This was our second stay at this lovely family run campsite. It's in a good position for exploring Beaumaris (great for crabbing off the pier), Plas Newydd National Trust (Frisbee golf is good fun), the Sea Zoo and beautiful Newborough beach (the walk out to the island is stunning). We nearly didn't return after reading a previous review complaining about building works in the day and dogs barking through the night. We phoned prior and were assured there were no building works going on so booked 3 nights. We found it as we remembered, small, friendly, relaxed, clean and well run. They enforce the quiet after dusk so we all slept well without disturbance from noisy neighbours (or barking dogs!). The swimming pool is a lovely way to cool down and is an added bonus for what are very reasonable pitch rates. As it's a small site but has two blocks of showers and toilets we never had to queue for either. The kids loved the play park and made friends with the other kids there. Many pitches are taken by caravanners who are staying for the whole summer which speaks for itself. The owners are helpful but not intrusive and the last time we visited helped us out (free of charge) with spare tent pegs when we ran out. Our only regret about this campsite was that we couldn't stay longer and the kids made us promise to return again before the end of summer. We will be happy to do so :)

If you are lucky enough to own a caravan and be secreted away in the field behind the house you may have a lovely holiday. However, if you have the misfortune of being pitched at the front of the house (especially in a tent) then beware. We turned up to a friendly greeting from Mark and were told there was a little building work going on in the day and pointed to a small area with a tiny digger (the smallest you can get), we thought doesn’t look too bad so stupidly pitched our tent and went about the rest of our day. Only to be awoken the next morning by a dumper truck delivering a pile of gravel or similar at precisely 7:20am. Again stupidity reigned on our part and we thought ah well it’s a one off after all they’re just working on that small patch. So once again we continued on with our day, arriving back at the tent on the evening (around 7pm) a slightly bigger digger had arrived to replace the smaller digger. Thought nothing of it and went to bed. Only to once again be awoken by another delivery at precisely 7:20am. We decided to look on the bright side, yes we were having early morning wake up calls by a delivery of building materials each morning, but the rest of the holiday was going well so we’d just accept it and get on with it. This is when it became even worse. We arrived back at the tent for tea (about 5pm) a bulldozer had arrived on site and combined with the digger and other various equipment they continued to make noise until 6pm, it truly was like being on a building site! During all of this not one of the owners ever asked how we were getting on or how our stay was going. Then worse was to come that evening a pack of dogs from what sounded like across the road barked from 11pm until 6am. So we stayed up all night, my husband managed to collar George and ask him about the dogs. Now George is a self-righteous old chap (he thinks he knows everything) and we were told there are no dogs! Then the only other person to be pitched at the front of the house (he was in a caravan) walked past us and commented about the noise. My husband then went and spoke to him and he and his wife had also been kept awake through the night by these dogs (that George refused to acknowledge existed). The caravan owner was booked to leave that day, but informed us he would have gone anyhow after that night. With tiredness getting the better of us we decided to stay, waited for the delivery at precisely 7:20am (it was spot on time) and waited for the building site to begin at 8am (again spot on time) and left the campsite to go and find a quiet spot to recover from no sleep. That day of our holiday was completely spoilt we were like the walking dead. We tried to stay away from the building site we were camped on, but heat and tiredness got the better of us and we returned to the campsite at around 5pm and waited until 6pm for some piece and quiet. We were both that tired we were convinced nothing would keep us awake that night - how wrong we were! We fell asleep around 9pm only to be awoken by a pack of barking dogs at 2am, they didn’t stop again until 6am. And spot on 7:20am you guessed it delivery number 4! That was when my husband once again went to find George and tell him about the dogs. And George became a cantankerous old fool. Still insisting there were no dogs! Sarcastically pointing out there are working dogs in the countryside - after thirty plus years of camping this was plain insulting! He eventually and begrudgingly agreed to give us some of our money back so we could leave. I’ve never felt such relief as I did when I left here. We were two tired to drive the whole way back and found a little campsite near Betws-y-Coed that’s on a sheep farm with working dogs and you’ll be amazed to know George, these dogs don’t bark continuously all night! All I can say is if you enjoy not being told you’ll be pitched by a building site, if you like to stay up all night, if you like dated showers and toilets (they were very clean though) and if you want to camp on a site that only sells one type of gas bottle and no basic provisions (plus charges you 10p per ice pack to put in the freezer) then this is the site for you. If you don’t then try any other site on the planet.

