We arrived at the site and set up in the meadow. As we had never been to this site before and this was only our second time in the caravan we were apprehensive about what we would encounter. We expected the owner to tell us were to go and require payment as soon as we arrived. However we were delighted with the relaxed atmosphere on the site. Roger was more concerned about whether we were happy on the site than administration!
We fell in love with the site. We moved the caravan due to high winds in the meadow to one of the protected sites but that only added to the memories. We loved the animals and the barn. We loved the mother duck and her ducklings wondering around the site all day. We loved watching Roger feed the owls and were privileged when Roger showed us one of the tortoise as it hatched from the egg. He also provided for dogs to be on a run whilst there
I loved the fact there were no play areas for children and Roger reminds parents that we are responsible for the safety of our own children. Something site owners tend to shy away from these days.
I did have a problem with the shower in the portable cabin but Roger immediately fixed it. The site is as it says it is. Relaxed with a warm welcome and plenty of animals. It does not boast airs and graces but reminds me of camping with my parents as a child - only this time with electric hook-up (and our own child!)We will be returning. The only draw back was that I could not purchase milk on site. However the information Roger provided about shops and the surrounding area was superb.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a most enjoyable weekend stay at Ivy House Farm. This site is very good value for money at £8 a night including a shower and use of a fridge freezer.
The site is located close to Boston but you feel like your in the middle of nowhere. The owners gave us a very warm welcome and invited us to guided tour of the animals, including owls, goats, cats, ducks and rabbits to name a few.
Our pitch was sheltered with flat ground and close to the facilities.
You would find it hard to get better value for money anywhere else. Would certainly stay here again.

When we first arrived at Ivy House Farm we were not sure what to expect - but I am happy to say that we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The location and size of the site meant that the kids could go and explore whilst we got set up - the site is very child friendly and our 2,4 and 7 year olds were absolutely safe to wonder around.
The facilities were basic but more than enough for the size of the site.
The whole family loved the fact that the animals were free to wonder and the kids loved feeding the bunnies and chasing the ducks. Owls were in very big enclosures and peacocks roamed about freely.
The site was in an excellent location - close enough to spend the day in Skegness or Sutton on Sea, but also secluded enough to have a quiet and relaxing break.
Will definitely be going back - next time for 2 weeks.

We really enjoyed our time at this site last year, so much so that we are planning another visit this year (if they'll have us!).
We took our 3 children and 2 dogs and stayed in our caravan for a week. We had a really pleasant time. I was worried that there was nothing for the children to do, but how silly was I? I didn't see them until they came back for food! The menargery of animals kept them occupied from dawn util dusk and they loved feeding the animals with the owner.
One good thing the owner pointed out to us was that there is a kennel just down the road, so if we wanted to go out for the day we could book our dogs in and not worry! The other good thing about this site is its location, near to Boston and the sea. We even found a really friendly beach that was very clean despite the fact that dogs were also allowed. This was brilliant for us as this meant that the whole family could enjoy a day out!

If you like animals then go! Just got back home and felt it necessary to add to the positive reviews! Tricky to find but worth the effort. Never stayed anywhere like it. Basic facilities but its £8 a night and you get a shower each, sinks and access to a fridge. Its a well kept and clean site but what makes the difference is the animals. Ducks, Peacocks, Cats and rabbits simply roam about. We woke the first morning and had breakfast with a big ginger rabbit and a family of 11 ducklings. (The rabbit lets you stroke it and the lil ducklings eat out of your hand!) The owners are pleasant and helpful too. If you want to be close to nature then this place is definitely worth a visit!

I don't think we've ever had such a warm welcome from a campsite owner, than the one we received when we made our initial phone-call or when we finally met Roger at the campsite. On the phone he said 'drive around and pitch up where you like.' And he meant it. We settled on a corner spot with far reaching views to our right and ahead of us.
I texted Roger to say we had arrived, his text back said, 'Good. Fancy coming to watch me feed the baby owls.' We were with him like a shot! To say this campsite is laid back is an understatement. The type of laid-backness that's mutually respectful. The animals (ducks and rabbits roam freely) are all rescued; old and battered owls resemble old and battered pub doormen. The kettle in the little kitchen area was very welcome for that first cup of tea or hot water bottles at night.
One negative comment; it was windy! But even Roger couldn't fix the weather, otherwise I think he would have done so, and quickly.

