I was staying at the large field at the far end of the site for non electric tent pitches. There was plenty of space and lots of trees to provide shade during the hot weather.
I can't understand complaints about facilities because they were brand new, spotlessly clean and almost like hotel standard with fancy Dyson hand dryers.
This location is near the main road but noise isn't intrusive. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Bicycle rental is very handy because the campsite isn't far from the centre.
The bar and pizza van is very convenient and has some excellent Belgian beers. All the pitches for motorhomes, caravans etc are screened by numerous trees and hedges so it doesn't feel like an enormo-park (even though it is!).
Only complaints were lack of laundry facilities and power points in the facilities for charging phones etc.
Otherwise, a very enjoyable stay.

Reception staff very friendly and helpful.
Pitch large and private.
Toilets dated, not necessarily clean and lacked amenities such as toilet paper and hot water.
Bus easy to catch to Gent - number 11.
Access to water park nearby- free with a card given at reception.
Expensive at 40euros a night, no electric, to park in a grassy spot.

** Now called ‘Urban Gardens’ **
This is a very large, and at peak times, extremely busy site …. It is basically divided up between motorhomes / caravans at the southern end (closest to the lake), gradually transforming into camping at the northern end, culminating in a large free range camping field ….
Despite booking over one month in advance, we found ourselves (in our van) pitched amongst the tents at the north end, which naturally contained a large number of boisterous children …. The north end is also adjacent to the main N466 dual carriageway, which is noisy, with a good measure of emergency vehicle sirens thrown in ….
However, the site itself is good and has several new, & very smart, facilities blocks, however there are no laundry facilities …. But there is a bar & a pizza van, both open of an evening ….
Access into Ghent is very good - walking into the Old Town takes about 45 mins - obviously cycling would be faster, or there is an excellent bus service from close to the site entrance ….
There is no longer a free courtesy bus - but the service bus (No. 11) runs every 15 mins …. - You can also catch the bus (No. 19) to Ghent Railway Station, for a 21 minute trip to Bruge ….

Good location with easy access to city centre.
Perfect for cycling in on safe cycle paths.
Easy bus in to the centre too.
Free access to the nearby lake for swimming/paddle boarding too and decent bar with pizzas on site.
Facilities clean but dated.

Great location close to bus route for city
Quiet pitches. on our trip heavy rain so pitches suffering lots of mud and water
Early season so toilets only partially open and oversubscribed, queues for showers
We would use again but in better weather

An ideal site if you're looking for somewhere to stay close to Gent.
It's in the middle of a large area devoted to health and sport, there are sports halls, a climbing wall, tennis hall etc and we saw lots of joggers around.
Being quite urban there is noise from a train line. The pitches are a bit unkempt and drainage not great when it rains.
The free shuttle bus picks up close to the site and takes you into Gent, and it runs every 15mins.
We thought the toilet and shower facilities to be pretty basic by what we are used to in the UK, but the water was hot and both gents and ladies had an oversized cubicle with adaptions for the less mobile.
There is a pizza van permanently sited next to the bar area, and the pizzas are great, but be prepared for lengthy waits.
Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Now known as Urban Gardens Camping and open all year round. Perfect location for Ghent but also for getting the train to both Antwerp and Brussels which is what we did over New Year.
Good free shuttle into city centre and Number 19 bus for train station.
Some boggy pitches so take mats if staying in rainy season.
Toilet block clean and hot showers. Small cafe on site and a pizza truck is also open (all months except December and January). Great location for sports with a large lake situated next door.
Also great place for travelling with family/ friends who don't have their own accommodation as they have a large number of lodges that can be rented.
Electric bikes available to hire on site.

This is a campsite like no other I have stayed at. The campsite is just a small portion of a large sporting complex, in the middle of Ghent or Gent as it is spelled locally.
The campsite is very large and caters for all types of campers. There is a free shuttle bus into the centre and a handy bus service to the station.
The site has many facilities like a bar / restaurant and a pizza making place. It is well worth the effort to find it.
We were told it was difficult to find but you just have to be very careful and believe all the mad things that the Google maps lady tells you.
The staff are very friendly. Highly recommended. Nearly forgot; it has the highest water pressure I have ever experienced. Be warned, both when taking a shower or when filling your water bottle :)

Easy to find. Easy check in, order bread and pay for order day before. Toilet blocks clean but bins area was very messy.
Toilet emptying one was out of use and other one blocked. We had a very odd pitch (207) only access was by the pitch next to us where they park their car.
Lack of knowledge from reception that the park and ride bus at the end of the road wasn't on due to an event and the bus that comes into the park was also not running. Luckily we find a bus 30 minutes walk away.
Ghent was a lovely place to visit.
Great for children as access to beach area in the park.

Very nice, large site. Large, private pitches, no problem with large motorhome and trailer.
Needs a bit of TLC, though.
Got a feeling that it was still out of season although been here in June.
