Lovely site. Great walk through ancient woods to gorge. Well worth the effort.
Easy to book local hotel/ bar for food, great quality at an excellent price. Bar was dog friendly.
Showers are excellent, best I’ve seen at a campsite.
BUT we were next to a group who played loud music to way past midnight, which ruined our short stop over on NC500.
A quick walk about at 11pm would have avoided this disturbance.

Enjoyed our stay.
Phoned ahead to explain that we'd be arriving after hours and they gave us instructions but, as it happened, the excellent wardens were still on site when we got there.
They offered useful local info on where to eat (with discounts) and what to do.
As detailed in other reviews, the facilities are superb but the hard standings could do with being offset to avoid the feeling of sitting in the van opposites lounge.
Pricing was a breath of fresh air after being held to ransom at some of the 'big club' sites this year.

Excellent, well maintained, peaceful site.
Toilet and shower block immaculate and spacious with lovely hot showers.
Very friendly reception.
Didn't have time to explore the village but seemed lovely on our wee walk to the hotel which unfortunately was only open to residents on our visit.

Excellent facilities with the new toilet block’s unisex cubicles, immaculately clean.
The whole site is neat and tidy, and surrounded by trees and a babbling brook.
Staff very friendly and helpful about places to go and to eat. Good location just off the A9 to Inverness and is on the SC500 route.
Good pub 5 minutes walk away which is dog friend, , excellent pizzas which they will do as takeaways.
There is a Co-Op next door and a post office and small cafe. A good place to stop. Will come again

This site is set in a beautiful forest with two pubs and a CO-OP 5 minutes walk away.
Most of the space is dedicated to statics and chalets, but there is a dedicated touring area for tents, caravans and motorhomes.
Place is very tidy with good facilities. The new toilet block is unusual in that it is a series of unisex individual cubicles that are quite large, with their own sink, toilet and shower. They are absolutely pristine and the power shower is one of the best I have ever had.
BUT. This place is far too cramped! The units look to be about 4 meters apart, never mind the 6M acceptable standard and when you have a car between caravans it just feels downright claustrophobic.
The road between the rows is also very narrow, so some new arrivals were struggling to get their unit in safely.
That said, the site is well looked after.
I was going to give a seven because of the cramped feeling, but they redeemed themselves in the quality of the toilet/shower block.

Used Blackrock last weekend. Site is excellent. Staff extremely helpful had a problem with a punctured Jockey wheel, tyre and rim replaced by Chris on site and returned Within an hour at a very reasonable price. Site is clean tidy well kept. Toilet block and showers are combined and are five star. Would highly recommend this site to anyone going up to the Dingwall Invergorden area

Spent one night as stopover heading up north. Great site, very well tended, neat. Facilities block fantastic, warm, spotless. Mix of statics dotted about, tourers etc. Great surroundings, dog friendly. Helpful staff.
As others have said some touring pitches on the tight side, at 6. 3M tail end almost hanging out onto site road, which is also narrow, but it is one way.
Good accessible motorhome service point.
Great Indian takeaway will deliver. Lots of info at reception area.
It might just feel a bit squeezed when it’s full but I would certainly use again.

We have used this site for a couple of nights over the last few years, my wife's father is buried in the next village so we have a annual grave run. Blackrock is a site that is kept Very clean and tidy, the pitches are fine but some of the site roads are a little tight for larger units, there are plenty of statics and a bunk house on site and when we have been there it is quite enough and every one seems to get along pretty well. In the village the Nova arms serves good food, there is also a co-op for any shopping needs plus a Morrison store and fuel in Alness the next village north. Next year there is promised a new toilet block. Arthur
