Please note we have been advised that this site has closed, and no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches. If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Although the weather was a bit wet the site was superb, just as good as last year. A very well run and friendly campsite ideal for a peaceful break or a visit to the south coast. The site is very quiet at night. Facilities are good.

Space and freedom are the keywords here. Although it is essentially just a large field with half for camping and half for playing, it is a very large field so everyone has loads of space. We could pitch where we wanted, and chose which fire pit we wanted. The playing half of the field is huge, more than enough space for football, rounders or frisbie - probably all at the same time.

There are composting toilets, solar showers, a washing up sink and a hand washing sink. Not a huge amount of facilities, but more than enough when we were there. The solar showers weren't hot though and that would probably be the only reason I wouldn't stay for more than a few days.

I'd definitely come again for a weekend, partly because there is so much to do and see in this part of the country. We went to the Tank Museum, did the clifftop walk from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door, visited Tyneham Village and had an afternoon on the beach at Studland Bay. Would recommend them all and the kids are asking if we can go back next year. If we do we'd probably stay here again.

We booked in for 2 nights, so that we could attend the Flight Refuelling Amateur Radio Society rally. We were pleasantly surprised with the site. If Carlsberg did campsites this would be the one. I have used campsites for over 50 years. This site is definitely in my top 10. Ruth and Tim run a superb site, just right for a relaxing break. All the facilities are very clean and well maintained. The field is flat and well drained. There is plenty of space between the tents.

On Saturday night we were treated to display from the Perseid meteor shower. The dark skies here are fantastic

Hope to see you again next year.

We stayed here to go to Monkey World which was only 10 minutes down the road. The site is really laid back, Ruth and her husband were really welcoming and advised us on arrival where the sun came up and which direction the wind generally went in which helped us set up. The little touches they had put in like a full length mirror, a mirror over a wash basin (with the cutest little carved elves at the bottom. ) Wash basins for washing up which were under cover.

The campsite was very flat and easy to pitch on, lots of space for the children to play in, hay bales and football goals. Very easy to see the children from most places on the campsite. The playing field is also the opposite side of the field to the entrance so it has no through traffic to worry about.

Moth Mania was held in the morning where they release lots of moths they had caught the night before. Log bags were a good size for £5. 50 with a mixture of kindling and larger logs.

I'm struggling for any negatives. The only thing we struggled with on our stay were the wasps but this is often the way when camping. We only stayed a couple of nights so didn't use the showers but they looked very clean and serviceable.

We will be visiting again in the future. Thanks guys for a wonderful stay. X

Stayed for a couple of nights with my son. Owners were very friendly and helpful - they stay on site during the periods the campsite is open.

Was nice to have a real fire and there are fire pits to rent and wood to buy.

Campsite is fairly basic but works well and definitely very good value. Toilets are composting - but they don't smell and are kept clean. Don't be put off by them if you haven't used them before.

Solar powered showers seem okay. The two nights I stayed it rained and was very cloudy so not so hot water! Still okay if you don't mind a fresh shower and probably work a lot better with a bit of sun.

There is an area set aside for kids to play ball games etc.

Site is conveniently located for a number of places to visit - we took in Monkey World, the Tank museum and Corfe castle. Didn't make seeing Lulworth Cove or the Jurassic coast. Will definitely return sometime to see those.

We loved this site. Its got a cool vibe. The owners are on site and very friendly and welcoming. There is loads of space, campfires are encouraged and its really dog friendly (and they don't incur an extra charge - halleluyah!) The self composting toilets are fab and the solar powered showers very refreshing! Its a basic back to nature sight which I loved. Will definitely be going back next year.

A lovely eco site run by friendly owners Ruth & Tim. The site is small and has a camping field and a play field that my boys loved playing football, rounders and frisbee without risk of annoying fellow campers.

The site is basic which is exactly the kind of site we like. No electric, solar powered showers (that were a bit fresh) and composting toilets which are not everyone's cup of tea but are fine as long as you don't look down! Kids loved moth mania on Sunday morning and have a new found respect for moths.

Nearest shop was a well stocked spar which was 2 miles from the site in the village of Wool where there is also a pub.

This is a lovely campsite. I have never stayed on a site with so much space before. Each plot was large with plenty of area in front for playing and in addition further field available for children to play and dogs to run. There is also a football pitch and hay bales for entertainment. The reception was obvious and well manned with helpful friendly owners who live on site.

The facilities were novel and in keeping with the eco ethics of the owners. Once used a composting toilet is nothing to be feared. The solar showers I personally did not need as being there only for a weekend, but others found them good, just depends on how much sun and what time of day you use them. The washing up area was good and rarely needed to wait to use it, fellow campers were all friendly and relaxed probably due to the uncrowded atmosphere.

The highlight of my weekend was moth mania when the owners showed us the amazing collection of moths they had collected during the night. The children and many adults gathered for the big reveal and we learnt so much before they were all released.

We used their campfire area for cooking which made such a lovely evening.

We will definitely be returning

We were lucky as we happened to have a week of glorious weather! It was with slight trepidation that we booked here as all our previous camping trips have been on sites with the regular washing/toilet/shower facilities. However I have to say the compost toilets were surprisingly good! Even cleaner than standard loos! The showers are an adventure. I felt like Bear Grylls the first time as I showered first thing in the morning so they were, er, refreshing! But there is something cool (scuse the pun!) about showering in a cabin using solar power and I loved it! Great site, great hosts and in a fantastic location. Myself, hub and our son loved this campsite and we highly recommend it!