Just had lovely stay on Fron Campsite on Anglesey. Great for kids who all congregated in the adventure playground and made friends quickly. Lovely hosts who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and well kept. I especially appreciated the fact that the showers and toilets weren't insecty as they often are on campsites. Shop selling essentials open for a period in the morning and late afternoon and freezer pack service for nominal price. Great location too - close to various attractions and rainy day options. Very nice swimming pool which wasn't heated so took a bit of courage to get in but was then fine. Thoroughly recommend.

 What a lovely little site!

Stayed here at the weekend in our campervan with our children. The site is very clean and level and we loved using the pool. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll definitely be back soon.

Visited Fron Caravan Park in August 2016.

The staff showed us to our pitch upon arrival and couldn't have helped more, gave us information about the local area and was very friendly.

The facilities on-site are kept clean an in good order, however are a little dated, showers are 40p for six minutes (I would prefer this to be added into the pitch cost and have free showers).

The kids playground is excellent as is the dog walk section at the front of the campsite.

The is a covered pool on site that isn't heated but is warm enough and is kept clean and tidy.

Overall a good campsite, giving a 9 out of 10 (if toilet block is modernised it would have been a perfect 10, the views form the site are also great

Wanted disabled friendly as my husband unable to walk far and my dad is in a wheelchair and this site did not let us down. Disabled facility first class. Camping fields very flat and very well maintained. We stayed friday to monday and had torrential rain and wind and had no problems with drainage the ground stayed solid. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Only downside is not near major supermarket to buy provisions but did have small shop on site and one in local village but definitely recommend this site 100%. Will hopefully be back next year.

A campsite with a lovely view and a short walk into the local village which has a chippy and a convenience store.

Also a short distance from Giddy Aunts tearoom and a bit further but walkable to Anglesey Sea Zoo

The campsite has a feeling of space and we had plenty of room on our pitch. Has its own small shop which is good for the children to have the odd treat ice cream and sweets etc. The play area was a good size and went down very well with our children.

The campsite was very clean at all times with plenty of showers and toilets

The pool was great but was a shame it did not open until the 1:30 pm and a morning swim would have been appreciated! Loved having a swimming pool.

Overall really pleased with this campsite and will be returning.

Just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at Fron. This family run site couldn't have been more accommodating from the moment we arrived. A clean, quiet site with excellent facilities including the kids favourite, a swimming pool! A great base for exploring Anglesey. Close by is Newborough beach and forest a beautiful area for running, cycling and relaxing.

Site was clean, toilets and showers basic but ok. The toilet lights were on a timer which meant you may find yourself sitting on the throne in the dark.

One thing that isn't mentioned on the website is the sloping pitches, take some bricks. The flat hard standing pitches appeared to be reserved for the season pitchers

The site is very regimented and the feeling we got from where the caravans were pitched is that children were meant to be seen not heard. Tents and caravans are segregated, therefore being in a tent maybe a different experience. We felt very uncomfortable being on this site and didn't like returning after our days out.

Getting into the site was extremely tight, especially as the site is located just below a bend.

Can recommend the Groeslon Hotel pub, dogs are allowed, we were made very welcome and food lovely.

Just returned from fron park May bank holiday, despite relentless rains our pitch drained really well and was more than ample for our family sized tent. Site was spotless, recycled waste, nice gardens, all in all well laid out site. Only complaints it was a bit regimented would not let children in dishwash area. My idea is to let everyone muck in, and let them earn there pocket money for once ! Also showers were a bit dated and only warm. Surrounding area very nice Newborough Forest, a little further afield South Stack so picturesque nice sunsets and good photos. Boat trip around Puffin Island really good plenty of wild life, lucky enough to see the elusive Puffins also a few dolphins and cormorants coming out of the sea with a mouth full of fish. Good Bank Holiday break even with the monsoon like weather.
