Only site I've ever rated 10/10. Nothing bad to say at all. Lovely, quiet, well-maintained, family friendly site. Spacious and clean toilets and showers.
Small shop with essentials (bigger range of sweets/snacks would be good).
Friendly and helpful owners/staff. Also great that they charge per person, not per pitch, making it a very cheap stay for solo campers.
Just a couple of things to point out - the site is on quite a slope, and it's a bit of a steep walk up to the loos from the rally field.
There is also a main road right next to the site, but it wasn't too busy through the night.
Hooks in the toilet cubicles would be useful 😊

Fantastic site with all you’ll need on site.
Well stocked shop.
Coffee hut selling all coffees and rolls.
Guest vendor on a Friday night. Great shower block.
You can even borrow a fire pit or bbq should you wish. 10 min walk to the local pub, along a busy road.
The road being the only downside, but wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Fantastic site, would definitely stay again.
Very busy as Bank Holiday weekend but the owners/ wardens were very friendly and welcoming.
Wonderful shop on site with pretty much everything you could want whilst travelling. Lovely local produce for sale including jams, honey and cider.
Decent size pitches, dishwashing area and very clean toilets and showers.
Pop up pizza available on Friday night, delicious and breakfast sandwiches, coffees and pastries available in the morning.
Great site for walkers.

I’ve stayed on a lot of sites and this one has a friendly, chilled out feel.
Staff are welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive.
Pitch was spacious for our two little tents.
Facilities are adequate and functional. Toilet block is clean if ageing.
Was peaceful at night.
Excellent location for walking and cycling oh and there’s a pub!

Lovely site located in the Black Mountains.
Good facilities, very friendly and helpful staff, well drained and level hardstanding pitches too.
We didn't sample the pizzas or morning pastries but they looked really good.
Despite the proximity to the road it was very peaceful overnight
Also, the village pub is excellent!
The only negative, and it is minor, is the lack of public transport as it is in a wonderful location for linear walks.
Ideal location for cycling too

This is a very friendly campsite spread over descending terraces with non electric tenting at the bottom adjacent to road which isn’t very noisy.
Good facilities and friendly staff.
Excellent walking direct from site - maps supplied if needed or use OS maps app - two cracking pubs are the Farmers Arms close to site and New Inn nearby in Bwlch.
Great location for short walking pub trips.
Bit expensive for non electric tenting at around £30 pn but we live in a charge-what-you-can world now sadly.

There was road noise from a nearby main road.
The pitch allocated was too small for our camper and awning. Elle the greeter was great and got us another pitch which had more room.
On two occasions young teenagers were washing their faces and brushing their teeth at the dishwasher station, spitting toothpaste into the sinks!
Showers and toilets were adequate.

We stayed at Cwmdu at short notice after our trip to Europe was cancelled by rail strikes. Our dealings with the site from start to finish were positive. We booked in haste then realised we could stay one more night, this was easily dealt with. We decided to add an extra shelter for our 'kitchen', this was also dealt with easily and efficiently.
We were greeted on arrival and shown our pitch, the wardens (we mostly dealt with Ben and Emily) were great, friendly and lovely to chat to.
The site was an excellent base for us to start exploring the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountain area and Black Mountains and we will need to return.
Our youngest was confident enough to explore the site soon after arrival, and we felt very safe letting her do so. A small children's play area and also access to another field for games was available for her. The older teenager was, as standard, mostly content to use the WiFi. The coverage of this was patchy at times, more of an issue for him than me. But when connected it was fast enough.
Some older reviews mention the lack of gents showers, there are now an additional two gents showers as well as a nice washing up area. Water was warm from the first press of the button.
I see a lack of recycling was mentioned in other reviews, we queried this and this is sorted by the waste and recycling company, so things are recycled. This is mentioned on the signs but we didn't spot it before asking the wardens.
After the stress of the holiday cancellation our stay at Cwmdu and the friendliness of all the team that we met was exactly what we needed!

Fabulous site. Everything you want from a site.
Well kept, spotlessly clean modern facilities,
Friendly hosts, excellent communication, great value for money,
Pub close by and in a beautiful location.
Dog friendly too and a shop that is small but well stocked and open at convenient times.
Nice touch this visit is the visiting food and coffee vans.

Lovely campsite, wardens helpful and friendly.
We had a magical walk up above the campsite, wonderful oak trees and magical bluebells.
Good, clean and quiet site.
Will go again
Sad they can’t do proper recycling of rubbish on site though
