We have passed this site several times when going into Chirk, thought give it a try as have decided to used more independent sites.

Can’t praise it enough, very very friendly and helpful staff.

Facilities are great and impressive.

Pitches are very good level and a good size.

The A5 is very close and a constant drone of traffic day and night can be intrusive if you’re a light sleeper.

Can’t really sit outside your unit because of the constant traffic noise.

Yet there are quite a few seasonal people here.

If you don’t mind the noise then superb place to stay, if you can’t put up with it

Then it’s not for you.

As another reviewer has said, “Immaculate site with lovely wardens. ”

A very good layout with large, level, and well spaced, serviced pitches.

Excellent facilities which were spotless.

5 minutes walk to the nearby Poachers pub /restaurant, which sits on the Llangollen Canal.

Just off the A5 and ideally located for visiting Chirk castle.

 The friendly owners.

Lovely & peaceful site.

Spotless all round.

Nice large pitch.

Shops, pubs & takeaways near.

Not really for Children. We'd go back.

The site is very clean and tidy, new washrooms, and bar/restaurant

Very nice staff at the reception.

Nice big pitches which are serviced

There is a Dobbies within walking distance,

There is a good walk along the canal which is just across the road.

Only one issue for us, is the road noise from the A5. We new is was close to the site, but as a light sleeper I was awake from 4am.

On arrival at the Site we were amazed how clean and well kept the park actually was

The Site wardens were friendly and welcoming and bent over backwards to please,

We knew the area well so settled in quickly.

The only downside of our stay was the traffic noise which was consistent day and night and we found it hard to ignore.

We will return but only on a pitch away from the busy bypass.

A level site with gravel hardstandings and reasonably spacious pitches each with EHU and water/waste. The other half of the site comprises lodges and the reception/club house caters for both.

Gather that all is newly provided in the last few years so all facilities are modern. The clubhouse/bar was fairly basic but comfortable and welcoming and both reception and bar staff all friendly and helpful.

Groceries and fuel are available just a few hundred metres up the road at the junction with A5. Food/drink available at the pub literally across the road from the site entrance although we used the Bridge Inn 10/15 minutes walk down the canal towpath…a friendly free house, good value and a quiz night on Wednesday.

Site ideally situated for access to the canal towpath and thence to Chirk, the Chirk aqueduct and tunnels and further along to the Pontecylte aqueduct and to Llangollen.

Towpath ideal for cycling and walking. Bus stop at the site entrance to Chirk and to Oswestry. Biggest drawback to this site for us was the traffic noise from the A5 that runs along the eastern boundary… it is pretty much incessant and so does make it difficult (impossible?) to relax on site and for this reason have not given 10/10.

This is the first time we have used this site but it won't be the last.

Very reasonably priced.

Immaculate site and lovely wardens.

Yes the road was noisy but we knew about the roads before going.

Lots of places to visit. Canal and Great pub across the road.

All level plots and fully serviced pitches.

Shower block was small but quite adequate and spotlessly clean

Stayed three nights at this site close to Chirk in between Oswestry and Wrexham, lovely welcome at reception.

Facilities were excellent showers and toilet block very modern and heated.

On site bar, but there is also a lovely pub very close with great food

A short distance away is a lovely walk along the canal straight into Chirk.

The local bus stops right outside the site and goes to all three towns.

Would definitely visit again.

First class site

 Couldn’t fault the site.

All facilities were top notch and the welcome was warm and sincere.

£36 for a fully serviced pitch is very competitive.

Very easy to locate also.
