This is a lovely campsite, nice lake full of carp, not that I fish. We had a 6 man tent plus electric hookup for our 3 night stay. Staff were very nice apart from one old guy who thinks he is some sort of prison warden! There is NO traffic movement allowed between 11pm & 7am! I started my car at 06:55 & was told off, even though the old guy was 2 minutes late opening the site gates so I could leave early for an airshow. Apart from him, the site is very clean, toilets are superb, park for children consists of 2 swings & 1 slide, not exactly ground breaking but ok for short stays.Pitch to be vacated by 12am, so you can have a slow packup in the morning without the noraml 10am rush.
Not being a local person I had a bit of difficulty finding supermarkets etc, guildford being the nearest & only a short trip down the A3.
Would I return? YES.

We stayed at the C&CC site at Horsley in October 2007. It is a very nice site, although at the time the ground was very soggy and it was very muddy in the field we were in as the trees blocked out the low October sun and the previous week had been very wet. The adajecent field was much drier. The site has a lake, a small recreation room and a childrens play area and the facilities were very clean (as usual for C&CC). Our son took his telescope and at night he was able to see lots of stars - there was very little light pollution for a place so near London.
We took the train into London from Horsley Station on one day and visited Thorpe Park as well.

We stopped here for just one night. We had been to the Netherlands and needed a stop close to the m25 we arrived at 7.45 it was nearly dark and the site managers were very friendly and helpful. Being very close to the motorway this was an excellent stop for us. Quiet and not too far to continue the next morning. The ground was a bit muddy and I think the hard standings could do with a little improving but it was a very pretty site.
The one thing that I loved was that when it was dark there were no lights on site and the night sky being clear was stunning. I have never seen so many bright stars and being close to the airport the lights of the aeroplanes looked amazing, with out any noise coming from them. The next morning on my way to the shower block I had to stop and look at the woodpecker tapping a hole in the tree. I think this is in a good location to visit many interesting places. It was a shame we couldnt stay longer.

Have to say we love this site. It was our first 'test' site with our new van and have been frequenting the site for the last two years.
Yes, it does appear to be a van round the lake kind of place but its not really. About 10 round the lake and the rest in a couple of fields around the back.
There is now a small play area for children, climbing frame type etc but the recreation hall is still under utilized.
The toilets and showers have been impecable as all c&cc sites and the management are all very friendly and helpful.
If your looking for a weekend away in green surroundings, peace and relaxation with some fishing to boot, this is A++++

A pleaseure to stay at a nice, friendly camp site. Plenty of space, the toilet block immaculate, and the view / location excellent.
Only down-side, and I am being very picky, was the recreation hall, which really could be better used / run (only one table tennis table in a massive hall).
All in all a very pleaseant and enjoyable stay and I would definitely come back again and recommend to others.

This is a very nice campsite. However, when you see the web site there is a lake, when you arrive you find you are tucked away on one of the back fields, and only 10 or so tents/caravans are around the lake.
We found the toilet block very clean and the showers although fairly old were adequate.
We were there in August and had 4 days of rain, the drainage was quite good as the field was not too boggy. The only disappointment was the roads were not tarmac they were rather messy and I am sure fine in the dry.
The campsite managers were very friendly and kept apologising about the bad weather.
Overall, a very nice site.

Pleasant, well-managed site. Very large lake, adequate play area, lots of space for children to roam. Good toilet block with nice hot showers. The site was quite busy when we visited, but pitches are well-spaced and did not seem crowded. Aircraft noise was noticeable in the early morning - the site is close to both Heathrow and Gatwick. Staff were helpful - all in all I would recommend this site.

We have just came back from a 4 night stay here and it was lovely one of the best sites with have been to. The toilet and shower were lovely and clean. The lake was amazing our two children loved feed the carp bread as they came right up to eat it. The play park was good. the site was quite at night. the view from our tent was lovely as we had horse and rabbit in the field behind us. Every one was very friendly and helpful. They only thing was it was quite muddy but that the joys of camping. We enjoyed our stay and are hoping to return soon.

We camped here with friends and found the staff very helpful upon arrival. They allowed us to book in early without any fuss and we were shown to our pitches. We found the pitches were quite small and we could only pitch our tent (6.5m x 3m) length-ways to comply with the 6m fire rule, which meant hubby and I were sleeping on a hill sideways! The ground was very uneven on the field we were on. The shower/toilet blocks were clean as you expect from c & cc sites. The shop had the usual basic supplies. You could walk to the village which had a couple of takeaways, off-licence, budgens store, newsagent, etc. You could also take the train to london from the village. The kids loved playing table tennis in the games room which would come in very handy if the weather was bad, and next time we visit we will bring darts for the dart board. The fishing was great and hubby and kids sat for hours reeling them in. We spend most of our time on site and only left to get some shopping and to visit chessington world of adventures. We will definitely be returning to this site very soon.

What a joy to return to this site after the horrors of yesterdays site! The Holiday Managers are kindness itself. My partner is disabled so unable to get around very easily. Every provision was made for him, key to the spotlessly clean disabled loo, help with erecting our trailer tent, nothing was too much trouble. They had time to chat (which seems to be a rarity down in the south of England). It is not our first visit to this great site and certainly will not be the last, even though it means a 1200 mile round trip, (we have relatives living nearby so visit fairly often). The dog walk is great too. It restored my faith in the Camping and Caravanning Club sites.
