Stayed after several people had recommended it and I can see why.
Super quiet at night and the restaurant is the best camping one we've been to.
You do need bikes as the beach/supermarket is 2. 5km away.
We paid 19euro+tax.
Would come back as the local seaside towns are lovely

Found this site via the ACSI app and turned up without booking. We were there for 8 nights and couldn’t fault the site.
Shower block not far from the entrance was immaculate.
The swimming pool was well maintained with plenty of sun loungers and chairs.
We would definitely recommend this site.
A lovely cycle path ran from not far from the site down to the local beach where there was a fantastic supermarket which catered for our daily needs.
You can cycle for miles along the cycle paths.

We booked last minute because we’d had 40 deg heat for 3 days and wanted somewhere with a pool so we moved to La Yole. Entry and exit is via gate with keypad, next to reception is a convenience shop, quite expensive. It was before the season started so not full but I should imagine it would be extremely busy during high season. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
We were able to choose our pitch from several offered and went for one with some shade, we were close to 2 amenity blocks, one old one new, some of it is mixed use, that’s ok as there are doors on the cubicles, not keen on hearing men emptying their noses in the shower though, disgusting! Happened a lot.
The pool area is excellent with something for everyone, there’s fun for kids and relaxing areas for adults, there are some palm type parasols if you get there early, also there is an indoor pool if you’ve got a baby or toddler it’s good if too hot outside for them. There’s a toilet area with some changing cubicles too.
The bar/ cafe is next to the pool, drinks are expensive. We ate there a couple of times and pizzas range from €10 to around €13, very thin crust but delicious and good size. Large TVs in the bar where we watched some of women’s World Cup football, some amusements, pool table etc too. The toilets need updating and it is mixed, it is wrong to have to walk in and see men standing at the urinal as you go in the door, ok it’s the French way but I do not want to see that, nor would I want children to see it, as a lot of Brits stay here we should be considered, there is no choice, put a saloon door on at least!
NB there are signs forbidding use of charcoal or electric barbecues, as ours is charcoal we had to hire a gas one from the shop, we could have bought one for what it cost to hire for a week and it did not really get hot enough.
One or two little niggles and it’s not the cheapest site out of season but the pool area makes up for a lot.

We had á great 2 weeks on this lovely site. Easy to find & good access. Reception team spoke good English & were very helpful, you get shown to your pitch. We would have struggled without our mover as the pitches are down alley type avenues with around 8 to 10 pitches in each. Our pitch was a little lumpy & sandy & it was only mid June, we did have a mole though - hence the lumps!
Own water & drainage if required. Good shower & toilet facilities that were kept clean. The pool complex is fabulous - something for everyone & the warm water massage bed area was lovely. The bar area was great & food served but both food & drink a bit pricey but then it was convenient.
You could buy daily fresh bread & croissants at the on site shop which again was pricey but then it is a convenience shop! The area around is good & flat for cycling, you can cycle through the forest into the main town & then back along the sea front promenade.
The twice weekly market is well worth a visit. All in all a lovely site but would be very busy in the season as it is 'all singing & dancing' type of site. We would definitely use it again if in that area.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in August with husband and 2 boys aged 11. Site not too busy and had a lovely big pitch. We were at the end of a cul de sac comprising of around 8 units and we were all English. There were a lot of French in other areas. Site was fully serviced but I forgot the long water hose. I also forgot the converter plug for hook up but they sold me a cheap one in the reception. There were 4 toilet / shower blocks. It is worth looking at them all, some were shared for male and female and some were single sex. Some were lovely and clean and hardly used and worth the walk as not a massive site. Pool was lovely and clean, main pool a bit cold and indoor pool was mostly used by the teenagers. There is a great slide but we witnessed many bad accidents by children (and the lifeguard) changing their mind and trying to walk back down the stairs. They slipped the whole length of the stairs. There was one lifeguard on duty. Hardly used the shop but ok if you ran out of something. Reception were very helpful. The entertainment was in the bar / restaurant and they made you feel as if you had to buy something to watch it. The U2 tribute band were brilliant and the boys liked the candy floss party! Food and drink were ok and the staff were very welcoming. Brilliant area for cycling, we cycled to the beach and also into the woodland trails. The static caravans on site looked very close together and the safari tents that you could hire looked great. The play park was large and well used. We spoke to a couple near us who leave their caravan in storage about 10 mins away. The storage company delivered the caravan to their pitch and collected it, they said this cost them 350 euros a year which I thought was a bargain! You can hire a fridge on this site, which I wish I was aware of as the caravan fridge is quite small and not that efficient. It would have been a great addition in the awning for keeping the wine chilled! We travelled overnight on the st Malo ferry and it was an easy drive down. The caravan club (rightly so) recommended that we book another site near the ferry for one night coming home. The barrier on la yole didn’t open until 7am so we would not have made it back in time, although the “plain aire” stops on the motorways looked ok to stop for one night. We loved staying at the site in St Malo and would like to go there again also.

