A great location (a few mins from town centre) with good quality pitches and facilities.
Weather was awful when we arrived but we got allocated our hard standing spot promptly by a nice lady who was really helpful.
Showers nice and clean.

Lovely greeting from the warden at the gate, we were with a DA meet so showed to our pitch by the marshal.
Great motorhome service area, toilet and shower block lovely and warm and always spotlessly clean.
Nice walk into the town which was lovely with lots of independent shops and cafes.
Nice walk along the river but was a bit wet due to the recent heavy rain
Would recommend a visit and will be going again at some point

We booked a hardstanding and were offered a choice by the very helpful lady warden.
Pitches are a little shorter than some but we were advised to let the rear of the van overhang onto the grass.
As it had been very wet they asked us not to park on the grass, which was no problem There was room on the hardstanding.
Sanitary facilities were spotless with good hot showers, pushbutton but temperature can be adjusted to suit.
Site free wifi worked reasonably well. Phone and TV signals were fine.
It's a 25 minute walk into the nice town which has plenty of pubs and cafes, a good range of shops and a market.
The castle is worth a visit with nice gardens and views from the top.
The site is next to a park and by the river so plenty of places to walk.
The Edisford Bridge pub close to the site does good food and has very friendly staff.
The site is ideally placed for drives into the Pennines with great roads and spectacular scenery. We had some very wet weather some days so, were not able to travel as much as we would have liked but still had a good time.
Definitely coming back!
You have to drive through town to get to the site so care is needed due to parked vehicles. There is a railway crossing on the route, take it very slow crossing it. It's very bumpy.

Travelling as two mums with kids.
We liked:
The friendly staff
Very clean facilities
Location next door to park with sports field and play area, plus mini train
Walk of about 20mins into town, kids loved the skate park and castle museum.
Nice pub a five minute walk away from site
Flat pitch for tent and well drained.
Nice smooth roads around site for the kids to scoot or bike
Thai restaurant about ten mins walk away absolutely lovely.
Less keen on:
Sewagey smell wafting over our pitch a few times a day as we were right next to toilet block waste disposal (we weren't bothered too much as only staying one night but would have asked to move had it been longer).
Much more a camper van or caravan site so not the same tent camaraderie as is often pleasant.
Having to enter a code to use the loos is a right pain.
Not relevant to us but other people might want to know
Quite a lot of dogs on site
Grab rails in all showers and a seat are a great idea.
Good late leaving time of noon.
River with shallow sides / rocky style beach next to site good for paddling.
Overall a perfectly pleasant site for those who like it quiet.

Really lovely little site. Very green with an abundance of trees bushes and flower pots. Also some interesting witchy sculptures dotted about.
Toilet blocks both spotless and never had to queue for a shower. Plentiful hot water~push button shower but with temp control.
Hard standing pitches just wide enough for our caravan and small awning but had to park car across the front of the pitch.
Pitches nicely separated by wide areas of grass but the tent pitches looked a bit small.
Very good weather so streams of people passing the site to get to the picnic area with easy access to the shallow river.
Edisford bridge not far away but Road has no pavement and is very narrow with fast flowing traffic. Walk into Clitheroe took about 25 mins. Along paved roads and streets Holmes’s Mill has bowland food and beer hall.
Exceptionally busy due to the weddings being held at the venue. Interesting brewery equipment still there and lovely cool place to have a drink on a hot day.
Clitheroe very well served with supermarkets and has a very good artisan bakery. Can recommend the Emporium for delicious breakfast and Toms Table for evening meal as a treat.
Loads of dogs as obvious proximity to good walking facilities for them so we probably wouldn’t return to this particular site, but that’s our choice and no reflection on the very friendly and efficient wardens

Clean friendly site. Warm greeting by warden who shown us to pitch and guided us with parking.
Given guided tour of site to point out facilities etc. Warden also explained where nearest shop is and where bus or walk to town (25 min walk).
Toilets clean showers warm
Pleasant stay thank you

Some rather previous negative reviews however can’t agree. Site was lovely in every respect, were greeted respectively by staff on our arrival and it was chaos due to unforeseen road closure.
Toilet block a bit dated but functional, clean and shut for one hour from 1100.
Had a lovely hard standing pitch with loads of room either side and noticed a separate grassy section for tents.
Site in a picturesque area by river Ribble.
You can walk to Clitheroe or catch No. 2 bus that runs around the adjacent estate as we did.
Try the Bowland Beer hall opposite Sainsburys, it has a fantastic 16 real ales on plus reduced prices Tues to clear weekend stock.

Although this is a Camping & Caravan site, like many other C and C sites, tents are being squeezed out.
The ‘Friendly’ Club doesn’t feel so friendly to campers any more.
Loads of space if you have a caravan or camper van, but tents are much closer together, the ground isn’t flat or you are located under a telegraph pole, with the resulting pigeon mess on you tent or car.
Nor did we have any space to sit out as we had to keep the space clear for cars. After 3 nights we checked out.
Talking to one of the staff, he said that tents are now booking hard standing - why should we have to do this?
The site is clean, toilet blocks, well looked after, staff helpful.
But it is the lack of regard for tents that will mean we would never return.
