Had a lovely night at the Mason's Arms guys behind the bar were very helpful & serving a good pint of beer, the food was tasty & plentiful, nice to see they let dogs in the pub which was being appreciated by locals & travellers alike.
As mentioned by others the toilet facilities are extremely clean & showers hot which is always nice.
Camping field is nice & flat & I was allocated a pitch when I phoned to enquire of availability so no messing about.
My only minor grip would be £28 for one person & one tent seems expensive, but not been doing this camping malarkey for long so might just be me.
Having said that if I was in the area again this wouldn't put me off staying again.

Absolutely brilliant. We had the shepherds hut. Nice and warm with supplied tea, coffee, herbal-teas, sugar, milk, biscuits, a kettle and bottles of water. Cotton-buds, sanitary-products, make-up removal pads, tissues, towels, dressing-gowns etc. They thought of everything.
We were on a motorbike tour so didn't have space for all the luxuries but Masons Arms thought of everything. A lovely breakfast was included (just fill out the breakfast form and select your choice from a fantastic range of options).
There are occasional events and entertainment set up. The little village came alive for band night we were lucky to be there for (a really good tribute band playing everything rock to get you singing and dancing). There was no silly behaviour. No excessive drunkenness. Everybody was happy.
The local folk were really approachable and nice to talk to. Staff at the pub are amazing, all they want to do is support and help their guests. The food was really nice (good selection, well cooked and nicely presented).
It's not a rowdy place at all. We had two nights of peace and great sleep on a very comfortable bed in a very well-maintained camping area.
The showers were hot, toilets clean, iron and hair dryer worked perfectly (even a baby change table). Every need catered for.
We would go again in a heartbeat.
Wi-Fi is always difficult wherever you camp so make sure you have data on your phone and if needed, - hot-spot to your tablet/laptop (worked for us). Happy memories

We had the most fabulous two night break in our Campervan with two other couples in their vans.
Such a great spot. Quiet. Lovely walks and half hour to the National Trust Montacute House. Really lovely.
We had dinner in the pub and were so well looked after by the staff.
We’ll definitely be returning.

Rosie is a star!
She couldn’t have been more helpful.
We had a very enjoyable evening meal in the pub/restaurant.
The Masons Arms was a delightful stay and we would like to go back during the summer.
We arrived with an 8 m motorhome and found the village car parking on the roads to be very tight and the entrance, a little difficult to swing into.
The entrance is wide and the buildings are without overhang. The difficulty is the road is not very wide. Once inside the site everything is very good.
Rosie is very helpful and makes a very good Banksman!

We able to arrive at 8pm for check in, so did not have to rush down after work. Then straight into the pub for a nice burger and a draught beer.
The camp toilets were very clean and the shower was lovely and warm and inclusive, as was the electricity.
A recommended pub stop over that we would be happy to book again.

A fairly small site with well spaced pitches.
A minor problem on arrival was sorted out quickly and without fuss, and the hostess was very pleasant and efficient.
Breakfast was well cooked and presented and of a sensible portion size.
The most important thing for me was the fact that they take dogs, both on the camp-site and in the restaurant.
Will certainly be going back there.

We had to cancel our original plan to stay in Dartmouth as traffic was so bad and we were about to go back home but tried this place last minute.

This is such a wonderful site. Rose and the staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The site is a mix of hardstanding and grass pitches in a delightful spot.
The toilets/showers are kept very clean and there's washing up facilities there.
The pub itself serves very good food.
The one thing is that the entrance is very tight but once you have negotiated that it's an excellent place.
There are some local walks and Montacute House isn't far away.
We enjoyed our stay there.

Nice site at the back of a very nice pub.
Access is a bit tight to get in. We had a 7m rig and had to do a small shuffle. Caravans are not allowed for this reason. Small Campers would have no problems though.
Nice facilities too.
Very quiet and a nice drink and meal in pub. Good stopover place.

What a wonderful find, the Masons Arms, lives up well to all the reviews on UK Campsites, That is where I find all the good sites, with the star rating & lots of members reviews.
The site has seventeen pitches, six off the main field which are hard standing (gravel) that are used all year for camper vans.
There are just 11 pitches on the main field, the pitches are huge, many have electric hook ups (16 amp). So you have lots of space, which was so good with Covid still present.
The facilities block is located the end of the pub's guests rooms, these were un-sex with two toilets & two showers. The showers were really good, nice & warm. The site was fairly busy for September, always 60% full, but never had to wait for a shower during our eight day stay.
The Mason Arms is in the very small village of Lower Odcombe, about three miles from Veovil, nice & peaceful. The Masons Arms is a grade two listed building, oldie world & well kept. We were made very welcomed by the friendly staff when we arrived, was shown to our pitch & told where the showers were & to pop into when we were settled.
The advantage of camping behind the pub, we could have a drink & or a meal & neither of us had to drive, what a wonderful bonus.
There is plenty of lovely villages to look around many olddie world, we also visited three Nation Trust houses & gardens. Our eight days went far to fast, we were blessed by the wonderful September weather.
Just two suggestions to make this a perfect camp site, use a mower that collects the grass, it would help by not taking grass into your tent or the showers, the second improvement would be to have a few water taps on the main field.
But having said that, I will be recommending this site to all my friends & family. We hopefully be returning to the Masons Arms in the future.
Keep up the good work, you deserve the nine star rating on UK Campsites, whishing you continued success for the future.
Brian & Martina Wilkins. Tonbridge, Kent
