I loved my glamp. Exceptionally comfortable and large inflatable double bed and cosy, watertight bell tent with carpets plus all the bits and pieces you need to complete your stay, ie coffee making facilities, washing up kit, bedside table and lamp as well as general interior light, camping chairs, gas stove and even hot water bottles (not that I needed one).
The pitches are separated by windbreaks for some privacy and I liked the sweet little bridges in the trees on the short walk to the shower and toilet blocks.
The whole site has a characterful, rustic, retro feel in a positive way that gives the camping experience a frisson of adventure. Ideal for young families, I'd say.
Friendly owner Andy and dog too!
Location is perfect: just a 10-minute walk across a field to the beach for an early morning dip!

Another lovely holiday staying at Bijou Campsite.
All of the people that help run it are very friendly and it is a great experience.
Love the showers, brushing your teeth and washing up outside.
A really well run site, we love it.
Cheers Andy

Plus points – it’s a great location for all the amenities of Swanage (you can walk into town in 5 minutes), the staff were very friendly, there’s a breakfast van on site and the site was quiet from about 10pm.
On the down side, having paid c. £100 per night for a glamping bell tent, the associated facilities weren’t quite what I expected – bell tents pitched very close to each other with only a foot high windbreak between them, with touring tents pitched haphazardly between them.
Shared, rudimentary, facilities with the 80ish other pitches (only 6 toilets and 6 showers, all of which were in a communal area with the washing up facilities). Firepit was an old baking tray stood on 2 bricks.
Great campsite if you’re just paying basic rates for a basic campsite, but I think that the ‘bijou glamping’ part is pushing the boundaries a bit too far and took the shine off the glamping ‘pizazz’ that I’d sold this holiday to my family on.

Loud with terrible facilities. Our booking included a gas stove that was faulty and caused a fire in our tent, we then had to wait two days for a replacement.
The fire pit included for 'glamping' was an elderly baking tray and two bricks (which we had to find ourselves).
The showers were cold and unreliable with no privacy (a thin plastic curtain facing the washing up stations), the toilets were grim with a urinal left overflowing for more than a day.
Having been told we were booking peaceful glamping we arrived to a row of bell tents pitched about 2 meters apart. For the first few nights there was a rowdy group of 10 adults, for subsequent nights there was a group of teenage boys.
The site allowed loud radios until 11pm and suffered badly from road noise.
The toilet was a five minute walk across two unlit bridges over streams so inaccessible at night.
A really bad campsite in a wonderful location.

We had an amazing time staying on the Swanage site Bijou Camping.
Very quiet and spacious with facilities that are needed.
5 minutes from the seafront so situated perfectly.
Would love to go back and would definitely recommend. Thank you to Andy that runs it, you were a gentleman from start to finish

Absolutely fantastic camp site and exactly what camping should all be about. Good facilities and friendly owner and staff.
Flat grass camping areas and you are free to pitch up wherever you like.
Dogs, campfires and BBQ's are allowed.
Parking is outside the actual pitch up area so great for children to feel free to run around safely.
Easy walking distance to Swanage town and beach.
Quiet time on site after 11pm so no loud noise keeping you awake at night.
Divided into separate small camping fields surrounded by trees and bushes.
Near by large playing field and park. Breakfast van on site in the mornings.
I honestly can not think of anything bad to say about this site.
Definitely will be going back.

We stayed at bijou camp site for the first time, this year and found that it was a very friendly site and even though facilities were basic we had warm showers, real toilets many washing facilities,
We couldn't have been any closer to swanage town which was an eight minute walk, the car stayed on car park for the whole week and didn't have to worry about car park charges,
We also enjoyed playing football golf and Frisbee golf,
We would definitely recommend this site to all our friends who are looking for a cheap camping holiday.

Great location a short 5 minute walk into Swanage. The noise policy worked well with most respecting the 11pm to 8am cut offs.
The fact there are no allocated pitches was not an issue, the site was fully booked but it didn't feel like it was and finding a space with plenty of room was not a problem.
3 gas fired showers were a little temperamental in terms of receiving a consistent water temperature the 2 electric showers were efficient.
Generally the facilities were of good quality and as predicted.

We enjoyed this site, the facilities are simple and clean, recycling is good. Individual toilets and showers, allows for social distancing.
Loved that we could bbq and have fires. Great atmosphere, camping in field accessible by foot bridge, so no cars on the actual site.
Walking distance to Swanage town and beach via park, which is great. Can also access SW coast walks without taking a car.
No shop on site but town close and a garage shop nearby. Good information at time of booking, so we were aware of this.