We have visited Ivy House Farm a few times over last couple of year. Each time we have visited Jan & Roger have been very helpful. We use this site as its great for groups normally there's 10 or more families in our party. Roger accommodates for us on the top rally field and normally guarantees us the field to ourselves so we don't disturb anybody as noise travels!
Over last couple of years Roger has been updating the shower block and is still trying his best to improve things round the site.
We all as a group find this site lovely and peaceful.Kids love it even though there's not much there for them to do,they play in the barn roger takes them to see the animals.
Its a cheap site to stay on and is excellent for large groups, and we as a group will definitely be returning next year.
Keep up the good work Jan & Roger.Donny Rally

This is the first time we used this site, well what a welcome. Easy access. Jan & Roger really nice couple. Had a great time. This is a C&CC site and easy going, just what the doctor ordered
Don't come if you don't like animals or wild life or peace & quiet. We rate this as 100% for all the effort that Jan & Roger have put into this.
Will be using this site more and we travelled from Sussex

My wife and I plus 2 friends (in a separate tent) visited this site in the last weekend of April based on some previous reviews. When we arrived we were initially quite apprehensive as there were a number of old farm outbuildings. We had a look round and decided to pitch up in one of the Sheltered pitches which were quite nice and partitioned by established bushes.
We had a quick look around the site and inspected the toilet block. For us blokes it wasn't too bad with a shower and a couple of toilets, there were similar facilities for the ladies but the ladies in our group were not impressed as they were not the cleanest (but I suppose there is not much you can do with a modified portacabin).
The animals around the site (many roaming freely) seem fun during the day with the random sqwarking of Peacocks, Geese, Ducks amongst others. But when this continues into the early hours of the morning it becomes annoying, especially in a tent (it may be more tolerable in a caravan).
Overall a site with much potential.
Owner's comments: "We are suprised that the reviewer should take exception to animal noises when clearly all of our literature, and most of our reviews, acknowledge the presence of many animals and birds on our site, a principle reason why many people come. The isolation, the animals and our four CCTV cameras on various nests are a specific feature. Where their are animals and birds there obviously must be some animal and bird noise. At least there is no traffic noise here !
We have, as is also shown in our literature, a WC and separate shower at the house, but installed the portacabin toilet block with showers because of our popularity. We are however a CERTIFICATED SITE - a "Hobby" business charging between half and two thirds of what a fully licensed COMMERCIAL Site would charge. As a Certificated Site the only toilet facility that we are obliged to supply is a Chemical Disposal point for campers own toilet facilities. Nevertheless our facilities are checked daily and cleaned thoroughly twice each week and no charge is made for their use. If something requires attention then surely it would have been courteous to tell us at the time rather than make vague criticism publicly ? It is clear that despite the recommendations that we have which plainly set out the type of Site that we are, the complainant failed to comprehend that we are no more suitable to meet his expectations than he has ours - and that, despite our name being clearly shown as Ivy House FARM."

What a delightful, unsophisticated but very comfortable site. If you like CS / CL type sites, Ivy House Farm is sure to please.
Set well off the road, in a very quiet location, it is a real hideaway with the added interest of a large collection of animals including some rescued owls. Just a guess, but as it is situated on agricultural farmland, it is possible that you might to be disturbed by farm machinery operating should a crop be harvested.
Front gate is an old level crossing gate and there in much railway signage memorabilia about the site.
Two pitching areas. The ‘sheltered area’ is the first one you come to; it is level; marked out into 5 bays, and as its name suggests it is well sheltered. Each bay is named after an old railway station. We got ‘Alderbury Junction’, next to the duck pond, and very comfy it was too. Through the gate is ‘The Meadow’ which is somewhat larger; again level. Although many trees and shrubs have been planted, there is little shelter against the wind that can sometimes blow across the Lincolnshire Fens. Virtually every pitch has a picnic table.
Conveniently positioned between the two pitching areas are the facilities which are housed in a large Portacabin. Interior is simply, but very acceptably appointed with modern fittings. (Showers free). Most usefully, there is a kitchen area with fridge / freezer, microwave, toaster and electric hob.
Dogs are welcome but it is essential they be kept on a lead due to the free roaming animals on site.
There is also a recreation barn with TV; but not TV as you know it! Cameras are set up to monitor animal activity by day and night.
To sum up: At £9.50 per night including ehu, you will be hard pushed to get better value anywhere. What Roger and Jan are doing here is an inspiration. Yet another place taken in my personal top 20 sites!
