We have visited this site twice - being novice caravanners - we have found this site to be fantastic and the staff extremely friendly and pleasant. We have 3 young children (3, 4 and 5) and a dog and have really enjoyed each stay, even though each time it has absolutely poured with rain! The field does get boggy and we had lots of mulch under the groundsheet but surely that is what caravanning and camping is all about - take the good with the bad, it would be the same at most sites I would have thought with the amount of rain we have had lately. We went to this site as it was recommended to us, and I would strongly recommend it to anybody. We liked the fact of very clean washing facilities and hall were close by. 5 stars from us.

Just had a short weekend break - a few "older lads" (in our 40's) and found this site was spot on for our needs, which were: 1. A place to pitch small tents together near a central "cooking" gazebo. 2. Nearby toilet and showers 3. Close to the facility we were visiting 4. Friendly It was slightly pricey, but would have been about right had we been C&CC members. Will visit this site again!

Have been to this site several times. Always found the staff very friendly and helpful. They have a disabled pitching area . Hardstanding and near the facilities Easy site site to chill, especially by the pond - while fishing Nice playground for the children and indoor area Not sure what there is locally, it's one of the sites we have pitch and stayed . The shop at reception covers the basic needs We will be going back

I'd just like to say that although the people running the site were very nice and helpful, we were very disappointed with the position of our caravan. In the Big Sites brochure you see a wonderful lake surrounded by caravans and we were itching to park up and have a lovely view from the van, looking onto the lake. However, having arrived in the rain, we were led through to a field at the back which could have been in the middle of anywhere. We can't complain about the weather because that's life but I do feel that the brochure was misleading and all the people I spoke to felt similarly disappointed in the surroundings. In fact only a handful of vans could fit around the lake and the rest of us were pitched up with no view and not much space either. Such a shame.

The site was friendly, toilets / showers / wash up area clean and well maintained. The lake with its fishing and ducks was beautiful. In fact, I have no complaints at all. Just a word of warning to tenters (we were in a caravan). When the weather is inclement, as it was when we went, the ground gets very boggy and some tents were flooded. Check the weather conditions before you go.

My party consisted of two adults and (5 children age range 5 - 14) This site is pleasantly located with a lake that captures the eye upon arrival. If you like fishing you'll keep yourself amused for hours. There were a lot of caravans and trailers on location, but enough tents so that my party did not feel out of place.
Upon arrival the groundsman immediately mowed our pitch to "make it nice for us". I thought this was a good touch. However my three night stay went down hill from then on. Firstly there was nothing at all on site for children to do. The games hall was ill equipped consisting of a dart board and a tennis table (nowhere to hire rackets or darts). There was not even a patch of ground for children to play ball games on. Secondly the staff on duty when I visited seemed to be have the attitude that children were to be seen and not heard. They were constantly getting bent out of shape at the slightest thing our children did. I took this as non vindictive and considered that they just were not used to children in groups. Perhaps they are better geared to older retired campers. But what I did find disappointing was how unhelpful and discourteous they were to us and I'm afraid, our children in particular.
To end on a positive note, the shower block was extremely clean and well maintained.

We like this site. Have been to it several times over the years and still as good. The toilet and washing up facilities are always clean. An added bonus is that the washing up sinks are indoors, so if you're camping at either end of the season it's warm and dry to do the chores ! Wardens friendly and very helpful. London a short train ride away and it is possible to walk to Horsley station from the site.

Visit this site once a twice a year for the weekend and always very impressed with it. Has small playground and games hall with table tennis etc. Toilets etc always kept clean. Many people come for the fishing but it's a lovely spot either to explore Surrey countryside or to go into London. It's in the middle of communter-country with lots of lovely villages but also good train and road links nearby. The wardens are probably the friendliest we've encountered on C&CC sites.

Beautiful site! We only travelled ten miles from home to visit but it was a real treat. More caravans than tents. Lovely facilities - toilets, showers and washing up facilities spotless and modern. Staff friendly and helpful. Fish and chips from the Chinese restaurant excellent(turn right and end of lane and travel one mile).
Good area for plane spotters - Gatwick flight path passes right overhead quite often. Otherwise the site is nice and quiet and I felt very secure there as a woman on my own with five children. Highly recommended. Although on our doorstep we will definitely be back!

A gem of a site in a lovely quiet location within easy striking distance of London either by car or by rail with local station a short walk. With it's own fishing lake in the centre, this site conjures up an oasis in the Surrey countryside. As sadly seems the norm with C&C sites, pitches a little too close together for comfort, but unless very busy, friendly wardens use discretion in pitching your unit to give you some space. Immaculate toilets, showers, and wash-up, easily accessible and substantial dog walk area, very well stocked shop, and plenty of local information and leaflets available. Two parades of quaint "villagey" shops within easy walk. Nice mix of families, mature couples, and a few younger campers. Highly recommended.
