a field right next to a bank down to the river.

Full of wildlife and a joy to visit at sunrise (sleeping was a challenge for us first-time campers). The shop provided basic essentials and the owners were kind enough to let us buy milk out of hours when we discovered ours had gone off. They were also very helpful when it came to our camping gas disaster.

The showers and toilets were spotless and well-maintained. The provision of basic cleaning materials made it easy for users to help with cleanliness between scheduled maintenance. The provision of a family room was a bonus as was the laundry, washing-up facility and TV room (all comfortable and well-maintained).

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Pont Kemys. We would have liked to see a small outdoor play area for our single small person but there was a great little football pitch complete with 5-a-side goals.

We visited only for three nights but managed some local walks and a visit to Raglan Castle (although not ideal with a small child and two Jack Russells due to high climbs and the open nature of a castle ruin - my nerves were in shreds).

Raglan Garden Centre was well worth a visit especially the outdoors and camping section (dogs welcome) where there is a full range of tents and accessories and very knowledgeable staff.

1st camp of season and 1st time at Pont Kemys. Fantastic quiet site with the cleanest of facilities, Toilets and showers spotless at all times.

Camping area was made private with spacious individual plots backed into woodland area. Staff very helpful and friendly, while shop was well stocked with all basic essentials.

Walk into Usk town very picturesque however if your looking for public transport back be aware!

Fantastic campsite with everything you need for a week/weekend away - already rebooked for another visit.

Please also note that the Chainbridge Inn is closed down which was a bit of a let down

Just returned from a wonderful weekend at this site. Facilities were clean and well equipped at all times. Reception were very helpful and well stocked with food essentials.

The pub however seemed to be closed down. The walk along the Usk valley way into Usk is very pleasant, but, trying to find a taxi or bus back to Chainbridge was impossible on a Saturday afternoon!

A lovely quiet site in a beautiful area.

We borrowed a friend's tent to see if camping would be ok for my husband and I as I am wheelchair bound. We had a brilliant time the access for the wheelchair was first class, the access for the disabled shower area and toilet was extremely clean and comfortable with plenty of seats to sit on. There is a washing machine and drying facilities on site together with washing up room. There are a number of fresh water taps dotted around the site and there is a chemical toilet and a waste water disposal unit.

The owners of the site were extremely polite and very helpful, and because of the way the site was laid out it converted us to camping. We are going back to Pont Kemys, to try out our new tent and have a quiet weekend of trying all our new camping gear out ready for this season.

I recommend the site to anyone with disabilities as it is all flat. You are next to a river which is very mesmerising and there are seats to sit on so you can watch the wild animals that live along the river. There is a lovely pub just across the road and they serve really tasty home cooked food at reasonable prices. Abergavenny Town is about 7 miles away and is a busy market town with Tuesdays being market day, they have a theatre with different shows from all sorts of companies playing there. The notice board at the campsite in the toilet block has an up to date list of what is going on that week. There are also various flyers of what else is around in the area. One place that is a must is 'Big Pit' the mine in Blaenavon, this is well worth visiting but I do suggest that you take a warm jumper for when you go down into the mine it will get chilly.

I am a seasoned lightweight camper and have also had my own static caravan. This site is excellent and deserves the 4 flag status.

The site is screened by hedges into units and well maintained. The facilities are spotless.

The camping area is level, the ground is firm but pegs can be pushed in by hand. It rained constantly for the two days I stayed and there was no flooding, pooling or mud in the camping area.

Easy to find. Excellent location for exploring the area. Chain bridge pub 5 mins away has an extensive menu at reasonable prices.
