Lovely quiet site that is well cared for, good amenities, very clean,
Local taxi to take you into town, notice board with reasonable taxi service and food takeaway services displayed in toilet block,
Only issue I had was it should be better signed up as travelled past it and had to travel some distance to have room to turn car n caravan around.

This is our third visit, staying in both tent and motorhome, visiting family. Perfect for our requirements: a simple site, always clean, calm with lovely views.
Everything worked fine for us (there is a knack to the shower - mains power must be on to register money in meter).
It can feel windy, but then this is Cumbria and we haven't lost a tent yet!
The owner is always helpful at replying to text messages. A basic picnic bench would be helpful.

Ellergill, we loved our 5 nights camping. If you enjoy camping and enjoy peace and quite then this is the place.
The amenities are basic but everything you need eg warm shower and toilets and washing station.
There are lovely walks and a walk down to the seafront to watch the sunsets.

Our second stay on this beautiful, totally peaceful open field site near to Egremont. It has two (or three?)toilets, one shower and out-door covered washing-up area, all which work well, and this level of facilities suited us.
We also like that only part of the site is mown in a careful circuit, the grass in the centre is allowed to grow tall and some young trees have been planted.
It has good, clean, lit toilets and the owner fixed the simple power-related problem with the shower as soon as we told them. (Remember to bring £1 or 50p coins too!)
There is an easy walk along a lane to enjoy the pebbley beach, or even walk on to St Bees! For us, a brilliant central location for visiting family and lakes, or just enjoying dark night sky.
We had two small tents and a motorhome and even though a fairly exposed site, all stayed put even in strong winds, so the surrounding hedges may help.
We were very happy to remember to always shut the gate, which is essential here as there are horses nearby.
Our only suggestion is that it would benefit from another picnic bench or at least a more sturdy one.

Lovely, quiet site in a very rural location.
Brilliant views east to the Lake District.
Facilities were basic but entirely adequate.
Slightly nervous about the informal approach of texts as the main method of contact (probably an age thing!) - it worked fine, though!
Would definitely book again if in the area, and it is certainly excellent value for money.

Lovely little campsite, basic but has wonderful views, two toilets, a shower and somewhere to wash up.
A small campsite but I would rather have this campsite any day than one that’s all singing and dancing with bells on. Very quiet.

We had a wonderful stay on this quiet, private camp site with glorious views across the distant fells. We had a motorhome and two small tents for our family.
The toilets were clean, the shower was good (we had pound coins for the meter) and the covered washing up area was out of wind and rain.
Ideally situated mid-lakes for us to reach everywhere we needed to, including Great Nephew's christening!
Egremont with shops and take-aways is not far by car and there were emergency telephone numbers if needed.
There were no other campers on site, just horses next door to give the occasional cough and sound of happily galloping heels!
It suited us perfectly but may not be for those who expect more amenities.
Bonus: we could walk to the sea in 20 minutes. We would stay here again.

Another good stay, we had the whole site too ourselves which was great for the dog!
Only thing was don’t think the facilities had been cleaned before we arrived, we had to clean the sink before we could use it.
Other than that was fine for basic site. It could do with a bit of TLC, when raining decking to toilets is very slippy and a good clean needed
