My partner and me took 3 of our grandchildren camping here and had a great time.
Ross is an excellent host, really helpful and makes sure you are made welcome.
The area has lots of places to visit for young and old.
Bedale is a lovely market town and is just 2mins away in the car or a 10min walk and has some nice shops and pubs.
I would highly recommend this excellent site, we will certainly be returning.

Having visited the owners' website to get information for this site, I can assure you that we weren't disappointed when we arrived.
Located just a 15 minute stroll from Bedale itself and easy to get to,
The pitch was a decent size and the facilities block spotlessly clean, despite all the recent rain. We didn't use the showers this time but the cubicles are a good size and they look very appealing.
There is a large covered barn area with tables for social get-togethers, eggs and preserves for sale via an honesty box system, and, best of all, a really big field just behind the site for exercising the dog - with a thoughtful supply of poo bags attached to the gate in case of need. There are also lawned areas with picnic tables by the pitches which would be lovely in the summer.
Ross and Lorraine are very friendly and welcoming. This site is really handy for the motorway but there is not a bit of road noise to be heard.
I have not rated the site for children as we do not have any.
All in all, a splendid site. We are looking forward to visiting again.

Small campsite as advertised in a beautiful setting.
Close to Bedale which is a lovely small market town and easily accessible from the A1.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, facilities are immaculate.
Would definitely recommend this site.

Absolutly superb little site, there is nothing I can fault it on.
The owner, Ross, is a perfect host who just lets you get on and enjoy your stay without strictly enforcing a load of rules. (mind you, he's a big lad so wouldn't want to cross him).
It's a 10 minute walk into Bedale, nice cafes, shops and three good pubs.
Would recommend a stay here to anybody.

Lovely well looked after site
The toilet block was very cold, could do with some form of heating, but was kept very clean.
Ross is a friendly guy and makes everyone very welcome.
Site is a short walk into Bedale which has plenty of shops.

Lovely site - cant believe how quiet and peaceful it was. I was pitched on a grass pitch which always fills me with dread as you can guarantee it will rain. Goes without saying that it rained! Ross, the owner appeared with a length of awning carpet to lay in front of my van to stop me churning up the ground and keep the mud out of my van. It worked a treat and I'm now looking for some that I can travel with for other sites.
Ross and Lorraine were lovely and welcoming. There aren't many sites where the owner isnt after payment as soon as you arrive (these days its generally 5 days before!) When I asked Ross he just told me to relax and remember I was on holiday. Its easy to get into holiday mode at Bedale.
The site is well maintained and was a lovely place to stay
The town is just down the road - I had fish and chips on the first night from Halls - it wasn't the biggest portion in the World but it was the best tasting I had had for a long time. Bedale is a charming town and it seems to have missed out on the charity shop/estate agent influx which has hit every other town - there is a hardware shop which seems to sell everything you could ever imagine.
Parking in Bedale is interesting as you need to display a disc showing when you arrived if you park in the middle of town for upto 2 hours. This isnt as daunting as it sounds as many of the shops have them in boxes by the doors. Alternatively there is a pay and display carpark just down from the centre of town which costs £1. 80 for a day.
I had a bit of fun on the way into the site - its an easy approach from the A1 but when I hit the roundabout on the outskirts of Bedale my sat nav told me to turn towards Leyburn and I stupidly followed the instruction. It took me down some very narrow, muddy lanes - it was wide enough for the caravan but I'm pleased I didn't meet anyone coming in the opposite direction. The easier approach is to drive into Bedale, past the first turning "The Wynd" and continue to the B6268 - its where the chip shop is and its a much more caravan friendly road.

Lovely quiet site with horses in the field adjoining the site. We had hardstanding pitch with water tap and electric.
Men and women have a toilet each (same for showers) which are in a wooden building and a washing up station - all of which are kept immaculately clean by Stella; a very friendly and helpful lady.
There are good walks from the site (detailed in the hut). It's a very covid safe environment with sanitisers by the gate and toilets.
No visitors are allowed at this time, which is good. Eggs can be bought by the farm.
If you're looking for relaxation this is the place.