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday here. From initial enquiry to arrival, all communication was excellent. We were shown to our pitch on arrival by receptionist on his bicycle. This was a decent size, plenty of room for our 23ft caravan, awning and car. The staff all over the site were attentive, helpful and English spoken throughout. Even finding a caravan tyre supplier as we had a blow out en route. The shop is open 8 - 8 daily, great fresh bread and everything else you'd need. Yes you pay extra for the convenience, but not a rip off. We had a very noisy drummer/singer one evening in an adjacent pitch. Very quickly dealt with by security. A great base for daily trips out, by car or bicycle. Don't miss Puy du Fou, best theme park for all ages we've ever visited. Discounted tickets from site reception. We said we'd only ever go to an area or site once, but we've already booked this caravan site for next summer. Top site, top area, great weather too. Roll on 2016.

We stayed in one of their tent, which was perfect because within 15 min of us arriving we were sorted and on our way to the pool. We loved this site, it was clean tidy and there was plenty to do for our three children age 16, 8, and 6. The pool so very clean and always sunbeds and chairs for us all the sit on. We felt this site was very safe as we let our younger children go to park shop each morning to buy milk and French bread on their bikes, there are cars driving around, but everyone is going very slow and on look out for children on there bikes, walking and playing. It rained on the first day but that was it, the sun was out for rest of 2 weeks. The beach is very near but we did drive (cos all stuff we took with us) its very lovely but the sea could be cold some days and very windy (took wind break each day). We really loved this site and would recommend anyone with children to visit their.

Ok here I give my honest opinion on this site as a 32 year old woman travelling with hubby of 46 and kids aged 6, 9, 9, 14 and 14 in a touring caravan and tent from 27th July until 11th August 2013.
Upon arrival we booked in and were shown to our pitch which has no restriction on which way we wanted our unit set up which was good but tiny! We managed a standard sized caravan with awning and minibus and no room left.
We had a grand comfort pitch was was great with constant water and drainage saving us the hassle of constant trips to and from.
As there were 7 of us we had to book two pitches and take a small tent ever though we have a 5 birth caravan with a double sleeping annex on the awning only to find there are no checks or wrist bands to enter the park and the teens spent most nights in the van and not the tent so in hindsight could've saved 500€!
The park is no where near how big they make out to be on websites so your well packed in with less than a metre between your van and next doors!
Unfortunately the grand comfort pitches back on the the best and newest shower, toilet and laundry block (only 4 large showers so always queues) which is very convenient but teens tend to like this place to hang out till all hours and people feel the need to slam shower doors through till the early hours.
The chemical disposal point is also in the end cubicle of the ladies which had its own door but just a cubicle wall separating it so avoid toilets when people are emptying!
French men are also quite often in the ladies weeing or cleaning teeth which having young girls in n out alone was very unsettling and I often lingered to make sure the girls left ok even though I had no idea who they were.
There is advertised a kids club which runs from 10am which would've been great for our youngsters but upon arrival at 10am we were informed that we were too late to register and they were full! Then we were told it only runs for two hours and is basic colouring in or a game of boules, pretty appalling if you ask me!
The pool bar area has wifi and boules but is no where near the reception which is where you need to book and pay!
The pool itself was a bit cold but still fine for a splash around in high temperatures and the kids loved it, there is a small slide but don't be fooled it packs a punch on its twist which I hated but again kids loved.
If you intend in sunbathing by the pool you need to queue before 10am opening to get your towels down as its not that large and gets very busy. There is also a small indoor heated pool which again seemed to be a teen hang out and was no where near safe for my little one to be in with this lot!
The play area is huge and very very good with a large sandpit and ideal for the kids to go off of an evening when it's cooling down.
Prod imminently English guests with a few French which is good if you like to mingle but most seem to keep themselves to themselves.
The shop had quite a bit of stuff that you would need but the prices were over double than anywhere else for bog basic essentials so we avoided this other than a fresh baguette daily.
There are a few large you supermarkets around which is handy and well priced.
Bbq's are permitted on pitch as long as they are gas and can be hired if you don't have one which was good as the restaurant again was very expensive so we never tried the food there except chips on a late night back starving and they were good sized and very yummy!
The site is meant to have security from 10:30pm with restrictions on the amount of noise but it is by far the most noisy park we have ever stayed at throughout france and uk and the security were no where to be found!
The local area itself is just ok with gift shops bike hire and a few places to eat. The local beach is by far the best and once discovered we never returned back to the pool as there was good food and drink at good prices, rocks dividing areas which kids crabbed in and excellent waves for bodyboarding and lovely clean sand all overseen by lifeguards which were on the ball and were constantly up and down in a boat or on a quad which made me more happy to let my children swim alone.
We travelled into saint jean de monts itself which is fantastic!
There is a lovely beach with lots of activities and lots of good places, shops, pharmacies, rosalee bike hire shops and plenty of fair type rides up lots of side streets which were fab and a rotisserie chicken shop which was excellent and very well priced.
Best of all was King Glacé which is by far the largest and best ice cream place we have ever seen with sooo many flavours to choose from on waffle cones made whilst you wait.
We also drove along the cost towards St Gilles which is a stunning little area to visit and recommended but avoid the Aquarium in Normoutier if you want a good day out that's longer than half and hour for 80€!
The reception staff are very friendly and helpful but the rest of the staff seem skeleton staff and when they do appear they don't talk or seem very nice especially the bar tender!
On our second week two units arrived and basically did what they wanted when they wanted all day and all night and got away with it, the kids were a nightmare frequently banging on tents and all of them just walked through pitches with no respect for nothing and this is something no site should allow!
The toilets were cleaned regularly and were ok seeing as the site was pretty busy but the shower cubicals always seemed a bit grim with temperature controls that don't work and frequently went so hot you had no choice but to go.
Overall we had a lovely holiday every day spent off the park and bad nights with constant noise and no we will not return to this site!

