On the morning of the start of our booked stay, the owner rang at about 9am to say that the pitch I would be on was already free so we could come whenever we liked.
What I lovely surprise. I have never had an offer from a site like that before.
We have stayed in the Powburn area on many occasions, at The Caravan Club site and also the CL to the west of the main road, without being aware of this site. Of the three, Low Hedgeley is definitely the best, for all the reasons given in previous reviews.
The hardstandings are quite narrow but there is plenty of grass on either side so overall the pitches are very spacious. Nearly all the hardstandings do require levelling blocks though.
The toilet is immaculately maintained and the walks around the farm are brilliant for dog walking.

So sad to be leaving Low Hedgeley Farm after 5 wonderful days, but its a site we will definitely return to. Being only 40-mins away from our home means its a perfect distance for long weekends but it really deserves a longer stay to fully appreciate what owners Harry and Daisy have established; they rightly should be proud of their beautiful campsite.
The site is within the beautiful grounds of Low Hedgeley Farm with its immaculate farm buildings; I’ve never seen a more impressive barn. All the pitches are clean and wide.
We were lucky to be given a very large grass pitch behind some beech hedging (actually Harry gave us 2 pitches) which added a touch of privacy and was definitely appreciated by our Diva Dachshunds and our elderly Old English Sheepdog.
Wonderful walks directly from the site on surrounding land is a huge bonus for us: whether that's the shorter railway line walk or the longer river walk and four ponds walk. We seem to always be lucky and find wonderfully quiet sites and this is no exception, just peace and quiet.
Yet again on our first night we could hear the relaxing hoot of a distant owl (I’m sure this owl follows us everywhere!). Watching the crows come to rest in the surrounding trees each evening was also lovely.
The site welcomes caravans and motorhomes with both hardstanding and grass pitches.
It also offers a wild-camping area for those with tents in a very large field. Even if the site was full it wouldn’t feel overcrowded due to the spacious surroundings.
Picnic benches dotted around are a really nice touch.
Toilet was immaculately clean every day. Though we were well stocked on this trip its great to know there’s a store on site that sells all of the essentials like bread, butter and milk. However as a bonus the store also sells meat sourced from the family farm next door, you can’t get fresher and more local than that!
I’m hoping to pick up some of the farms own produce ie lamb, steaks, burgers and Hedgley Honey before we set off in the morning.
Thank you Harry and Daisy, we’ll be back.

Excellent little site. If you can find it! £25 per night, with everything inc free wifi.
Just one toilet but always clean. There are 6 pitches that are on hard standing, and 2 more small fields with grass.
The owner appears now and then, very nice young bloke, informative. We paid cost of stopping before we arrived, and the owner had told us which pitch was ours.
Plenty of walking with dog if you want it, lovely area. Very quiet.
But hard pitches are a bit up and down, not much at all really, but you will want some wheels ramps for levelling.

We usually stay at South Meadows Belford. As retirees no one tells us it is a Bank Holiday. Our usual choice was fully booked. Inputting our criteria UKC came up with a few excellent suggestions, the best being the wonderful Certificated Location at Low Hedgeley Farm just north of Powrburn on the road to Coldstream.
The five pitches are new. Well sorted stone hard standing and grass for the awning. The location is stunning. A working farm but no mess. Tranquillity comes to mind here. We pitched up nose first for the view on pitch 6. A fully serviced pitch, 16 amp EHU fresh personal water tap.
For the moment Grey water goes in the hedge but plans are afoot for individual grey drainage. A very well organised recycling area near the barns provides for your waste and to8let cassette waste disposal point. They include a very large, superbly clean and decorated, WC and basin. This room is bigger than most peoples bathrooms. Fresh local meats are available on site.
The entrance to the site is well signposted and ensures easy safe access through the gates. At £25 a night and dog friendly what more do you need. As a farm you are welcome to follow the many paths with your dogs down to the lakes etc obviously watching out for young lambs etc.
Harry and his wife run this place. It is a passion that will repay them and give the likes of us very good reason for return visits. There is plenty going on in the area and some excellent Pubs serving great food nearby.
For us this CL, is now in our little black book for a regular return. Everything about Low Hedgeley is so tick my box it’s a caravanners delight and gemstone

It was a soggy April, 2 Sites I had earmarked cancelled at the last minute as waterlogged. Due to Harry's foresight in ground preparation, that was no problem.
Site is quiet & very Clean, as is the Toilet, Which has local guides, soap & paper towels. Water tap next to every pitch. Full 16A Electric too, Bonus was the unexpected Free WiFi.
Good Food pub within 5 miles. Convenience store 1 mile,
Sadly NO Chippy :-(.
Harry couldn't be more helpful, Assisting us with accepting a parcel & Freezing packs due to our fridge dying spectacularly.
Never had such a good TV signal.
At £25/ Night (2024) good value too.

Excellent base for Ingram Valley and visiting Ingram Show.
Hillforts trail, Cheviots, Linhope, Wooler and the River Breamish are all worth visiting.
Well located just off the main road in Powburn.
Cafe in Ingram is excellent.
