We booked a one night break at this site which we picked due to the location - near to Beningborough Hall and York.
There was a warm, friendly welcome, the site is quite small but the plots are well marked out and are level.
The unisex bathroom was something a bit different, I didn’t mind it but I can imagine some may feel uncomfortable.
We got the bus into York and then back again on our first day, followed by a short drive to the Wetherby Whaler for tea.
We had noticed train noises during the day and evening but there was no disturbance overnight.
Overall we enjoyed our visit, I expect in warmer months we would make use of the easy cycle into York, and access to the surrounding countryside.

Very well situated site for cycling, walking or getting the bus into York.
There seems to be a lot of pitches in a small area so it may feel cramped when full. Toilet block was always clean with adequate water temperature.
There is a notice board in the block but with no tourist info. Even bus times/ numbers would be a help together with info where to pick the path up into York.
The site is on a small lane off of the A19. Together with the nearby rail line it is quite noisy, especially rush hour on the A19.
Normally on private sites you see the owners out and about around the site. Not so during our stay.
Pub opposite the end of the lane has been closed for years and the Greene King one down the main rd closed down while we were there.
Small shop in Skelton for essentials.

First expedition as new caravaners.
Lovely site with warm welcome and even loaned a longer cable to reach electricity point.
Dog friendly with a lovely 4 mile riverside walk into the heart of York, or, bus stops 100 yards away!
Facilities spotless too.
Would definitely return for short breaks.

2nd time we have stayed here, its a lovely site with a lovely lady owner who is very helpful.
Shower block is nice and clean although only 2 showers, this wasn't a problem for us as the site was quiet.
Bus into york a couple of minutes from the site although it does stop running around 6pm.
The park and ride is about a 15 minute walk away but this runs until late at night.
Will stay again when back in York.

Lovely quiet site with easy access by bus into the city (although it doesn't run on Sundays)
The Lady met us on arrival and offered us a longer hook up lead if ours wasn't long enough.
Toilets and showers are very clean and well cared for although only 2 showers, not a problem while we were there as the site wasn't busy.
A nice walk to the park and ride if the bus isn't running with from the site, a pub serving good food is on the way to the park and ride.
We would stay again when visiting York.

An excellent campsite. The site itself is immaculate. The toilets and showers are spotless and warm. The showers are ideal.
The lassie that looks after the site named Lisa is a really lovely host. She presented us with a nice Xmas present. Thank you.
The location of the site is ideal as the bus stop for York is about 300 feet from site entrance. Also by the bus stop is a nice garden centre with a lovely cafe. And next door to that is Foot Golf, which has a breakfast VAN In its carpark selling superb breakfast, lunch food. We had the bacon butty and it was delicious.
All in all a wonderful campsite. Will defo use again when we pass by York next year.

Great clean site.
Facility is very well looked after and was perfect for our long weekend visiting friends in York.
Bus stop into York is a short walk away,
Footgolf centre round the corner was welcoming and has a very nice burger van.
Located on the outskirts so easy access to countryside as well.

Lovely small site a couple of miles outside of York.
Excellent communication before arrival. Paid in full on arrival.
Hardstanding pitches with a nice grass area to the side.
Showers a little dated but spotlessly clean as were the toilets.
We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return with our bikes as good cycle routes very close by.
Pleasant, friendly owner.

Really nice site with really friendly and helpful owner. Great location, facilities really good,
Bus stop into York close to entrance and two pubs within walking distance although the one across the road wasn't open.
Negative points- site is tight if the site is full and you have a twin axle and there is quite a bit of train noise.
Deffo stay again
