We are members of the club and have used many of thier sites, all good until this one. This site is too expensive. The fee just maybe ok if you are given a lake-side pitch but not if you're stuck in the middle of the 'back field'. The site was very busy the toilet/shower block is not enough when the site has so many units/people staying. The location is very good for visiting Wisley Gardens Brooklands etc. The staff we met were friendly and helpful.

Very nice site which is easy to get to off the M25 and A3.
The local village is approx. 1 mile away with a footpath all the way. It has 3 banks, a Post Office and several takeaways including a Chinese, Fish & Chips, and an Indian. There are two small supermarkets, a newsagents and a Bakers.
Approx. 4 miles away, in Byfleet there is a Tesco Extra as well as a very large Marks and Spencer.
Very, very helpful staff who work hard to ensure a good stay.
Limited toilets and showers but very clean and plenty of hot water in the showers, where you can choose the temperature yourself.
Rubbish mobile telephone contact if you are using Orange.

This is a beautiful site and is just off the motorway, we visited this site in June 2006 and we have just re-visited this site again in June 2010.
Lots of lovely wildlife and we were pitched by the lake.
The staff are very helpful and we walked to the train station from the site and caught a train to Guildford. The site is very clean and very well organised.
We were down south to see family and friends and the weather was really hot myself I have a good suntan now.

Great site, very friendly staff, the managers went out of there way to make sure we were happy setting up, water etc.
Showers always hot no matter what time of day. Its just pity some people cant clean the toilet after use. Very clean after staff cleaning session.
Fishing good+plenty of wildlife to watch.
Cycled to village, the cars get a bit close but its only 5mins. Enough shops to restock on food and bits for another few days.

Really lovely site and location in leafy Surrey. Very pretty with fishing lake. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The toilets and showers were really clean. The showers were lovely and warm.
There is a fish and chip van in the evening which is such a bonus.
There is a playpark which consists of only two swings and we could have done with a little more to keep the kids occupied, buts its only a small gripe.
Good shop which sell everything you need really. Esp ice cream!
Value for money but we are Camping and Caravan Club members so its a bit cheaper for us. They accept non members.
Would go again.

We have just returned from the early May Bank Holiday weekend at this site.
This a lovely site with a pond at the front of the site, popular with anglers young and old. Around the pond there are several hard standing pitches for caravans and motorhomes, although the access road does run between the pond and the pitches. There are three more fields with hookup with a few hardstanding pitches around the edges.
The main toilet block, laundry and washup was in the central field which also provided space in the middle of the field for tents without electric. A children's play area and recreation hall (with a table tennis table) was in the field to the right. Some tents, without EHU, were also placed in a lovely looking wooded area close to the pond. In addition to the main toilet block. There were more toilet and shower facilities by reception.
The facilities were sufficient, never seeing anyone queuing. There was always hot water (free), toilet paper and soap whenever I used them. They were not very dirty but neither spotless. Although in good working order they did seem drab and basic. There were notices saying the main block was closed 11am to 1pm everyday for cleaning, but perhaps a more regular inspection would have been more beneficial - there were a lot of children on site and frequently toilets weren't flushed and with the wet weather the floors got muddy very quickly.
Something I found very disappointing was the lack of recycling facilities. Plenty of dustbins were available, even free black bin bags were provided, but no recycling at all. No energy saving measures were in place in the toilet block either. All the lights appeared to be left on 24hrs a day - even in the chemical toilet disposal area!
I would have expected better facilities for the price - I think it worked out at about £23 per night for a 4 person tent, two adults (C&CC members) and EHU.
The pitch itself was good, flat and sheltered by trees. Water and bins available close by in the centre of the field. By the end of our stay the field was getting pretty muddy, though a strip of concrete in the field was being made use of for parking which seemed a good idea.
The site manager is very exacting in the instructions for pitching - being told precisely where the corner of our tent had to be and in which direction it must face, although we had a relatively small tent on a big pitch. When the family next to us arrived they were even told to move over 2 foot after they had detached from their car! Apart from that the site staff seemed very friendly.
East Horsley is in walking distance of the site (about 1/2 mile). Budgens mini supermarket stocks all the provisions you'd need. I think I also spotted a cost-cutter, bakery, indian restaurant, sports shop, a library and several cash points. We visited the Chinese restaurant, £15.50 for an all you can eat menu.
Horsley train station is about 20 minutes walk, then 50min by train to London Waterloo (about £8.50 adult single). There are plenty of walks from the site. The Black Swan pub is a mile or so walk north in Martyrs Green, it's what I'd call a Gastro Pub and might have felt out of place sitting inside in my muddy walking gear but, but was lovely outside. The Barley Mow and King William iV in West Horsley, both fantastic typical village pubs serving food.
Guildford is a few miles away for shopping etc. Clandon and Hatchlands National Trust Properties also worth a visit. The surrounding Surrey Countryside is lovely - we did lots of wishful thinking looking at some of the huge gorgeous houses!
Overall a nice site with adequate facilities and plenty to do in easy reach either on foot, car or train. However, I think it was too expensive for what it offered.

Visited the site over the Easter Weekend and in typical fashion we had lots of rain. We had a hard standing for our caravan which did make life easier, a suggestion would be to increase the size of the hardstandings so you can get right around your caravan and awning as the grass was extremely wet and the mud was inches deep and sorting out the aquaroll meant a trip into mud each time.
Over all a great welcome at reception, toilets and showers were great. Plenty of hot water. Staff very helpful. Cleaner is a little strict at times.
Over all we really enjoyed the site and our kids had a good time. Close to Thorpe Park, and easy to get to the main motorway links north and south.
Well done Horlsey. We will be back.

After a long journey, it was nice to be greeted in such a friendly manner. On 1st approach the site looks idyllic, considering we were 1/2 an hour or so from London, this was a beautiful part of the area and quiet too.
We were offered a choice of pitches, most of which are spacious, level and have water points and waste points nearby.
There are 5 separate areas to pitch, in the wooded area (for those with no electric), around the lake (for those with children over 12 or no children), around the children's play area, and 2 quiet paddocks, which we chose, heaven !
Facilities are all immaculate, and the reception/shop stocks the very basics. There are some fantastic dog walks, and a beautiful walk in a conservation area.
We visited London by train, which you can get to from the town of Horsley a couple of miles away, very reasonable prices including parking. We also visited Legoland (very pricey, but they do have free dog kennels which we didn't know and paid a fortune to have ours kennelled).
We stayed for 10 nights and the weather was great, we would definitely return to this site, fantastic !

Great location very quiet and the pitches were well spaced and serviced.
The facilities are modern and well kept, with regular visits from the on site staff to make sure everything was okay.
They staff always had time to stop for a chat if you were in the mood and were always cheerful and helpful.
The children were a little bored as the on site play are is limited but we managed to entertain them before the got too bored.
The main feature of this site is the lake which is well stocked with fish we saw several medium sized Carp caught just walking around and fishermans tales of monster fish were often heard!
Overall a great site to get away from it all and we will definitely be going back.

We stayed here in July for 4 nights. The campsite is well positioned for several outstanding days out, so we used it as a base. The small village down the road has a couple of decent restaurants - particular a fine Indian.
The campsite itself is fine, decent washing facilities and suchlike, and a little light on entertainment for kids. The playground for example is tiny, and the games room has a single table tennis table.
What stood out for me on this site was the level of customer service, which was excellent. One example - the valve on my gas bottle was faulty and the manager agreed to swap my bottle for one that worked, even though I had bought mine in Kent. He didn't have to do this, but it saved me a lot of grief and meant we could BBQ.
