Very pleasant greeting from Rheinellt and very helpful.
Would like to bring the grandchildren because how it is set up with the vans makes it feel very safe for them to play without the worry of cars.

We stayed here a few years ago and it seems to have expanded. It is full of statics and has the feel that the owners are happy with that and don't care about the occasional tourers.
The place is unloved, the walk from our pitch to the toilet block was over 200m and the washing facilities, while clean, are lacking by modern standards.
The showers cost a pound a time and last for a reasonable 6 minutes but there is nowhere to get dressed / undressed for the shower. The Elsan points seem few and far between and are no more than a hole in the ground.
I don't think we will be returning in a hurry.

We stayed with our tourer on this site. With our two young children and dog. Would definitely recommend and be returning.
It's a lovely site, Clean spacious toilet and shower facilities.
Nice walk around site along side a stream.
Lovely big park within the site for the children.
Easy walking distance from birth centre.

Lovely clean site, 5 minutes to beach, friendly staff, toilet and shower block immaculate clean, although a small charge to use shower. Friendly pub The Railway served good food and allowed dogs in (a 5 minute walk away)Great walk from Both to Clarac on coastal path (3 3/4)miles.
Good space between caravan/tents. Covenant shop 5 minutes drive and good fish and chip shop. Children's play area looked adequate. I would recommend this site and will be booking again soon.

At first appearances this is a lovely site well kept and clean. It is only when you have paid and pitched up that you begin to realise things are not quite what they seem.
We paid £20 for 1night without electric! The showers were £1 to use for 6 minutes! Nobody seemed to obey the dogs on leads rule, they ran freely all around the site doing what dogs will do! I would have needed a car or bike to make use of the not very clean toilet block, where because of limited number of loos we had to queue!
We will not be visiting this site again.

Our third visit to this site. Always clean and owners very friendly. Great location as a footpath at the end of the site runs along the river then road into North.
Really nice walk. Showers a bit expensive but best we've seen on a campsite. Also a bit of a walk as the block had to be built in static van field.
The Victoria pub has a lovely new Atlantic bar with terrace overlooking the sea with views of passing dolphins.

I have called in at this campsite on spec on 3 separate occasions. It is a huge campsite with a lot of statics but also lots of room to camp. I have always found the owner very friendly and welcoming and the touring area has always been very quiet with only 1 or 2 camping.
Yes it is a very long way to the loos but they are spotless. Excellent place for dog owners as the site is at the side of a footpath running along the side of the brook and a pleasant walk straight off the campsite into Borth with other footpaths adjoining.
To be honest for a few days visiting the beach at Ynyslas its the only decent campsite I've found.

I am amazed that none of the many reviews of this site mention the fact that there are only 4 WCs and 3 washbasins for 104 touring pitches plus the tents. One can assume that the 94 statics have their own plumbing. I notice that UK Campsites details for this site state 75 touring pitches - way out.
Many have mentioned that there is nowhere to put your gear whilst washing shaving etc. I find this lack of facilities inexcusable and shows a complete lack of regard for paying customers. £20 per night in June?
The toilet block has been renovated in the last couple of years and is quite smart however, how they manage to meet the requirements for access for people with disabilities / mobility problems I don't know. There is an 8 inch step up to access the Gents facilities through a standard width door. Once inside there is a cubicle with a wide (disabled access) door for the use of thr disabled. Great if only they could get in through the main door.
The facilities on this site and others like it (and I know there are worse) is one of the main reasons we do most of our caravanning on the continent. In May / June this year we used 3 campsites in Belgium, Germany, France and paid no more than 15 Euros a night for excellent facilities.
Enough of the rant now for the positive. The touring pitches are reasonably spacious. Most of the grass is better than my lawn at home. For those that like them there are lots of hardstandings. The tent section grass seemed to be excellent and level. A word of warning, it's a long way to the loo. If you're pretty regular with your habits use a bike or the car to get to the loo in the morning.
Wales is beautiful and we have a soft spot for Borth even if it is a little run-down. The beach and estuary at Ynyslas wonderful

I camped here whilst my friends shared a caravan at nearby Brynowen caravan park. The site is mostly set up for static homes and touring caravans but there was enough space for my tent on a level piece of well cut grass, not too far from the shower block. (Actually, I was the only tent there!)
As has already been mentioned, the shower/toilet block is maintained to a high standard and is clean and tidy. The site fee was reasonable by English standards. So, overall, a nice site that I would go back to.
Borth is a quiet but attractive village. The walk from Borth to Aberystwyth is STUNNING in good weather and you can get the train or bus back to Borth.
