I've just gone on to your website to get up-to-date details for Ivy House Farm and I can't believe it's now closed. We stayed here in May 2008 as the site was run by Jan and Roger Bunting who were Motorcaravan Club members, as we are.
We've wanted to go back there for some time, but it's a long way from Devon, where we live unless we happen to be in that area. This year we will be in Lincoln and would have been a golden opportunity to go back.
Whilst we were there, my husband was taken ill and had to be admitted to Boston Hospital as an emergency and taken in by Blue Light ambulance. Not only did Jan and Roger look after our German Shepherd they were absolutely wonderful. Picking up my husband on discharge, taking us all round Boston to find a duty chemist for his medication etc.
Not only was the site lovely but I will never forget their kindness. We also brought home one of the many kittens that were running around. We called her Sophie and she is now 8 years old. We would have loved to go back so they could see what a beautiful cat she now is.
Very sad indeed that we can no longer do that. If they do re-open I'm hoping that someone will post a review to let everyone else know.

Found this site on UKCampsite and just returned from a great weekend. Dave and Debs welcomed us with a cuppa as we were getting the tent out. The site is clean and tidy and was nice and quiet. There is a portakabin which has a loo, shower, washing up area, fridge/freezer and kettle and toaster. The ladies shower wasn't working but was told to use the one in the house which was great. There are plans to develop/modify the site shortly. Price per night was £10 which is a complete bargain with electric available for a small additional cost. Great base for visiting the surrounding area and we'll certainly be back!

Came here august bank holiday found it on the uk. Campsite late availability site. What a find. Ok site is rundown but owners are trying to bring it back to some normality but that is only part of it they care about you. They will help when need arises. They are friendly and welcoming but not overpowering. This is one site the wife and I will revisit. Last time we booked 4nights but stayed for 6, we chilled out that much

Just had another brilliant bank holiday weekend at this campsite, it is the best campsite we have gone to we go there at least three to four times a year, we always have a relaxing time there. The kids like it there feeding the animals. The owners are two of the nicest people you will meet and they always make you feel welcome, there is a pub & shop about a mile away, the facilities are good & it is excellent value for money,

Once again we have had a wonderful holiday on this site, even though we have changed to a touring caravan the owners made us so welcome. We were able to pick our own pitch this time on the meadow area.
Our son & his partner came for bank-holiday weekend with their tent & even thought it was their first time they both enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the camp-site & have both said they would love to return again.

Enjoyed stay here. The site is full of animals, but did not hear them at night,
Showers and toilets were basic but clean. Use of kettle, microwave and fridge offered and washing up facilities. Hookup available,
Very friendly and helpful site manager. I was able to pick my own pitch on level and well kept ground,
Perfectly situated for visits to various places of interest from national trust, wildlife sanctuaries, walks in countryside and fishing,
Local shops close by including a decent sized morrisons in boston itself, a pub serving excellent food only 2. 5 miles away
Truly excellent site and one I hope to visit next year

Firstly the site is well described in the sense that it is very much full of animals and has a very rustic feel about it, the bird and animal noise was great to hear and did not interfere with our sleeping following some great days out.
The sites description of its facilities is slightly misleading the ' new facilities block' is not very new at all and is effectively a portakabin which has a ladies and gents toilet and one shower within each side. The block is very Heath Robinson, the showers are temperamental including the one on offer attached to the house, the drainage from the shower is poor so not the most hygienic of facilities. Unfortunately the ladies shower was out of order this bank holiday weekend which created a bit of a problem given the number of people on site. Although the block has free of charge kettle, fridge etc this area is still very rustic. The entrance to the block has chipboard steps which someone put their foot through this weekend.
The site manager was helpful and pleasant and the site is fine for a cheap and cheerful getaway, it just feels like it needs a little bit of love and attention to things like signage for waste areas, the chemical waste area was overgrown- which was remedied by the manager when we asked where it was.
The barn area was used by another group over the weekend and was a fab contingency plan for wet weather parties.
Pitch sizes are fab, and for £13 a night inc EHU you can't complain, the site is ideally located for exploring Boston, the coast and other sites of interest.

Management response: Thank you for your kind remarks and may I apologise for the shower problem? No-one told us that they had broken the shower and despite our best efforts as soon as we found out we were unable to get a plumber in time to fix it for the Jubilee weekend. The whole shower unit has to be replaced and that is now in hand but we did make our house shower available. Whoever put their foot through the step board kept very quiet about it but a full repair has been effected with new carpet for the steps. We only provide the small toilet block for the few tent campers that we get as caravans and motorcaravans do have their own facilites and we do not charge for use of the block at all. I am sorry that the site is a little overgrown but we have had a combination of three events this summer - my poor health which has forced us to put the site up for sale, the heavy rain and a very temperamental lawn mower! |

Once again we have had a very quite and relaxing holiday at this camp site. Unfortunately Roger & Jan were away, but we were looked after by Karl who made us welcome.
We had the pick of sites to pitch on and once again we pitched on the sheltered spot called Downton. We are looking forward to going again next year as the welcome and the variety of animals on this site is great.
It is especially a good site for nature watches and families with children, as the animals roaming free around the camp which are good for interacting with.

Well had another great weekend at ivy house farm, it is a relaxing place to stay with many animal's on the site.
We got to pick are own pitch which was good, there are plenty of lights to see your way at night. The toilet block is clean and tidy, and there is a small kitchen to use.
We had no problem's with the electric hook up. The ground was in excellent condition, The owner's are very helpful and have a vast knowledge of the area and what wildlife you are likely to see around the site (and the wildlife is a nice touch).
There are plenty of drinking water points. There are shop's a short drive away
