Just back from a fabulous stay on this lovely site, peaceful and well maintained.
Had a pitch looking down on the river, beautiful.
Will definitely be back.

Lovely site with great views.
Pitched on Sunset Meadow this time but have previously stayed on the CL.
It has all the facilities you need plus a helpful owner, Simon.
I need to send out thanks to all fellow campers who helped us when we got into difficulties with our (new) van. You all saved the day and we very much appreciated your help!,

Lovely, quiet site with fantastic views.
We were on the "old CL" site ( 1 of 3 sites!) that had an electricity supply and within a minute of grey/toilet waste disposal areas and water source.
Toilet and shower facilities were adequate, with an honesty box for donations towards the cost of a shower.
Great location for travelling around the area.
100% will be back.

We booked this site (Sunset Meadow not the CL ), with our grandchildren as it was close to The Forbidden Corner where we wanted to take them and it was perfect. No screens were even mentioned during our stay. No playground needed They just played on the grass, cricket, tennis, football, we were exhausted !
There’s water and electric on each pitch and great views. Easy wide entrance to the site.
The shower and toilet were spotless but with our own facilities only used it twice with the kids.
We also visited Bolton castle which was a great day, we hit on a special weekend. If you go with kids there’s a brilliant playground nearby in Bedale.
Leyburn market is Fridays. Loads of walks around, we will probably go back on our own.
Great contact with Simon by email for booking and information.

As we have a touring caravan, we always like to visit different locations and nearly always choose CL sites as they are small. Directions were clear and signage was visible.
There was a toilet/shower on site which was a bonus. We have a working cocker spaniel so good walks are a must from site for us.
There are plenty of fields etc however, the site is located on a game shoot meaning hundreds of young pheasants to chase. Unfortunately, our dog doesn’t know it’s not shooting season yet.
This made walking her a nightmare. Without a dog walks are good. Our weather was wet and windy which made it impossible to erect the awning.
Our pitch No. 5 was quite exposed to the wind, I’m not sure if that was just our pitch or if the other 4 were affected as they were in a line at the top.
All in all, nice site, with Leyburn not too far up the road. Most pubs in Leyburn are dog friendly.

Lovely peaceful location, did try and book on the C L area but that was full so we were directed to the adjoining area(quite slopping in some areas)
The entrance is nice and wide at approach and the facilities are of a very good standard, fully serviced pitches and at the time of staying £20. 00 P Night.
If you are lucky and get a pitch on the C L area you will enjoy great views and will be a little closer to the amenities.
Would have liked to score 10 out of 10 on all accounts but no recreation area for young children.

Simply beautiful site in very rural, agricultural surroundings surrounded by sheep, cows, and bulls, on a large pig farm.
There are 11 pitches with ehu and water, 2 wet rooms with their own toilets and heating, 50p voluntary contribution for hot showers worth every penny.
There is another separate toilet by the main house.
The staff are very laid back, friendly and helpful.
There is a beck in the next field that is great for the dogs and loads of nature walks near.
Dog friendly, people friendly, dark sky site within a mile of pubs and restaurant.
Down side is, it is a agricultural working pig farm accompanied with the smells and sounds of regular gun fire.
Our dog is of a nervous disposition, but if yours are not, this site is a gem.
The only reason I have not given the site 10/10 is because our dog was not entirely happy.
This is why I have tried to tell the whole story in case your dogs are also nervous.
It's not the sites fault, it is just the way it is.

Lovely peaceful site on slightly sloping pitch.
Very friendly welcome from Eve the site warden.
Toilet and shower facilities kept very clean.
We wanted to stay an extra night but it was full.
We will certainly return at some time.

We have just spent the Coronation Weekend on this superb site, a return visit, we were accompanied by friends in their Roof Tent.
Showing them the delights of the Dales including Tan Hill Inn - the highest pub in England and Ravenseat the home of the Yorkshire Shepherdess at the top of Swaledale.
Within easy reach of the A1 for traveling.
We paid £20pn incl EHU and water to each pitch.
Thank you Simon and Eve!

For anyone who is new to caravanning, this site is ideal as it was very easy to find, no narrow roads to negotiate, access was wide & easy & pitches were huge with plenty of space to manoeuvre.
We were met with a welcoming smile, given instructions where to pitch & left to our own devices.
The first four days we had torrential rain & the grass did get very boggy. On day five, the sun came out, the grass dried & we had a lovely stay.
There is a lovely walk with a little bridge over the river but we did feel the need to use the car to visit neighbouring villages.
