Please note this site no longer has any touring pitches. It now has seasonal pitches only, and holiday homes for sale.
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Contacted via email and got back to me quickly, and provided an information pack for the surrounding area and a site map to where my pitch was.
The facilities to were clean and accessible.

This was our second visit to Hillcrest Park. We enjoyed our first visit so much we decided to return. It’s a very well kept park catering for touring caravans, motorhomes, pods etc.
It’s well laid out with Electric hook ups, fresh water, toilet disposal
The shower and toilet block is spotlessly clean.
The owners extremely pleasant and helpful.
We will definitely return.

Booked Hillcrest late as had holidays to take and because the facility's were all open we fell really lucky in securing a pitch for 3 nights. This is a great little park, after touring for the last few years I have got to say this is the cleanest park I have ever visited. Showers, toilets and grounds, dog walking area all spotlessly clean.
We were met on arrival and taken to our corner spot which was ideal with us having a dog. With me being out of practice reversing the owner was very helpful in guiding the van into position. My wife was shown where all the amenities were at while I got on with setting up the van.
First day we had a walk to Caldwell for a drink outside the local pub, wasn't a bad walk down the country road however care is needed due to no footpaths. Second day we visited High & Low force then onto Gibsons cave and waterfall this is a great day out, followed by fish and chips from Barnard castle. Third day we did part of the Teasdale way leaving our car at the Winston bridge, great walks in either direct down the river Tees.
Great short stay in a very peaceful location we will visit again.
Last point when booking at £25 a night I mentioned we had an awning and dog and was told no extra charge for either. Spot on.

Great relaxing site with open views from the pitch we stayed on. Clean facilities, would stay there again.
Owners were very accommodating as we moved on our arrival date due to the weather.
Good location for exploring the area.

The facilities on this site are great, free hot showers and a kitchen with washing up facilities and microwave, kettle and washing machine. Dottie the caravan is open on a weekend serving breakfast, we didn’t use this but the food smelt and looked delicious. The views from the site are amazing. We walked to the local pub, The Brownlow Arms about 1. 5 miles, and had lovely meal.
We stayed at the site as my son was running a lap of Yorkshire for charity and Kate could not have been more helpful and accommodating with us during our stay.

We booked this for 3 nights and on initial arrival appeared quite basic. However the site started to grow on us as the facilities although basic looking were everything you could have wished for.
Pros
Lovely free flowing hot showers
Centrally heated facility block
Free hairdryer
Camp kitchen with ironing and washing/drying bag facilities
Very very quiet location, slept well
Cons
Mainly seasonal pitches - although that makes it quiet.
Long drive to any proper shops although Mainsgill farm shop within a 10 minute drive (excellent shop)
All in all a lovely site for a quiet retreat.