This is our site of choice in St Jean de monts, we have tried others with fancier pools and entertainment but always return here. The reception staff are friendly and helpful, yes sometimes there is a queue, but if 5 or 6 vans turn up at once that's what happens. The shop has a fair choice but is expensive, we'd rather do a big shop in a supermarket to last us, and only use the shop for fresh bread. The bar and restaurant are reasonable and do nightly specials such as moules and frites. Occasional evening entertainment is ok, sometimes in French sometimes in English. Pool is basic with one slide, a toddlers pool and an inside pool, there is a life guard present, boys/ men must wear speedos. The pool does get quite busy, however we' ve never had trouble getting beds be it 10am or 2pm. Toilets and showers are cleaned, but again when your sharing with lots of others not everyone is as hygienic as the next, always had hot water, and we have used all the shower blocks as pitched in a different spot every time.
Large children's play area, boules pitches, table tennis, tennis courts. , I suppose avoid pitches by the park if you want it dead quite, although how previous reviews say noisiest site, we think it's one of the quietest in the immediate area, the only noise we hear is from other sites, security have asked us to turn our tv down at 11. 30 as others are sleeping, plus they are sited by the gate and you cannot drive in after 10. 30pm you have to park outside, they also patrol the park of an evening hence our late night knock! But they are doing their job. St Jean de monts is a great seaside resort, it has lovely beaches, a 10 minute walk or free car park, a strip of shops and fab ice cream parlours, again loads of free parking, a small water park (Atlantic tobbgan), and if you're there the right time in August a super firework display. Further afield St Giles Croix de vie (15 min drive) is a bigger town with a huge E. Le'clerc supermarket and good restaurants, or normountier (45 min drive) big water park and shops. I don't normally leave reviews but want campers to know how lovely this hidden gem is.
We stay for four weeks in the summer, 99% of the time you get fab weather in the Vendee, we have been since our children were young and they are now middle teens, if you're looking for a relaxing place with lots to do in the local area we couldn't recommend a better site or area.

We spent 17 nights here this summer and it was just okay. The pitches were a really good size and no restrictions on which way around your outfit had to be so we were able to face our friends who we had travelled with.
The playground was good but had no shade at all. The pool area was clean but there were many teenagers playing quite boisterously with no regard for small children and they had their ball confiscated by the lifeguard on a couple of occasions as it was being whizzed around the pool area.
There was a children's 'disco' which was really good - BUT it was only on 1 night per week which was a real shame. The site is in a good location - close to all amenities and the beaches. The showers were clean but quite worn and there was no way to control the
Water temperature; one minute it was hot the next quite cool. We had a really good holiday but would try other sites in future.
